Thanks Saeed! Very well thought out comments. I could feel how you were feeling this song, emotionally. This song has that extra, feeling for a lifelong Carpenters fan. While Dusty Springfield did great, we always wanted Karen to sing it. Fate stepped in the way. Maybe Fate has given us Tori. This was as close to a Carpenters song as we’re going to get. It could get more lush, strings, harp, Richard. But the simple purity of this rendition has a healing effect. I’ve seen older longtime Carpenters fans react hard to this one. Your take is more this is just a great song from a great singer. Ah youth. That a twenty year old gets this, is all the more heartwarming.
