Speaking as an Expanded Universe purist (which Filoni has not done any favors for), George left out a lot of information about how the force works, so over time the lore of how the force functioned changed away from what he intended it to be. George could have done a lot more to specify these things so that other authors and writers could remain within the limits of his vision, but he decided to let the EU grow on its own without too much intervention from himself, and that's where a majority of star wars lore comes from nowadays.

Anakin making Ahsoka's lightsabers blue from green still made no sense to me. It would made more sense that sense he fixed them up, he added his own crystals in and thought they would be cooler
Blame Disney Lucasfilm for decanonizing the Legends. If anything… Dave is just trying to put Legends characters & lore into the Canon.
They don't mention Echo because he's not living on the island. Echo could very well be off doing something to benefit the clones. Just because Echo wasn't mentioned in Rebels doesn't mean anything since Rebels was written several years ago.
Folks, don't assume characters are dead just because they're not featured in movies or stories that were written several decades before the characters were even thought up. (SMH).

People act like Favreau wasn't the show runner of Mando season 3, just like every other season. The season that everyone loves to hate on. U see how ppl pick and choose? One day, the community will turn on him too. Prequel era George Lucas got it, Filoni is getting it now. It's only a matter of time for John Favreau. It's a shame.

@@ShockwaveFPSStudios George Lucas approved of Star Wars Legends and allows them to be published. The authors who wrote Legends are far greater writers than Dave Filoni and Disney combined.

When he made the prequels and worked on Clone Wars, he wasn't making sure he followed ever letter of every comic made before then. That's why those are at the bottom of the "canon tier" they follow. Movies, TV, books/comics/games. It's even more in depth than that but it's good to at least think of things with these three levels in mind.
@@taylormadealpha At the bottom of the tier when it comes to canon? Legends has always been secondary canon. Star Wars Legends was created for the sole purpose of expanding Star Wars. The writers put their hearts and soul into writing Legends. Disney does even amount to one percent of Legends. Dave Filoni has only retconned Star Wars. So, Legends is far greater and superior to both Disney and Filoni. There's a reason that Star Wars fans are flocking back to Legends.
It’s pretty easy to say any of these clone characters were in the background of offscreen fighting in the original trilogy. It’s not message for them to have had screen time.

@@ZmbieTaco but just last year people were wanting to give Filoni KK's job. Saying he's George's apprentice, basically his Padawan. The same guy who gave us all those animated stories we love, Clone Wars working with George for the most part. And all of a sudden the man can't do his job? It'll take way more than anything that's happened before and after his promotion to just say Dave Filoni of all people can't make this stuff. If he can't, there's no one. I think he's the best person to teach the next generation of Lucasfilm creatives.

Keep in mind this is the guy that created the clone wars, rebels, bad batch amongst other successful things. While he has creative control whos to say how far that really goes...it is Disney in the end unless you own disney you never have control

Lucas created Clone Wars. Filoni simply assisted him. When the time came for Filoni to create his own thing, his lack of ability for storytelling was put in evidence. Hell! Maul moved the plot of Rebels forward!!
Just because they aren't "seen" in the OT doesn't mean that they are dead or that they don't want to fight. It is called the Galactic Civil War for a reason. There is fighting going on everywhere, and with many different factions. So there is always a possibility that they can show up in the future

Best thing Filoni did was Mando and bad batch. It was during these releases that we felt star wars was being fixed. Then we get mid shows, and now Acolyte..
I lost the ability to have faith in Star Wars a long time ago . . .
Used to be a Filoni fan, but over time, my opinions on him changed. I like the Clone Wars and even parts of Rebels, but he's too wrapped up in his own characters. Ahsoka should have died in her duel with Vader. Sabine didn't need to become a force user to be interesting. She shouldn't have been able to live with a Lightsaber to the gut. Between Sabine and Reva we've kinda seen that Qui-Gon is an outlier for dying, a throwing knife to the gut has proven more lethal in the Acolyte. Nothing makes sense and his characters are constantly held up when they shouldn't be.

There are levels to canon. G level canon, George Lucas 6 movies. Then there's TV canon, all the animated stuff, Clone Wars, Rebels, yes Resistance, all the D+ stuff. Dave Filoni was involved in all of that stuff and worked along side George. Comics, books, video games, all that stuff is under that. It can be changed at anytime. George would say sure, write it or make that but st no time was ever beholden to it. Filoni learned from George and the system of "tiered canon" George set up. That's what we have now. To say Dave is retconning stuff like a crazed uncaring lunatic without talking about how canon has always worked over there at LUCASFILM (before Disney, they have nothing to do with this) is doing nothing but getting people pissed at Dave freakin Filoni of all people. If people aren't going to trust him to create them there's no creative possible that'll stay in that individual's good graces.

Omega was about 12ish duaring the Rise of Empire which occoured around 60-70 years before The Force Awkwaen, Rey was 16 so if divided by that number it would have been 50 years since the rise of the Empire, and thus Omega would have been 60-70 years old, I don't think that any female human can be fertule at that point - let alone a clone

Yes but Filoni only has a lot of power in his own projects. Acolye doesnt sit anywhere in the Mandoverse. Disney has a lot of writers with their own ideas and agendas, unfortunately. This means that there will be arguments when people tamper other peoples projects. If one of the acolyte writers gets anywhere close with Filonis mandoverse, he wouldnt be happy.

Also if I remember correctly before Disney got Star Wars he said his clone wars was secondary to the CWMMP and he also had George’s input when writing TCW more than any of the CWMMP people did (not to say the CWMMP isn’t amazing tho bc it is.)

Awesome video!! Love to hear all this!! Thanks for keeping things positive and factual! As for Filoni's stance on story telling, I'm not bothered by it in the slightest. I always thought Disney making an official canon was a little silly. Glad to see it loosening up. Star wars is a mythology from a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away being told to us... I don't care if one story teller made Kanan's clone green and the other story teller made him red. It's not what matters. And people can visualize their own head canon how they see fit. Legends and expanded universe had inconsistencies too right? Filoni's stance and breaking away from a one canon is reminding me more of how George approached it and how he let people create the expanded universe without too much supervision or micromanaging. I like it. I like Dave Filoni and appreciate him taking a stance even if others may disagree with his choice.
