    • @stav2421

    It's beautiful, and it's only a suggestion but were you to fit the deck's footprint to the profile of the dome, and perhaps countersink it so that the dome is flush with the surroundings, it would really 'pop'. Mainly though, great work and thanks.

    • @stav2421
      @stav2421  Před 11 měsíci

      Possibly. But the dome raised above ground level helps keep it from getting water logged. If it was ground level the rain water would run across the ground inside!

      For material costs, search sizes such as Facebook market place, I can see sheet plastic (3mm Polycarbonate) for £30 - £60 in the UK. The 4m dome will need approx 16 sheets of 4ftx6ft. £30 * 16 = £480. Other materials are approx 1200 * M4 Nuts and Bolts. And some tools to cut and drill with.

    • @stav2421
      @stav2421  Před 2 lety +1

      its easier to work out how many pieces you can cut from a sheet, as calculating m2 does not account for waste and limits of sheet size etc.
      if you have a max piece size of 566mm x 566mm, and sheet material of 1200mm x 2400mm you can get 6 pieces from this. (possibly a few more of the smaller ones depending how you layout and place the pieces)
      as 166 pieces are needed for the full 4m dome of this size (or smaller)
      166/6 = 28 sheets of material would be needed.
      you can adjust you calulations for the dome size and sheet material size.
