    I have a problem with not being able to bring home "war trophies ". My dad was a Vietnam Veteran and he tried to bring home a bayonet that he got from a dead Viet cong, the MP's took it before he got on the plane to come home. I can guarantee you that MP's and Officers bring stuff home that they aren't supposed to.

    • @legoworksstudios1
      @legoworksstudios1 Před 2 lety +4

      AFAIK, the stories I've heard of war trophies were either that the MPs didn't think it was important to confiscate or they snuck them away from the military somehow. And I doubt they'd elaborate further since the tricks at the time are way out of date but if they're not they can be used to sneak worse stuff into the civilian world.
      The Army and Marines have had issues with weapons disappearing from their armories.

      @_Clem_H_Fandango_ Před 2 lety +4

      If you don't let them know you have a trophy they won't know you have one. Like Chaos said, every deployment is different so it's up to the individual to get them back without anyone knowing. The first Gulf War we deployed with our assigned vehicles, we just simply broke down the weapons and hid them within our vehicles. That was hit or miss, some were found when they were inspected at port. The second Gulf War we would break them down and send them in pieces but again, this was hit or miss.

    I lost my commander due to him having an affair with his driver. She got pregnant and was sent to the rear to "take care" of it and they got caught.
    Where I was deployed, we were allowed 3 beers. I stopped drinking for the most part so I would sell my drinks to others. The process is simple, order their drinks and leave them on the table while I count my money.

    One time in 2009 I got a Summary Court-Martial for drinking in Baghdad, Iraq (Dry Country). I went to military prison in Ali Al Salem, Kuwait for 30 days; but I got out after 25 days for good behavior.
    I was getting hard liquor right outside of F.O.B. Prosperity, in a couple of local neighborhood houses that my terp (Hodgie Richard) called "The Store", in the Green Zone. I would go off-base with my interpreter, by myself. I also had to learn how to drive a standard in Iraq; It was my terp's personal vehicle. I would drive his vehicle because I had the D.O.D. card and the Ugandan security guards, coming back at the checkpoint on-base didn't check the terp's vehicle if I was the one driving. So we'd bring plenty of Heineken and Vodka onto the F.O.B. and get drunk with my battle buddies. We figured that we might as well enjoy our time off of duty, since there was a chance we might not make it back to the states, after escaping death a few times and we would party it-up. (Even though you're never considered truly off-duty in a warzone)
    I stayed in the CHU's (Containerized Housing Units) right next to Saddam's first wife's palace (The Four Heads Palace) and would get drunk as hell (off-duty), until one day I passed-out underneath the QRF (Quick Reaction Force) MRAP, right in front of the C.O.P.(Command Observation Post), and the QRF team was leaving that night, for duty. I guess I got tired and stupidly found a spot under a large military vehicle, near the motor-pool. They would've accidentally ran me-over had I not been wearing my P.T. belt (Green reflective belt, used for physical training) and been noticed. They tried to wake me and SFC Caulkins was said to have even slapped me silly trying to wake me, but he probably knocked me-out, even further, into a nice stay in the Green Zone Hospital, where I woke with a catheter in my tip, to a beautiful nurse🥴. And that kids, is how not to get caught drinking in Iraq. Always remember, *PT Belts save lives.*
    Another true story: I actually kinda' ruined the change of command ceremony in 2009, when the U.S. gave power back to the Iraqi people. I ran my up-armored HUMVEE (sober) through two new white busses full of Iraqi soldiers that were trying to block my vehicle from getting through to my ECP (Entry Control Point), that morning. They were on either-side of the road with their busses; I was trying to squeeze through the middle and they tried to close me-in, so I couldn't get by (some sort of a power-trip). I told my SSG "F them" and just kept going; Scraped the brand new busses, from one end of both busses, through to the other end and almost hit an Iraqi Police Officer that was screaming "Keef, Keef!!" (It means "stop" in Arabic). I believe I was driving on the a road we called Road Irish. Right by the Cross Sabers (Victory Arch), just before the huge clamshell statue, near The 4th of July Bridge. They were getting ready to do their parade, where Saddam always had his military parades. I never got into trouble for ruining the busses, because my SSG and I never mentioned it to the higher-ups. We later realized that he missed the memo in an email, directing us to take an alternate route to our place of duty, that morning. I didn't change routes at the moment because there were I.E.D.'s being placed nearby, at times and I didn't want to deviate from the planned route.
    I brought my other 'terp (Hodgie Chris) and his family from Iraq, they live in Dallas, TX. and he says that the Iraqis still remember what I did and they want to know who did it, to this day 🤣🤣 This is a true story and I have videos on CZcams and a lot more of some good times we had in Iraq, that I need to post. Like when I benched 300Lbs for the first time in Saddam's ballroom.We used his ballroom as a weightlifting gym. If you want to watch my videos, you will see SSG Bennett there working-out with me. He was the one with me, when I ran through those busses👍👍. Well, I've been out since like 2012, so I doubt they would do anything about it now. So there's a couple of my stories. Hope you enjoyed, Stay Alert Stay Alive!!! Hooah!!!!!

    • @charlieredeemed
      @charlieredeemed Před rokem +1

      @@mightymovseI was a mess. I know it was definitely one of the many miracles, as to why I'm still alive. Jesus saved me many times, in war. Believe in Him with all of your heart. ✝️Remember, Jesus will never leave you, nor forsake you. If you put 'all' of your trust in Him, to be your Savior. 'All' of your sins (past, present and future) are forgiven, once you *Believe* that Christ died for your sins and arose again on the third day. There is nothing that we, as fallible humans, can do to get to Heaven, on our own. All of our works (good and bad) are as filthy rags, in the sight of the Lord; but if you put all of your trust in Jesus, His perfect Sacrifice will wash all of your sins away. When you stand before God, He will expect you to be perfect, in order for you to enter Heaven; but even though we aren't perfect, Jesus can be our advocate. His work, will be as if it was your work. Remember that! Amen.
      ✝️1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV Bible)
      Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have *Believed* in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures
      ✝️John 3:16
      “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever *Believeth* in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
