When I first heard “feel my rhythm”, I basically cried. But when I heard wildside, I was blown away. I cannot describe how obsessed I am with that song, it’s so freaking good.
Red Velvet is the kind of group who doesn't disappoint vocally, I love to watch clips of them singing without any back track, it's crazy how they always carry a song with their harmonies.

About Wendy's accident, it happened during Psycho Era (2019) and it was very bad, that's why we're all very thankful that she's able to comeback and still perform today. Essentially what happened was during a rehearsal for a special performance at SBS Gayo Daejeon 2019, she was stationed on an elevated stage and when she got ready to walk down the stairs, the lift stairs did not arrive in time, causing her to lose her balance and fall approximately 2.5-meter from her position to the ground. The stage was dark yet the staff continued to signal her to walk even though the stairs wasn't up yet. She wasn't rescued immediately to the point that it was Mamamoo's Solar (also part of the special stage) who found her laying on the ground unconscious. And what's worse was this was a few hours before the actual performance/ event, it was even reported that several idols felt that the stage was shaky and that they felt scared performing. This accident resulted to all RV group schedule being stopped for more than a year, they only came back last year with Queendom.
Red Velvet’s discography is better enjoyed slowly so don’t pressure yourself to listen to everything they have released for the past 8 years. Take it slow and enjoy the fun, chaotic and unpredictable ride that is Red Velvet. I’ve been here for over two years and I have not regretted a single second. 💙
Yes you need to take several days (minimum) to fully understand what is happening in ZZB. Its the only way to get through it and fully love it, as you should. Also Caitin seemed to like the vocal fry in Wildside, so she definitely needs to listen to Sassy Me.

Regarding the concept of Feel My Rhythm, as I'm sure many people will tell in the comments, contains references to a lot of old european paintings, but the main reference is to Hieronymos Bosch's triptych Garden of Earthly Delights. It's a religious work of three panels made during the renaissance, and the main message of it is how "earthly delights" (including music for enjoyments sake!) will lead to damnation. To me, Feel My Rhythm is both a homage to the insanity of Bosch's artstyle, but also a wholesale rejection of his message. To me, Feel My Rhythm is a celebration of music, enjoyment and this moment (I feel this is corroborated by the lyrics of not getting stuck in yesterday or tomorrow).
Ps. I actually remembered this slightly wrong: in Bosch's triptych only the middle panel is called Garden of Earthly Delights. The first is Eden and the third is Damnation. It's basically the story of sin and how humanity will pay for it in the end. The MV contains a lot of visual references to all three parts.

Red Velvet has a LOT of R&B in their music, especially in their B-sides. They are b-sides queens for a reason and their vocals and harmonies are AMAZING.
You have been pointing Irene out since the first MV btw. Seulgi is my bias and she is a menace.
Also, when you have a bit of time, I'd recommend watch Irene & Seulgi subunit. They released 2 MVs and they are iconic. One of them has probably one of the hardest choreo ever.

I loved that this group of ‘witches’ dropped this on spring equinox, and it shows winters reluctance to give way to spring as life surges up again. There are a lot of art references in here too, you will probably have someone list them in the comments.
When you find a group you really love, our instinct is to jump in head first which can seem overwhelming. So just remember you can take this at your own pace and slowly if you want, we'll all still be here. Plus since the comeback is right now we (hopefully) have at least a few months until the next one. You know you can do whatever you want, stan whoever you want. You'll feel it in you when you want to officially start stanning red velvet. When I started getting to know them, I actually wasn't also planning to stan them. But one day, I just suddenly memorized their names, sang along to their songs, dive deeper into the bsides, enjoyed their contents; then yeah, I realized, "oh no I'm into them."

A lot of the “Feel My Rhythm” mv alludes to a lot of classical art, as the instrumental samples from Bach! I ult RV because they prioritize their vocals in their music. I feel like some idols sing just to get an album out, but RV feels more passionate and sincere (no hate to other groups or every group). Their slightly less conventional approach to music makes you think that they’re in the business purely for music and mot just to become popular. I really hope to see them in concert when they tour.

Seulgi (Sool-Gee (not Jee) is correct) is an ace of ace. Ask anyone (not even just the fandom). The IDOL OPERATION Drama she was part of had Moonbyul, Somi, and a few others from Oh My Girl, Lovelyz, Sonamoo, and Nature. Also, the SM X group (with Chungha, SinB (Gfriend, VIVIZ), and Soyeon (Gidle) released a song called Wow Thing and man, is it good! Check it out!
Wendy is one of, if not, THE best vocalist of her generation, but she's been rapping recently??? Bruh, the talent. And her accident happened due to the neglect of SBS who directed her to a dark, unfinished part of the stage during rehersals for a collab stage. The person who found her during her fall was Solar of Mamamoo. Its crazy because literally so many idols were slipping and falling on and off stage due to safety negligence. We hate SBS, js.

Wendy's solo is vocals 100%. It is a mostly a ballad type album but it is really beauiful. And yes she has recovered extremely well. She fell around 8ft onto a stage only to be found by Mamamoo's Solar. Joy's solo was very sweet and colourful. Very cheery!

Wendy got injured literally the day of or after (I can't remember which) Psycho was released. They were doing end of the year awards shows and the production staff did not have the exits marked clearly, so when she left the stage she fell off a lift and really got badly hurt. Last year was her first time returning to the stage since December 2019.
And yes! If you love R&B and jazz Red Velvet really do explore those genres a lot. But they also are versatile. SM really loves experimenting, and I feel like with Red Velvet they really go for it. I hope one day you stan them, I feel like they would be a perfect match for you! But for now, I'm glad to have this reaction! And that you took the time to do it! Much love and take care!
Editiing this to add that Red Velvet are literally NCT Dream's stage mothers lol They even had Chenle take part in one of their comeback stages years ago. Plus they have done many collabs with NCT members (Yeri has a song with Renjun/Jeno/Jaemin. Seulgi with Taeyong, Joy with Mark and Doyoung and then Taeyong featured in their song Be Natural.)

Disclaimer in stanning Red Velvet from a Luvie of seven years: They never repeat a genre/style for their title tracks, so you really have to have a wide range of music taste or just like them enough to stay for the roller coaster ride, because that's definitely a guarantee in stanning them

Feel My Rhythm just makes you wanna emote. It's like happy virus but make it Bach 😂 My fave B-side song on the album is Rainbow Halo and you should totally check it out in your free time. When it comes to Wildside, I feel like it's a better version of Bad Boy. Like it's giving me more than what Bad Boy gave imho.
