  • I installed massive E55 AMG Brembo brakes on my 2005 E320 CDI and so can you. These brakes fit any 211 E Class and possibly many more Mercedes models. This was a super easy swap and the installation went perfectly.

The rule of thumb is as long as your car has large AMG performance brake discs and calipers fitted you must remove the series badge and replace it with an AMG badge. Also since your car is black you have to abide by addendum (a) which states that all chrome badges have to be resprayed with the black chrome clear coat from plasti-dip or a competing brand.

why not get yourself a 200 CDI or 220 CDI badge from Europe (don't think they ever sold these 4 cyl cars in the US) the original 200 CDI hat 116 hp. Much more fun to have a car faster than people expect than one slower than people expect.

On aircraft if the washers are floating but do not come off the bolt we used to call them captive washers. If they were integral to the bolt they were called flange head or machined washer bolts.

My 2006 E320 SBC quit 02/2016 just after the original 10 year warranty ran out. Just got a check from Mercedes for the total cost of the repair ($1694.20) that I did not have done by Mercedes. I read some coments saying the rear rotors are installed on the wrong sides. You do not install rotors based on the drill pattern but rather the fins on the inside of the rotor. If the fins are angled they face the rear regardless or drill pattern. If the cooling veins are straight you do whatever you find aesthetically pleasing.

Flange bolt I think too. Alex, excellent video dude. Brakes are really quite simple and I am always horrified when I hear people spending close to a $1000K for a "complete brake job". WTF?! I've always heated the bore of the ball joint (like for 30-45sec's) before install. Is this not advised? I didn't see you used any heat in the vid. I've been going back and forth about de-badging on my CDI too. My thought is it is already a sleeper being a Mercedes sedan! I have had guys come up who see the CDI badge and then comment on the rarity of the model. You can always reinstall them if and when you sell it? (right!)
