Remember as a kid setting the tent up in the backyard during the summer? This guys doing it as an adult. Dudes frigg'n rad.
In the winter at -33 to boot.
My brother and I would do that all the time. Basically turned the backyard into the living room playing Crusin USA out in the tent on a tiny tv lol.
@@DarkSpartan062 wow a tv outdoors sounds like a dream for a 90s kid, that must have been some great times
We used to love doing that, I would have a friend or two over and we would set up the tent, then after my parents went to sleep we would run around the neighborhood past curfew and have a blast 😂😂

Thank you so much for what you do! I am a former U.S. Marine with combat-related PTSD, and am currently battling pancreatic cancer. I say this not for pity, but letting you know I live vicariously through you and some other outdoor adventurers since I'm not able to be outdoors in the wild anymore. Your channel helps me relax so much! I do think I could handle camping with you and Crazy Neighbor, however. So if you want a third party, let me know brother! Lol. When i lived in Russia we had a house outside the city which did not have any plumbing or any way of heating it up other than the stove/furnace made out of bricks (not really sure how to translate it correctly!). Anyway my dad and I used to go there in winter (about -30C) and heat up the house. It would take awhile, maybe a few hours to heat up the whole house. We would go to the forest to collect firewood. i used to really enjoy the whole process, especially cooking some food once its warm! :)
Roy Vice oh yeah, most people dont even know how to start a fire without gasoline. Cant blame them though, why would they need to know? also where i live basically its illegal to start a fire anyway
Thanks for sharing that, also your english is fine, didn't seem off at all.
I miss our house with a fireplace as the main source of heat. Making sure we had enough firewood and getting the house warmed back up after a long day were some of my favorite routines. Almost medicinal after a long day of work. Thank you for bringing back those good memories for me. Working very hard right now to get myself to a point in the near future where I can do that again. Your english is great too btw.
Carter thanks man, sometimes I have hard time translating certain things :)

All of you commenting on Steve reaching into the wood stove to adjust the logs, it's really not a big deal. And you couldn't handle that kind of cold unless you have 5 hoodies a tent a little wood stove sloppy joe and most important WHISKEY.. I know I wouldn't make it without the WHISKEY. LOL
Hey Steve, that poor hand! I know that burn hurt. Here's an old trick my husband learned working in restaurants, and I've used it many times throughout the years too. If you get burned, put mustard on the burn immediately. The cold of the mustard will stop the skin damage, and the vinegar draws the heat out. You'll see the area of mustard directly over the burn dry out while the skin around still has wet mustard on it. That means it's working and helping. Just rinse with cool water and reapply. I realize this video is 3 years old but I'm sure that, playing with fire as much as you do, you're gonna get burned again. Be careful and take care!
I thought this was going in a different direction. Like "put some mustard on it and take a bite, no need to let good meat go to waste"
Ice cube applied directly to burn. If it still hurts when the cube is melted, Apply another, and another. Keep it directly on burn. You must do it right away. It works to stop the pain and prevent a wet blister that pops and hurts for days.
The mustard trick works.
Hey thinks for the great tip . I’ll try that if I ever get burned again

@@mikep8182 Interesting. Maybe you could tell me how the Blue Blazer and Flaming Henry cocktails work then?
Ha crazy guy
@@allysloper1882 the two drinks you have mentioned contain a higher % of alcohol the blue blazer calls for cask strength whisky and the flaming Henry uses bourbon. In order to ignite the alc. By volume must exceed 50% or 100 proof. Unless for example when a chef flambe's heat applied to the pan rapidly vaporizes the alcohol increasing its flash point.

Y-ME Farm - How much do you need to put up for a winter? I know it can be different year to year, but how much would be enough for you to feel good about things? When I built my house I’d planned on all wood heat, but at the end I got a big propane tank too - more of a concession to my wife that we weren’t 100% tied to wood.
I love that phrase “wood heats you twice, once when you split it and again when you burn it.” It heats me like six times - cutting the tree, dragging it out of wherever if I have to, sawing rounds, splitting it, stacking it, etc.! Still love it.
