    The Acolyte has added a new layer to the witches of Dathomir. I'm going to change the style of my videos. No longer getting upset about people hating on Star Wars. Everyone has a right to their opinions. I truly believe that. This video is about the story contained in the latest Star Wars series, the Acolyte. That's all. Don't forget to subscribe.

    Loved your theories on this! I am still enjoying trying to piece this all together. Wished others would be more open minded and see there is alot more to this story that is yet to be revealed. Maybe the execution of the writing is making it hard for some to look deeper. Cant wait to see where it all goes! Thanks Gerald!!

    They way you broke this down is like a true star wars and and historian. Love your videos man. I feel you when it comes to all the politics if star wars now and the split between the fan base...If the story was explained the way you just did it , it would be so much better. I think the story is quality, but the exicution is the issue. I'm really hoping KK and Disney learn from this.

    Mr Fanatic. Please notice this one. I have overall theory. So in arc of Mortis we find that Light side is the only side that serves balance, its selfless and thus will live with dark in peace. Yet darkside always tries to dominate,hes selfish,he takes all for himself. Not understanding that he destroys balance. Light side is the only thing that controls dark one,as proven in Yoda's journey. But as Father said,too much light side also will destroy the balance destroy all. And i see that is what happened here. Jedi officially destroyed Sith. And they lived in balance,but while Nihil group and group of the open path appeared, they defeated them,and after,not to have those incidents again,they started to suppress and prosecute all others interpretations of force,especially ones that seemingly used dark side. It was the light side dominance ,light side destroys the balance. Thats what happened.

      I agree, it’s always been about balance and how both dark and light compliment each other but can become too much by themselves.

    I agree Koril is possibly the sith training Mae. This show is playing heavily on the relationship of dark and light. Koril shows more dark tendencies as does Mae. Idk if I’m the only one but Mae was going to kill the moth thing in the beginning of this episode. The other mother works to balance out Koril as Oshi works to balance Mae’s inner attraction to the dark. When separated they Mae fully heads down a dark path. This makes sense even if Koril is dead and wasn’t shown. I feel too many people forget or discount the role of the Mortis arc in the Clone Wars. They’re continuing themes of it in Ahsokas story and the themes in this one.
    It’s poetry it rhymes with

    Enjoyed your take.
    I think this is a story about fear. The Jedi fear the return of the Sith. They have created an entire philosophy around it. They recruit force sensitive children and indoctrinate them into their belief system early, before they can be otherwise influenced. We see both Yord and Jecki reflecting strict adherence to Jedi regulations.
    The witches fear exposure, persecution, and loss of their power. They have created a community based upon that dread. Koril is a singular representation of those fears.
    There are also individual aspects of fear. Osha fears becoming a witch and losing her individuality. Mae fears the outside world and the loss of her sister.
    I believe the Jedi of this time are not only at the height of their power but also their fear. Like crusaders, they are stamping out any force practices, which they do not control. I suspect they were sent to do it on Brendok.
    Our perception of the Jedi stems mainly from Obi Wan and Yoda's presentation to Luke. But, we never question their reliability or personal experience. This show illustrates that there are no absolutes. The Jedi Order is not necessarily some altruistic example of moral superiority. We see some of that early with concern for public appearance and political position.
    Similarly, the witches are not an evil coven of dark force welders intent on ruling the galaxy. (At least, they don't seem to be.) But, they definitely appear to be secretive and controlling, sacrificing personal freedom for the benefit of the many.
    On a side note, I hope Mae's master, whether Sith or not, isn't Koril. I'm more interested in it being Qimir. I find the idea of the bumbling incompetent facade masking a dark lord quite compelling. However, I'm more hoping it's someone who has not yet been introduced.

    Dear Mr. Fanatic, far be it from me to claim to be a Mando expert but Koril didn't have an Iron Heart tattoo. It's actually Dathomirian! Look and mother Talzen's forehead. A Mando Iron Heart, has one long tapered cornered rectangle, a smaller one within with a line going through the smaller. Just look at any breastplate. Totally different.

    I think you make theory about why Torbin killed himself a bit wrong. He probably did ot after this shown duel with Kalnaka. And maybe he sees jedi as guilty in death of clan. Also ,Mae says,that Indara attack unarmed. Maybe she did indeed attack those witches. Remember, we saw one point of view. Seen by Osha. Its not end of Flashbacks. We'll see more. There we will understand full picture.

  • @AaronKelley1969
    @AaronKelley1969 Před 17 dny

    So... I have a theory...
    I think Mar and Osha are clones. Force clones to be specific. Mother Anasaya created the girls from her own flesh, but Koril had to carry them because otherwise Anasaya's body would have reabsorbed the cells since they were essentially her. This retains the uniqueness of Anakin's birth. Still, it's a cool way to explain the girls birth.

  • @sceurpien3593
    @sceurpien3593 Před 15 dny

    I am pretty sure, that whatever Mae saw will enlight us better. I believe that Indara, Sol, Torbin and Kelnacca massacred the witches, this is why Sol never wanted to (1) let her see the bodies up close, (2) Sol never says at the end of the episode, what happened, she says, and he never really agrees, just let her believe that, (3) this is why Mae also asks before her fall "what did you do?".
    I think this episode is here to show all this from Oshas perspective, and why she thaught everybody died, and it is Mae's fault. But from Mae's perspective, yes, there was a fire she started, but the jedi attack just right after that, she sees that, probably also flees from them, and this is why she wants to take revenge.

    • @StarWarsFanatic
      @StarWarsFanatic  Před 15 dny +1

      I’ve been leaning toward this as well but I think there may be another layer. It isn’t like Jedi to attack unprovoked. Koril likely attacked them first.

    • @sceurpien3593
      @sceurpien3593 Před 15 dny

      Or they thaught the fire was to “rather kill the girl than let her leave”, which you can take as provocation.
      But!
      This would explain Torbin, and his guilt, if it was “unprovoked”.

    Hi Gerald, awesome video, I was not impressed with this episode, the witches were boring, and I do not believe the fire killed the witches, I think we will see how they died in another flashback, you could be eight as the sith could be the mother witch thar did not die and she trained mae to become an Acolyte, as we saw at the end she survived, but the jedi lied to Osha telling her they all died and the shame of that was to much for the second jedi who was poisoned in episode 2, I also think maybe it was the jedi who killed the witches but it has not been confirmed yet so we will have to wait and see, thank you for an interesting video Star Wars Fanatic.

    • @StarWarsFanatic
      @StarWarsFanatic  Před 16 dny +1

      I have a new theory I’m working on. Tobin killed himself because he killed the witches for taking possession of him briefly. That’s why he’s going to fight the wookie, as well.

    • @ianhenry1031
      @ianhenry1031 Před 16 dny

      @StarWarsFanatic I agree that is why he killed himself and he could not live with all the deaths but I hope his force ghost will help the wookie and the others will get to him first.

    • @garbotoxins840
      @garbotoxins840 Před 17 dny +3

      What specifically is it contradicting? George added witches and gods in the clone wars, and these are more witches with a view of the force very similar to the jedi.

    • @empireofengland6039
      @empireofengland6039 Před 16 dny +1

      If you mean as some say
      They brake the Canon with misinterpreted Force. Well they are not. Mother Anaseya says the same thing as Yoda or Obi-Wan, the Thread connects everything. As Obi-Wan said,The Force connects everything.
      Jedi taking 8 yo. 1st. Acolyte happens before Phantom Menace. So maybe in High republic it was recommendation yet not that strict as it was after. Also having this dark side incident would justify jedi's suspicions about Anakin. 2nd. Jedi targeted specifically these witches. So even if it was recommended, at this moment they should have took children out of cult.
      And similarity to Anakin birth. Nothing wrong with that. Just Palpatine is true father.

    so last week i said i liked the show , well I'm dropping my Disney account and I'm not doing it anymore. i wish you the best of luck. Disney is just silly maybe they never read a star wars book. i don't know, witches with no power and a eight year old with one lantern kills all the witches except her intended target. complete stupidity on me.

    • @empireofengland6039
      @empireofengland6039 Před 16 dny

      Well I see complete stupidity here. Your brain asked true question. This little fire couldn't kill all witches,or make fire bigger. Correct! But that means that Mae didn't killed them. Something more happened. That's how you should see that. As the point of view of Osha. The story shown mostly by her side. We don't see parts happening with Jedi or Mae. And we know that we will revisit that story once or even twice times more. Regardless of what you see,true story will be shown at the end. Also,read books,pathetic. Star wars is way more than books. And,just remark. Disney not guilty. If im done with anything it's fans blaming Disney for all while it's, first Lucasfilm, separate studio ,making all on its own. Second fans are guilty for all bad happening.
