- Let’s take the Hawaiian slider rolls that I made in the last video and make sliders. I use home canned Sweet Onion Jam for a condiment which made this sandwich sing!
Ham and cheese sliders
1 dozen sliders or hamburger buns of your choice
1 stick of Butter
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tsp Tastefully Simple Garlic Garlic
1 lb of Ham
8 slices of provolone cheese
1/2 C Dijon Mustard
1/4 C Honey
1 C Sweet Onion Jam
Bake cover with foil for at least 20-30 minutes until hot

I've made a version of these with my garden meat but I didn't have homemade rolls made from our own wheat fields, wow you're are fresh 🥪
Sounds great! Thank you! I'm blessed to be married to the wheat farmer.
The look on your hubby's face said it all. Yum... Thank you for sharing.
Yes it was priceless!
I’m sorry he’s so cute. Finally gives a thumbs up. 😂 God Bless you both
Thank you! I actually cut out some of him eating because he was taking way to long to even chew! He is the sweet one! God Bless you!
You had me at Dijon mustard and honey! Then you added provolone! Great way to make a bunch for a lot of people!
Thank you! Yes and its cheap if you have already have everything on hand!
We did make your Hawaiian rolls Leeann - we also made sliders with pulled pork, mustard bbq sauce and cheese. But here’s the bonus- I had four leftover rolls so I sliced each roll into 4 slices, scrambled an egg, milk and vanilla to make the BEST French toast yum!!! Thank your dear sweetheart for your slider “product review” and endorsement !!!!
Thank you so very much Anita! I had to add the part of Howard trying to get lunch ready... especially since he didn't know the camera was on!
Yum!! I need to try to make me some of that onion jam. Thanks for the video!
You should! Now I have to make a video on Sweet onion Jam when I have onions coming out of the garden again!
Love sliders! Yummy! That's a great idea to please a crowd
Yes! I have had them at a Tupperware party years ago. I finally made them for my husband.
Hi LeAnn! This looks so good and perfect timing for the Easter ham leftovers. I’m a gadget gal too, love my gadgets. The onion jam on it sounds delicious. Your husband seems so sweet worrying about the sweet onion jam. Have a blessed evening!
Thanks Pam! I love my garlic peeler, can you tell! Yes, he was worried. This is how he talks because he didn’t know the camera was on… oops! But there wasn’t any shame in that! Have a great week!
You add fun to the food! Love your husband's reaction I noticed he ate a whole sandwich after reluctance to start!
Yes! Thank you, he is camera shy and didn’t know the camera was already on lol That’s how he eats… doesn’t want to be bothered with telling folks the food is delicious because he thinks they should know it is… lol
Looks incredible ❤️❤️❤️
Looks so good. Thank you for sharing. I just love your channel. I fell like I could sit in your kitchen and just listen to you share all day long.

Thank you Kecia!
I love garlic too! These look delicious. I bet those rolls are magnificent.
Thank you so very much!
Your husband was so cute. He looked hesitant to try the sliders. He reminded me of my dad, always a little leery of something new. I love canning and preserving and just subscribed to your channel. My sister-in-law is Mennonite and I learned a lot from her.
Welcome! I’m so glad you are here and love the content of my channel!
Looks totally delicious. Thanks for sharing 👍😎
Thank you Georgina!
Mmmmmmmm! Looks tasty. Now I have another way to use my onion jam.😊
Hope you enjoy
Those sliders do look delicious! By the way I love the color of your dress...so pretty!
Thank you so much Gracie!
Oh yum with yellow wax beans! I can do that yum yum
Absolutely!
Been waiting for this video since you did the slider video and I was able to get a couple of bag's of bread flour the other day at the store, YAY, cause I couldn't find the gluten stuff you told me about.👍💕
I get Vital Wheat Gluten from a mennonite bulk food store but I understand that not everyone has one near by. I'm glad you were able to find bread flour.
@@MennoniteFarmhouse I am going to an Amish store in less than 2 weeks, it's the only one I could find and it's still an hour and a half away from me, one way. Gonna try and stock up on as much as my wallet will allow 😂😆
Lol i laughed at your hubby..🤣 but i don’t have any sweet onion jam! I need a recipe!! They look awesome! Can’t wait to try…or should i say jesse can’t wait for me to make them.😂😂. Thanks LeAnne!
Isn’t he so sweet and caring about the viewer not having sweet onion Jam for their sandwiches! He loves it on subs with Mayo! I’m sure Jesse will tell ya!
I need one of those garlic peelers! I didn’t even know there was such a thing! Great video!
It’s pampered chef. I got it for canning and I have to peel and peel garlic! Thanks Dolores!
@@MennoniteFarmhouse Thank you! Now I know where to look so I can have one! Dur to my love of garlic everything...I definitely need it!
Another great video. Can't wait till the next one. Sliders look yummy. You and your husband are so cute together.
Thank you!
Looks delicious! Awesome your milling the wheat. Just started doing it myself.
Yes! I'm trying to get more into it just to save more money and be healthier
@@MennoniteFarmhouse what state do you live in LeAnn? My husband was raised in Nebraska and his Dad was a Wheat farmer. Also a cattle rancher. But he quit cattle long before my time.
I made a similar version called Cuban sliders & they are good.
Virginia that sounds yummy!
He looked a little suspect at first until those favors hit his palate. Those look delicious.
I love you added the sweet onion jam, takes too long to fly some onions lol
Thank you! my husband loves when I add the sweet onion jam to sandwiches and meatloaf!
Those sandwiches look - as my grandpa would say - scrum-diddley-umptious! I could tell how much your hubby was enjoying them! He seems to be such a sweet and gentle man.
I say the same phrase, maybe because I can hear my dad saying it! Yes my husband is very sweet and gentleman! My husband is a crop farmer and I was curious one day when he was cleaning it if I could make flour from it. I just recently bought a Kitchen Mill Plus to mill flour just in case stuff hits the fan. I used to use my Vitamix to make flour from hard winter wheat berries so I might buy a bag or 2 for safe keeping. The wheat my husband grows is apparently for cakes and cookies.
@@MennoniteFarmhouse Whoot! on getting a new flour mill! I think it's wise to have some wheat berries on hand. My thought is more on the lines of when it hits the fan rather that if. I hope I'm wrong, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I think you can use his wheat and just add the appropriate amount of vital wheat gluten to bring the percentage of protein up if you should so choose. I just checked KAF and found that pastry flour is about 8%; bread flour 12.7% and AP flour is 11.7%. Thank your hubby for his part in feeding America!
What I wouldn’t give to see the faces you make at Howard on the other side of that camera 😂 My family loves sliders. Yours look delicious!
😁
They look AMAZING! Love that garlic peeler you used. Never seen that before. You should totally sell them!! 💰 We entered your Can and Never Again today. Hope I tagged everything the right way. Thanks Ms Le Ann! Blessings!
You have been added to the playlist!! I wish I could sell them. The Peeler is a Pampered Chef product.
@@MennoniteFarmhouse Thank you and thanks for the tip! The Pampered Chef product really looks great!
Yuuuuummmmm :)
Oh my goodness. I am cracking up at your husband 😳🤣🤣 He sure was hesitant to try ! I’ve seen that look many times from mine.😂😂
I know, I rarely get that look from him… now he is ready for more lol
They look delicious, I have never made them thinking the rolls would get mushy. Are they?
I used half freshly milled wheat and I don’t know if that made any difference but these rolls were drier than the original rolls I made in the last video so they didn’t get wet at all. For me I love a wet sandwich… I might be weird! Lol
Those sliders look so good. Your husband is too cute! I thought he would eat the whole slider before he gave you an answer. But that was the answer. He was enjoying it. LOL
He probably would have ate it all if I didn’t give him the eye brow lift!! Lol
@@MennoniteFarmhouse too funny! Made me chuckle.
Love this idea for a pot luck or just a quick lunch idea!! Did you make the onion jam yourself? If so is it a recipe that you can share?
Yes I did make the jam and I canned it. I have a link for that recipe in my Sweet onion dip video. I might make a video on making this summer when my onions are ready to pull out of the ground.
@@MennoniteFarmhouse Awesome, thank you!!!
Your husband reminds me of Tanny. These look awesome I have to admit. I'm sitting here watching this wondering if I still have stuff in the fridge lol xox
Pam, You haven't made them yet??
@@MennoniteFarmhouse not yet hun not been well enough but soon xox
How did YOU like them, LeAnne? My husband always wanted these for Super Bowl snacks. One year I ordered a huge submarine sandwich from a deli instead and he was SO disappointed. He told me that was the reason his team lost that year . . . men! Great vid! Thank you.
I love wet sandwiches. they need so more liquid for me like vinegar and oil. Howard did love the sandwhich. Thanks for watching as always!
Hi Howard 👋👋👋👋
It looks delicious 🤤. I think 🤔 your husband is a little shy.
He is a little reserved or a private person… but he has grown a lot since we have been together. Thanks for watching!
Question? Unrelated to this video- what's the difference between bread flour and all purpose?
I have a bread book that calls for all kinds of flour that I wouldn't necessarily stock or be able to find at a reasonable price.
Interested in baking my own 🍞, but in hesitant to try since recipes bc of the flour! HELP!!!!
Bread flour has more protein in it which has more gluten to develop dough better. All purpose can be used if you use Vital wheat gluten with it by measuring every cup of flour and taking out a 1/2 TBSp and replace it with the viral gluten. All purpose can be use by its self but the bread will be drier.
A sandwich really isn't a sandwich unless it drips sauce when you bite into it. Another feature, but not necessary, is when it leaves the sauce around your mouth after a bite. lol So this passes the necessary requirement for being a fantastic sandwich. Or slider, in this case. God bless and have a great week.
I agree Chuck, I love a wet sandwich. God Bless you!
Cover with foil.....maybe that's why my seem to almost burn on top!
Maybe, also try putting them in on a higher rack in the oven.
Looks gooood minus the mustard and onions, mayo please. LOL
Yes I love MAYO as well! The Onions are load with sugar.
Lol after first bite he didn’t care about the camera lol
I totally agree!
Amazing! Not so sure your husband likes the sliders. He may need a couple dozen more to make up his mind.😏
He loved them! He finished them off today…lol
The sweet onion jam sounds amazing. I have made these before but going to try with the homemade Hawaiian rolls!
Hope you enjoy
