Finally! 14 years old!!! Thanks a lot, I fully agree with your analysis but she doesn't sing like Shakira, Sher. Maybe sometimes . First of all she is Diana. She had a hard childhood but thanks to her foster mother everything has changed for the better! so she can translate the soul of the songs and we can get all wonderful emotions!
She's Diana Ankudinova, and nobody else. Unique. Cher, Lisa Gerrard and Shakira are smoking aside! This is an old wedding ritual song, it's like a puzzle, it consists of phrases taken from ritual songs. Where it is sung in a whisper is like the words of a deceased mother, because in Russia since ancient times it was believed that the river is the border between the world of the living and the dead, as in the mythology of others countries. You're right! According to the rules of this competition, the judge must press a button while a song is playing - if he considers that the performer should stay, and continue the competition in the next round. But the judges were so mesmerized by Diana’s performance that they forgot to do it. And then the moment came in the song: a pause, when they mistakenly decided that this was all - the end of the song. And then they, scurrying about, afraid of being late and not having time in time, race rushed to their buttons. :)

Her life story is shattering witch makes her even more superb.
She was born may 31st 2013 in far eastern Russia. Father is basically unknown figure. Her biological mother is a troubled creature who had 8 or 12(different info on that) kids and Diana is the only survivor. Diana was abused by her mother and others, for the first three years of her life, than after was dumped at the orphanage. Her "new mother" Irina Ponik was working as a massage therapist at that orphanage and decided to adopt her. At the time of adoption Diana wasn't even speaking. Irina found local vocal school, so they would help Diana learn to speak. Sometime after, teachers noticed her voice and she started to study vocals. Little by little she started to sing at different kids parties, gatherings and things like that. In 2012 family moved to western/central region of Russia city of Tolyatti. In Tolyatti Diana continued her vocal studies at the vocal studio "Melody". In 2016 her mentor Svetlana Vovk and her mother decided to try Diana on Russia "Voice" where she got through preliminary contests and in 2017 got on stage for blind audition of Russia "Voice" with song «Jodel Time» witch in my opinion she nailed it! Unfortunately, my opinion is different from idiotic judges and they did not turn around. She was eliminated from "Voice". In February of 2018 started 2nd season of "You're awesome!" on Russia's NTV tv-channel where Diana performed " Indila's song «Derniere danse». This time all of the judges unanimously picked her....
Everything is going well now and we can enjoy her magnificent voice and tremendous talent.
To add few interesting facts: After all she went trough, one of the judges at the "You're awesome" offered her and her mother a housing in Moscow, so they would stay there and he is promoting her now. The judge is Igor Yakovlevich Krutoy, very famous Russian music composer, performer, producer and musical promoter.
All of the costumes/dress made by her mother Irina Ponik out of scratch due to luck of founds. So all of the costumes are actually individualy made for Diana.
Amazing, isn't she? At 14 years old she can outsing and almost anyone on the planet (except maybe Dimash), and the judges don't even want to interrupt her performance, especially knowing that their doing so would get a reaction from the audience that, as in the past, would drown out even her powerful voice for a moment. That's the kind of effect and respect her performances almost always get. And at 18 she was even better. And her new recordings at 18 & 19 are emotionally charged, too. Her dramatic contralto voice is richer than ever, and her upper range has expanded and is also stronger. Her music can be addictive, but what a wonderful drug.

Then she first participated in the TV show "voice", but on another TV. The result is that Diana was not accepted. @@moodybrain6982 yes, tv sound is better, but the karaoke performance is better in my opinion. At karaoke Diana is singing for the love and joy of it, without the pressure of competition and judges and tv show production, etc. Plus, her full Edith Piaf song is beautiful.

After the applause, the judges had her perform a segment of a French song made famous by Edith Pief and after she sang it , the lady judge covered her face with both hands in utter shock , disbelief and SHAME. The judges said they didn’t press their buttons because they couldn’t teach her anything. She was beyond their level already. But this turned out to be a BLATANT LIE and one of the worse scandals in Russian talent contest history. Because the following day it was revealed that the contest was “ fixed” the winner was “bought” before the show started. A total travesty of justice.
And the following days over 80 million who watched the contest when posted on CZcams spit on the judges.
But she got her revenge the following year and year thereafter by winning not only the Russian contests in two consecutive years but 60 more awards and contests.
Please ( when you get the chance) I BEG of you to at least privately react by YouTubing “ Diana Ankudinova yodeling”.
And you’ll witness a yodeling masterpiece and if you stay to near the end of the judges commentary ( making excuses and lying) you will hear a brief portion of the French song the judges asked her to sing that she NAILED!
And there is a video of her outside a mall at age 11 singing this same French song but the complete version and she KILLED IT!!!! And at age 13 a classic flamenco song called “ me toy” which she performed with amazing emotional impact ( and in Spanish... a MUST WATCH ) And when you’re convinced that she’s one of the best female vocalists ( like millions of others including myself) you may want to react to a couple of her newer songs: ( she just turned 17 the other day) like “by your voice” “ Wave” and a masterpiece titled “Tomorrow is a lie” ( 4.26 one posted by HTB with famed composer Igor at the piano).
I promise you if you continue to publicly react to Diana ( “Rechenka,” “Human” , “Wicked Game”, “Yodeling”...your subscriber base will go through the roof.

If you go backwards to when she was 13 her first Russian audition, she got ROBBED!!! None of the judges turned and it caused a major scandal. She got a 5 minute standing ovation from the audience. If you react and wait about halfway through the judges comments on why they didn’t turn. Then they had her perform parts of another song and the lady judge was so ashamed that she covered her face with her arms and later on this same lady felt so guilty she invited Diana to her concert and there is a video of the performance.
The following day, 80 million who watched the performance on CZcams spit on the judges. It was revealed that the contest was “ fixed” and they already knew the winner. Payola?
You will also want to react to her unbelievable performance of “ Me voy” when she was 13 and prior to the Russian audition. You will be transfixed and everyone who watched this beyond amazing performance of “ Me Voy” either cried or were about to cry.
To go even back to age 10 when she performed a Beatles song “ oh darling” she SLAYED IT and I’m told it was on a radio show and did it in one take!!!

Hi Frank, This was the 3rd and final song of the competition in 2018 when Diana was 14 years old(there was a 4th song but it DID NOT count as points in the competition - called "Tomorrow Is a Lie" where the finalists could sing/perform with another person. Diana sang while Igor Krutoy(one of the Judges) played the piano, he was the composer of the Music and Lara Fabian wrote the Lyrics) BUT this song RECHENKA was not to be judged by the judges, ONLY by public vote. They were so mesmerized by her performance, as were the audience who started clapping, they hit the buttons when they heard the silence, forgetting it was the final song.

nah, i think in the "wicked game" performance one jugde was asked, why he hit the buzzer so late during the song. He replied that he didn't dare to interrupt her performance.. so this time every judge was waiting for a break to buzzer.. and they happily succeeded

The band Heilung has already conceptualized this type of performances: an amplified history. Google it! I strongly suppose if Diana could dig it through her future career, it would be so powerful for creating a new source for Russian soft power.. Diana could be the Medium for it, as many of Scandinavian experimental folk collectives. She is able to become Elvis Presley of this direction..

@@slavapetrov8547 а никто и не спорит. И кстати, сама Диана из ниоткуда не взялась. У нее были преподаватели, она слушала определенную музыку, на становление ее голоса влияли другие люди. Не думаю, что она вдохновлялась Шер или, тем более, Лизой Джеррард, и да, голос ее уникальный. Я лишь указал то, на что он мне показался похожим. Тут многие ее сравнивают с Шакирой, но я, например, не согласен. Спектр ее вокальных способностей пошире будет. А вот насчет курения в сторонке, то тут загадывать не стоит. Никто не знает, как Диана распорядится своей жизнью и карьерой и что вообще у нее получится в будущем. Нам же остается только пожелать ей удачи и сил в дальнейшем развитии, потому как такой талант не должен пропадать за зря.
