Enjoyed your comments on her....the background is as extraordinary as the performer. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment.
Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the age of 10 she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on CZcams. Two months ago, at the age of 18, her first performance during a new Russian television competition with several other renowned performers, has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of CZcams 'reaction' videos, and millions of viewers.
Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental and other-worldly...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation. Diana Ankudinova sings mostly in Russian, English and French. She has also sung in other languages including Spanish, German and Arabic. This is originally arranged by Tommee Profitt and sung by Brooke. Diana's version is lower at the start and blew it all up in the final section.
What are you missing? Diana Ankudinova did this show last year, performing 9 covers over 9 weeks. She brought out her first album in December, and she has done a few originals and covers as well - that's what you have missed from the 18-year-old supertalent this past year ;)

Hello - thank you for your fine reaction. This is a new TV show in russia, you know. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well knows artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won this competition. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion. Here are the 9 songs:

Great reaction! This performance was from a Russian show that aired last fall, and ran for 9 weeks. There were 9 singers who were also the judges and critiqued each other. There were 9 genres of music they had to perform over the course off the show.
Another song to listen to: The song is Bopoha - The Crow, and is from the same show she was participating in. It is in the category "Pop Hit" and is a cover of this Russian pop song:

The man who jumps up is the famous opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and husband of the world-famous opera singer Anna Netrebko. He is the guest of honor and gives 9 points to the competitors in this first episode. Every episode comes a new guest of honor.
The competitors have to evaluate each other and have praised Diana in the highest tones. They said about their performance: 'Diana has no competition on the show - she amazes with her talent - it is impossible to tear yourself away from her - you want to listen endlessly, they have' tears in their eyes and are even afraid to blink '.
8 out of 9 participants (Diana cannot give herself any points) gave Diana the highest number of points (9). She won the first episode ... and then all of the competition.
