      This is the dark side, it’s a way of using the force, not a part of the force itself - the dark-side puts the force out of balance, and the force views it like a cancer that has to be removed.
      Jedi give in to the force, and try and follow the will of it. This doesn’t put the force out of balance at all. You could have a million Jedi and the force would remain in balance .

    This video exemplifies how old star wars feels different from new star wars. In the older stuff, things have a cost, and actions have reactions. For example, Luke fights Vader when he isn't ready, and gets his shit wrecked, training and effort actually mean something.
    New star wars, imo, subscribes too much to rule of cool. It tries to explain everything with blanket answers like "This person was strong in the force, so of course they'd succeed if they just believe in themselves enough." Anakin is arguably one of the strongest force beings in existence, but he failed plenty of times because he wasn't ready, made bad choices, etc. Success is only meaningful if there is a real cost and real chance of failure.

    • @ob1spyker
      @ob1spyker Před 8 dny +1

      The stone isn’t flammable but there are plenty of items in the fortress that are. If you look very closely in the scenes there seems to be plenty of wood on the floors and the walls could have material on it for decoration that is flammable. These are typical design elements of stone castles. Also look at the scene where Osha and Sol flee through a courtyard, the outer walls weren’t burning. Fire was only scattered throughout the courtyard. In the room where all the witches are dead, there is no fire seen in that room, just a glow from something else burning. What we don’t know. When they pull away from the fortress to see the full fire, the stone facades are not burning. Fire is only seen in specific places … not covering all the outer walls and all the stone.
      Castles burn, stone castles burn, stone fortresses burn, but it’s not the actual stone that burns, it’s everything else inside that burns that eventually destroys the castle/fortress and anyone in there. The fire and the heat destabilizes the stone and destroys its supports. Think about extinguishing systems. There would be little to none there to slow the spread of the fire because there is probably no large enough water source to specifically counteract a fire. Even today with all our advances, a fire in a castle can be devastating. In medieval times fires could definitely destroy a castle and all those in it.
      The biggest issue I have is the start of the fire in Osha’s room and how it spread across the floor. I would assume the door is an electrical fire but there would need to be something on the floors that would react with the fire for it to encroach on her in the way it did. Maybe an epoxy of some sort, or maybe the floors in that room were only meant to look like stone and were something else that would give comfort to the girls walking over them. Point is you don’t know what was actually burning because you don’t actually know the make up of the items that did burn.
      On top of all this, we still don’t know what caused the fire to spread so fast. What actually killed the witches. Was there force lightning involved or some supernatural force fire? We don’t know yet.
      Thanks to the power of streaming you can actually go back and rewatch the scenes and if you are able to look past your biases you should be able to see what I’m saying.

An action that may in fact itself be illegal within the High Republic. The fact that Osha and Mae don't seem to have any of Koril's DNA, seems to reflect and speak to that action having taken place.
    Neither Osha and Mae seem to be very affluent with The Force as well, speaking to a potentially average midichlorian count at best, my guess is maybe 5000 to 6500 on the count. So they are no Anakin.

In Legends Jacen Solo traveled the galaxy and visited many different Force using cultures that had abilities/perspectives outside the Jedi/Sith. That makes absolutely zero sense. Stop trying to defend Disney's shitty woke decisions and just accept you have 2 options now. You shovel the BS that Disney is doing down like a mindless drone and try and justify the contradictory and stupid things they do. Or 2. Ignore Disney completely and only accept the OG 6 Lucas movies, the Clone Wars, and the EU (Legends) as canon. It's possible they used the force to directly create the twins but it's also possible they may have used some kind of banned cloning tech. The mothers never directly say they were created using the force only that they didn't want the Jedi to find out how they were created. Maybe it was something more akin to modern cloning tech which involves injecting genetic material from a donor into an emptied out host egg cell. Maybe they did something closer to that then somehow used the force to ensure the girls had Force sensitivity. This was not a good episode but it seems like everyone is jumping to conclusions on a series that has said from the beginning that it is trying to mislead the audience. How about we give it time and learn a little patience like good Padawans? The series may very well end up being trash. I think one of the biggest problems with it is they have overestimated the audience. They have assumed the audience would be patient and wait for the narrative to unfold, but they were wrong. They forgot that most people want all of the answers now. Most people want easy watching like most of Mando, which has been lots of fun. This show is not that. This show will require patience and a willingness to try and connect the threads while also realizing they are trying to mislead which means we will need to really pay attention. Does that mean the end product will be good? No, it might be nothing more than a tedious waste of time and genuinely suck, but we won't know until the end.

      @michaeljayne6731 Před 8 dny

      This falls flat to me because there is no way the most powerful and knowledgeable Sith Lords like Sidious and many others wouldn’t have learned what those “strange” force users know. There is no reason the witches would have knowledge the Sith Lords wouldn’t, or at least wouldn’t be able to learn. It’s been well documented that, at least since Tenebrous, the Sith had been studying the force and its potential diligently.
      Long story short, they would have been able to learn how to do this stuff. It doesn’t make any logical sense no matter what - it’s just been massively bungled. I can suspend disbelief for theoretical fantasy worlds, but when that world isn’t self-consistent, it’s a problem.

      @@Wright805 That doesn’t make sense to me. What kind of loving and good people encourage kids to lie so they can stay behind with the group to help the group be more powerful? Especially when one of those children clearly wanted to join the Jedi?
      Doesn’t seem loving to me, it seems controlling and manipulative. Also, they’re so tuned with the force they can create life like that, but they couldn’t tell one of the young girls didn’t wanna be stuck in a life with the coven? If anything would be easier to do as a force-sensitive, it’s the latter thing.
      And those are just a few issues I have. It’s not internally consistent at all, and I love fantasy but the world has to make internal sense and it absolutely does not.
      One bonus: if “love” is so powerful that it’s a force cheat code, I don’t think most other events in the SW universe make sense. How can the Sith ever accomplish anything if the force is so anti-hatred? The Acolyte plot is more of something I’d expect from a movie like Frozen (oh! All along “love thaws”), not Star Wars. It made sense in Frozen, doesn’t make sense in SW. There are too many force welders for it to make sense, and soooo many good/loving/genuinely well-intentioned force users fail or die. If love makes the force work for you better, then that should not happen - at least to the degree it does in all other previous SW media.

With the witches dead then the knowledge is lost and Plageus would have to 'relearn making the wheel' in a sense. Hopefully the Acolyte explores the consequences of their actions. Perhaps them being twins is what retains balance (one dark one light) and therefore the force is more receptive to their creation

    Let the story play out. At this point we are all making assumptions. There has not been a definitive explanation of how the twin were created. At this point, I’m thinking that the process they used was more likely cloning and spirit transfer, hence the circle on the forehead. This show has been a mystery, complete with confusion and misdirections. There are five more episodes and people already think they have it all figured out. I don’t think it’s as simple as “I created them.” Again, let the story play out. If by the final episode, established CANON is truly upended, then by all means get upset.

      Well first of all-They do imply it was relatively easy simply by showing that they were able to do it so young (especially compared to someone like Plagueis)
      but more importantly, despite the Plagueis novel NOT being canon, it doesn’t change much, because we still have children being indirectly conceived by the force. Fairly SIMPLY. The Jedi also come to KNOW OF THEM and their origins, so why do they never…think anything of it?? This is 100 years before Anakin and they just…say nothing about it
      Also, people gotta stop with the SW Theory hate. Fr. It’s just a nuisance

    It’s actually not a betrayal of anything. Darth Plagueis could create life at will and none of his creations were ever the Chosen One. Prophecies don’t work like that. You can’t change fate when it’s already set in stone. Take a look at the Mortis Arc. Anakin saw his future and tried to change it and even though The Father erased his memory and said nothing was set in stone, that was clearly not true because it was always destined to happen no matter what.

    Something that has not been considered is that the Force itself is considered a living entity. Perhaps the witches seemingly effortless success was more about purpose than knowledge. The motivation of the Sith was lust for power. The witches motivation is derived from love, hope and necessity. The Sith attempt to evoke ( compel) the Force , the witches invoke (invite) the force. The Force fled the assertion of the Sith and complied with invitation of the witches.

    It’s really not such a big deal. Not trying to sound mean, but you’re making a lot of assumptions about the show when there’s not a lot of information to go off.
    1. We don’t know the witches were dark side users. They just belong to a different religion than the Jedi/Sith.
    2. We don’t know that the Force considered their efforts to be an affront. They did end up murdered because of the twins, however.
    3. We don’t really know that the twins were created through the same way the Sith tried to create Anakin.
    4. Whatever ritual they did produced twins; one light, one dark.
    5. For all we know, their tiny cult could have been doing this for generations. Maybe that’s even how their secret sect reproduces? It doesn’t appear that their goal was to produce someone as powerful as Anakin, or to dominate the Force. They appear to respect it as much as the Jedi.
    Basically, we take it on faith that everything the Jedi believe about the force is the only way to think of it. We don’t know that’s true at all. We’ve really only gotten the Jedi and Sith’s “two sides of the same coin” ideas until this point.

  • @samuelgelinas6855
    @samuelgelinas6855 Před 7 dny

    Just to tell you how the writting in Darth Plagueis is good. Well, Plagueis when wounded got back on a ship illegally. When confronted by the crew, he offered a choice which is a compensation for their troubles and more in exchange of staying anonymous and a way to get back home. Then the crew discided unknowingly of his true nature to take him as a prisoner then give him to the authorities. When the Captain confronted him again with a primed blaster in her holster Plaguies said ''Don't''. Again giving a choice to make a deal like a true Muun would do. But she ultimately sealed the fate of the entire crew by drawing her blaster against the wounded Sith Lord. Plaguies butchered them all and experiment on them as well. But the choice was an illusion because the Sith mastermind already carefully selected the inexperienced crew from the start and he knew the results were likely to end like this. This show his deception, cunning, skills, calculating origins as a Munn and how terrifying a wounded Sith Lord is in the eyes of the common folks. Truly a masterpiece.

    Its almost like no one in the comments have seen or read a murder mystery before and been tricked by it.
    We're not even 1/3 the way in and so many commentors have taken the first bait already. Of COURSE it makes no sense!No where in the episode did it say these "twins" were made out of nothing by the Force like Anakin.
    For the life of me I cannot understand how they are even being seriously compared at this point except for ambiguitous dialogue designed to make us immediately draw conclusions. Think about it. The "twins" hardly show a "Chosen Ones" affinity to the Force do they? No. In fact 1 dies as a child and the other fails to make Knight as an adult/teen. So what gives?
    The showwriters sure did an apt job if making us see an easy connection though with that 1 line "created them". Maybe even to draw us off track? Consider it. It's too easy but we are used to easy in Star Wars. Point A to point B.
    The path of least resistence almost is never the one that ends up being the right one in a Mystery story which is what this show was described as.
    That's what makes a good/decent mystery story. The turns. Finding out which is a reliable source to go by. Which isn't.
    Ep.3 was entirely from a flashback of a childs perspective. How reliable could that possibly be? Of COURSE the rock isn't flammible but through a childs eyes? Of course it was.
    How many times does the showrunners have to tell us the viewer that nothing is as it seems and that our predictions won't be right before we listen and let the story play out before jumping to such MASSIVE conclusions as "Lore's been ruined. No walking it back NOW!", "Dis has killed the Chosen Ones importance!", "SW is dead!", "[Insert culturely bias opinion]", etc etc.
    For crying out loud has anyone considered the possibility that the emotions we are all feeling right now were intended to cloud our judgement and keep us from using our analytical brains?
    Let the story play out. I've seen/read plenty of bad mystery stories in my day but passing that judgement on them would have been impossible before the curtains fell on the Third Act...😮

    When George Lucas was running the show there was one vision behind it. You might have liked or not like what George Lucas did, which is fine. But everything Star Wars fitted together when he was in charge. Now that Disney runs the show all that is gone. Every time a new director or writer is in charge, they make it slightly different. And have enough of that, there is so much disonance, that it has become such a generic franchise, that makes more and more star-wars fans apathic towards a franchise they used to love.

    I will add, maybe I am just dumb, but I did not actually interpret that line as they used the Force to make the twins. They know what palagueis only realized after years of failed experimentation noting equal and opposite reaction. Saying they dont understand the force also seem inaccurate to me. From what I've seen, they spoke of interconnectedness of all things through the thread aka the force and the importance of that connection. Seems to me everyone is commited to hating this on bias alone while we're only 3 episodes in and dont have any answers on any potential plot issues to know if our speculations are valid 🤷‍♂️ even Darth Bane saw the value of patience
