This unironicaly sounds like something my wife would listen to.
So basically you made a better country song than 99% of the stuff the labels are pushing...
Not really this is just as much pop country as what they push
The only difference is Mike’s song doesn’t have an overused trap beat.
I have been a lifelong musician and played just about everything to make a buck. I am also a song writer. Anyone who says they will only play one kind of music will never grow. There are so many things to learn from every genre. You guys knock it out of the park. I just found this video by accident and subscribed. Keep it up!
😊nice job gentlemen! You get it across with a good groove and an honest vibe. Don’t stop now!
I love your open perspective and mind. I hope you influence players to adopt this mindset. Props.
Can't wait for your "How Blues Guitar Players Become Country Guitar Players Become Metal Guitar Players" vid!
I don’t even care for metal and I would still watch that lol
Great track and looks like you had a ton of fun making it which for me is what making music is all about. Can’t wait for the next one!
Never thought I’d play country… I was into prog rock. Fusion, and rock… I was asked to play in a country band. I knew I loved Keith Urban and Brad Paisley, and a thousand other country masters… it was something new… I discovered that I loved it…
Vince Gill is a pure shredder with an angelic voice. Check him out.
Not a bad track at all! Country isn't exactly known for its lyrical profundity. Y'all nailed it. And seriously, 2:42 completely caught me off-guard. Great vid!
LOL same I had to rewind that part like 6 times
Write a country song about your Hello Kitty guitar…😆
This is a great modern country song, but in the past country definitely was known for its lyrical bits! Id recommend Townes Van Zandt if you wanna try some more lyrically interesting country :)
@@evelynstorrs Definitely, the song writing in pop country is exactly that, pop. Not that it is bad but older country has much more meaningful/interesting song writing.
Some of the best lyricists are country musicians
You are such a great dude, Mike…. This track is awesome and you let us see the fun you guys had doing it… Keep on truckin’
When Mike gets into metal I'll subscribe lolol
very beautiful greetings literally 10000 miles away, Çanakkale Turkey
You've come so far, and my journey relates to you a lot haha. Love the pop country vibe, and love your growth! Have a fantastic day too, Mike!
I really enjoy your videos. Well made, hilarious, and thoughtful. Keep doing what you're doing. Definitely one of my favorites.
Great take guys! VERY AWESOME! Always enjoy your videos. It’s a hit in my book
That was really good! Thanks for producing and sharing.
Awesome! Really like hearing about your guitar journey. Song sounds great!
You had fun, it's great to see someone doing something they love doing!
That sounds great! Nice harmony, good lyrics. Not complicated musically. Easy to listen to.
This video was very entertaining and the song came out great!
Lol perfect. Love watching you guys haveing fun making it.
Mike! You and your boy are fun to watch.
I like your material. Keep having fun. You are authentic and that shines through.
Symphonic death core. Once I heard Lorna Shore to the hellfire I was hooked. And yeah, I am a 62-year-old ( so-called African-American person) that has played the guitar for 45 years plus. I have always loved fusion styles, and had to walk back a little to get into blues. But then I took a big leap forward with animals as leaders, and finally Jinjer and Lorna Shore. The thing that will twist you about the progressive metal scene is the odd time signatures. “ Awesome “.
So damn good. I’m absolutely blown away. Great song guys!!!
Great job you guys! I like it! And you guys had a blast so that’s all worth it!
Hello Mikey from St. John's Newfoundland Canada. I'm enjoying some of your vids. I loved the one where you used the heavy strings!
Love it! Great country song!
Love this! GREAT job guys :)
Kind of in a low phase right now, and that clip at 2:40 has to be one of the best things i’ve seen in a while. Loving the content brother! Thank you.
I relate to your journey a lot. Especially the recent country music interest. I didn’t think you were about to write a pop country song. I was expecting something more along the lines of Daniel Donato. I love your channel BTW.
This is awesome!
Beautifully done❤!!!!!!
It's awesome man!!!
Loved it!!
The crowd I jam with leans in the country direction which I have trouble playing.
I’m a blues player and yes the first time I heard Son House I didn’t know if I liked it. I now love it and other styles of music. Ok your introduction to metal , early Black Sabbath it’s like the heaviest blues on earth. Powerful you’ll love it!
Oh yeah my country still sounds like BB playing country.
Same here, I only wanted to play 12 string acoustic Mexican Regional until I fell in love with the blues
I'm a blues guitarist playing in a country band rn lol. I think ya'll just put me over the country edge 🤠
Fantastic!
Wow that’s really good!
Wow, what a fantastic voice!
LOVED IT!!!!!
Jerry Reed is another fantastic country picker to check out. Him and Glen Campbell are two of the best to ever do it. Reed even played with bb king at one point!
This is actually pretty awesome. You can tell that you had fun putting the track together and that makes it super charming
I enjoyed your video, Mike. Not sure I dig the pink Strat, lol, but...The mix and the video are great! Nice job, guys!
I LIKE IT - good job gentlemen.
Hi Mike. Enjoy your channel. Playing guitar is a great ride. Been through all of the styles you've mentioned. I wanna play be-bop jazz like Grant Green now.
I became a country fan when I discovered Jimmie Rodgers tapes in my grandpa's old office. His yodels and songs really spoke to me. He taught me how to write and enjoy simple songs.
great work.
Nice work gentleman!
You guys are terrific! I'd listen to you along with Nashville's best right now. And you're both young enough to hang in for a long haul career. Do that!
Well done,,cheers
Well done, gentlemen. That song has the potential to chart.
Good job guys! That was fun!
I'm diggin' it:).
Sounds good 👍
dudeee this is awesome
that was actually really good. I got that Luke combs and morgen Wallen vibes.
Fantastic, personally I'd use that kind of transformation I can't play country at all!
I love the guitar chords!
I have been trying to come around to parts of country music, mostly so that I can join in with country jams. Like you, artists like Keith Urban and Brad Paisley got me interested. Brandi Carlisle and the brothers got me further along the road. And a small bit of Ray Wyle Hubbard to boot.
Nice song - needs some work.
That was a great track
Bro! Love it.
That was dope
...good vocals. Definitely hits that country twang.
Souded great man!
Kinda got me hooked. Any good recomendations where to start? What should i listen to?
I love the way you’re willing to explore anything! I think it was Ray Charles, if I remember correctly, who used to say that what he liked about country music was that it’s all about stories! Don’t forget to try listening to Chet Atkins if you want to hear a serious guitar virtuoso!
Nice track
I'm imagining the journey you went on to get the Ford hat
I know, I'm sorry but this is some pandering sellout Fracanacle Bow Shit.
Digging the song and the Vandy swag.
Can’t wait to hear how you got/get into metal 👀
Great work, great discussion and
Great open attitude to music.
👏
Your country song may have been done
"with light intent"....but it does come as sincere and not a satire or generic mockery in any regard.
"In the classic style of" perhaps is a better descriptor I'd use, and your song content is certainly valid as a legit country song compared to what the mainstream industry has offered over the last 20+ yrs.
Sometimes the elegance of the honest charm and simplicity of a song can be universally endearing.
There was a fair amount to relate to in the songs lyrics no matter if you're from the country or not.
Thanks for the video, you both are exceptionally talented and professional.✌️
We really did it Mike
a great song
Dang, that rocked Beau.
Nice 😊
Bangin'
Tambourine is the anchor! There's a great vulfpeck video about that!
I'm trying my best to learn a few songs country cause I do get requests to play country every once in a while but man is it hard. Not actually playing the music, just having to survive listening through a whole song before I even cover it! 😅 (Edit) Congrats on making a song, looked like fun and turned out great as far as I can tell!
Would you ever cover the positive grid spark mini or go?
this smacks
Okay, we need a whole country album please!!!!
“Blue Eyes” is pretty good. Nice job.
Made me become a subscriber👍🏾!!!!!
At first glance I thought you hade Colby Acuff with you and I went wtf, but man they lookalike. Great song!
as probably one among the handful of weirdos here that actually loves country music (not anything on the radio in the last 40 years or so, but still), I just want to say this was dope
can you do a setup tour?
I like it 🤘
Nice! I'm not a country fan but this was fun.
Damn, that's actually a great song
Kinda sounds like early
90’s boy bands/country mash up. And I say that in a good sense. Somehow it hit all the right notes.
Brother bear, this is good! And this is just the way I think any genre of music should be approached if you’re unfamiliar with it. Gotta find what’s relatable, and tune into what sounds good to you! You can make anything sound good, as long as you’re playing what feels right to your ears 😂
Uhh and if you ever want a clarinetist for a bluegrass track hmu 👀
I like it
finally, a video made specifically for me
Pretty good! … well, damn good! There’s a Video out there where soul singers/musicians and country singers/musicians talk about how soul/blues and country are so very closely related. In this vid there is an album that goes with. One song in particular gets me going. Al Green and lyle Lovett. Do a song together.. it’s awesome! “Ain’t it funny how time slips away”! Watch the movie and listening to that song, which is one of many that are so excellent. One thing you will learn from it is to never pigeonhole yourself into liking or not liking any genre of music. Every genre of music gives us something beautiful.! So, Nicely done guys. it’s a great song. !
I think I’m in the same boat. I didn’t really like blues until recently when I started listening to blues rock artists like Jared James Nichols as well as Clapton and Meyer.
Listen to the solo on Brothers Osborne's "Stay a little longer". It sounds like country Slash!
Love your channel, Mike... I used to love country music. Glen Campbell, Alan Jackson, Emmylou Harris, Garth Brooks, George Strait. It's changed so much lately. Too much like hip hop. I must say I loved your song, though. Great melody. The lyrics weren't too bad, either. At least you didn't have the word "girl" 14 times in every verse. Nice job, guys!
Definitely a track I'd listen to! I think it could do without the extra voicing in the second verse, but overall really good and better or on par with most country music out there right now.
@Mike Cole do you have a link to the site for your 357 Guitars Tele?
I like your "Country" song, how can I get copy?
