You made it look so easy seating it back into the brushes. I had such a hard time when i did it. I didn't replace the bearings though. Because of your video now i know i should. I did exactly what you did for my 7 yr old son with a mx500. 😁👍thnk u so much for this video.

FYI, the brushes in the motor can be pushed all the way back and they will hold in place by the spring catching. After inserting the commutator, you can release the brushes and springs with a small screwdriver and they fall into place. Also, there should not be any hammering required when putting the caps back on. What most likely happened, is when you were putting the first cap back on, the magnetism brought the commutator out just enough to allow the brushes to sneak out of place a little. When you were forcing/hammering the cap back on, you most likely crushed/broke a couple brushes. If you're lucky, they didn't get damaged too bad and the motor will run, but you most likely have broken pieces of brushes in your motor now. Not criticizing your work, just passing on my experience. Constructive criticism, I guess :)

Commutator never pulled out, the reason it had to be tapped on was getting the bearing to seat.

Thank you for a great video. What size of bearings did you use for a replacement? I got my D flat part where the sprocket sit on stripped and not a new sprocket does not sit on the hub properly. Is it possible to replace the stripped stud in the motor?

I believe it was 6000 and 6201 bearing sizes. What striped the threads or is the flat spot messed up? Flat spot is messed up maybe try using a file, if threads are messed up a threading die can fix. Outside of this I don’t think you can replaced that specific part and it would be more economical to just get another motor

WJK they were dry as all hell. Very gritty metallic sound when turning by hand. Bike was like 10 years old.
