The killer is that she engineered this version by herself in her home studio. Not enough that she sings so beautifully, but she knows how to put it all in a recording. And that's not to even mention she had to have a good idea of which notes to use to harmonize herself in the overdubbing. She's ridiculously smart. She's amazing.

Another very good heartfelt and realistic reaction, especially given the genesis of this song and the relevance to Tori singing in this particular church. According to Joe, who was in the audience, the appreciation of the audience of which most has never heard of Tori before was palpable and must have been a buzz for Tori on what was only the second time she had performed in front of an audience as an adult. Tori is the process of growing insofar as her singing is concerned and attempting, and pulling off, such a difficult task as emulating Karen, she will no doubt use the experience she is gaining to become a very well known recording artist in her own right as time progresses, so thanks for your thoughtful comments from someone who cares.

Thank you for that back story! Amazing that it was only the second time in front of an audience!

@@MrsRealisticyup, and a thing I forgot for the rewrite. And the church was where Karen had her final service and where Richard married Mary. United Methodist Church of Downey. So continued here if it stays! And Graeme got it right!

Richard Carpenter wrote this song for Karen. But it was the last one as Karen sadly passed away before she could perform this. This was the 55th carpenter anniversary tribute in LA the end of April. Tori was honored to perform at this event. She sang this emotional song and many could picture Karen singing it in her place. Tori did all of the studio work and the layering of harmonies as she is an audio engineer as well as a musician and vocalist. This was a multi-day event over a weekend and Richard Carpenter unexpectedly showed up either the following day or the day after, and Tori had the honor of meeting him and speaking with him backstage! She is working on multiple projects, the next that you will see shortly is her production of Close to You. Peace out.

It's wonderful that she did get to meet him! I'm happy to hear that! It must have been very special to her and all involved! And I didn't know she was an audio engineer! How cool!

@@MrsRealistic yes! She 💯 % produced this, using Drew’s piano track. In We’ve Only she produced all her video segments and sent them to Jim for inclusion. And The Medley was 💯 % her (with an R created Karaoke track for the Japanese market) before Jim put in his 2¢ 🤣 which she loved and endorsed. Looky what he started! ❤️ She does it by ear, no less. But her ProTools skillz is off the chart, or with her “good ole’ Tascam 24 Track.” All with no pitch correction or autotune! Just her voice! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Mrs. R. CZcams deleted my long detailed comment. They have a tendency to do that. I’m going to try and recompose it, I had it backed up but not saved. I thought I was good but it went poof as of this might.

CZcams is a finicky beast! I had two of my comments deleted the other day for who knows what reason. 🤬

@@MrsRealistic earlier and on a different reactor. They only had Superthanks. So I made my request through that. CZcams deleted it but took the money! That’s theft in my book. Since I used my AppleCard I had to go through them to get it reported and undone. It was a headache but accomplished. Now let’s see if this survives.

@@MrsRealistic well, Tori and now her newest collaborator Dan Wesley have another classic to deal with. It’s Impossible, the Perry Como classic. Let’s just say, Tori tried her best to do well. Yeah, that’s the ticket. She “tried.” Dan is in the UK, he’s made a couple of videos on her and had an idea about this song. He reached out and it turns out it’s one of her faves. So she agreed to do it. So from Minnesota and England, we got a song!
I’m off to donate if CZcams doesn’t erase this.
