Loved this little recap! I totally feel you on HoSaB, I honestly should've cut my losses early on, lol. And yet that ending got me and now I am 100% going to (reluctantly) return for the next instalment hahaha I need help.
Also, I finished RotE as well in November and boy... was it a ride. You were actually the one who got me started on that series, because your love for Liveships got me SO curious! Anyway, once I finished I didn't know if I wanted to immediately re-read the whole thing or never get within an inch of that piece of emotional destruction ever again hahahha. Looking forward to your dedicated videos! 🤩

I literally don’t know if I can put up with a book 3 just for Rhys. I’m so undecided!!!

Technically, King didn't write The Long Walk as Richard Bachman because he finished it in 1967 at age 19 before he invented the penname, but he made some obvious updates in the late 70s before publishing in 1979, so you could say he revised it as Richard Bachman. It's my theory that the original version had more gore, violence and sexuality, and he toned it down to be a Young Adult novel, from Rated X or R to PG-13. He may have even done a major overhaul in the late 70s, or even rewritten the whole thing from scratch. I'm sure the original version exists in his archives, so I'm hoping his estate will publish that someday, probably after he's gone and they're looking to squeeze out more profit. The Long Walk was his first completed novel that got published. His actual first novel was The Aftermath which he finished at age 15, but it was never published. Again, I'm hoping the archive publishes that someday too.

That’s some cool history. Definitely didn’t know that!

I’m very nervous about starting my Robin Hobb journey. Most of my friends don’t seem to like her books but I really do want to like them. I want my heart shattered (idk what that says about me but yeah 😂)

I do hope you enjoy them!! They’re the slow burn of fantasy but so worth it in my opinion!

I’ve heard a lot of good things about Wolfsong!! I’m going to wait for the newly released covers and try the first one out!

It was a wise choice to dnf House of Sky & Breath. WISE choice. God I hated it so hard. There was no point. No point at all to like 85% of it, I swear to god. I'm pretty sure I'm calling it good with this series. Unless a bunch of my friends who know my reading preferences tell me they REALLY think I'll like the next one. But yeah I just don't see it happening. I'm over it after that mess.
haha I also read the first two books in the Blood & Ash series -- really had a fun time with the first one... then didn't like about 40% of the second one, but it came back around in the end. But holy GOD the third book... painful. DNF-ed at 70% because I simply could NOT carry on lol

Omg....THIS is what I needed to hear! If there's anyone to tell me straight, it's you! Lol. I did NOT like the second Blood and Ash book at the start, and I don't want to drag my heels with a five book series or something like that.
I think with SJM, I can just keep re-reading ACOMAF if I want Rhys and Feyre, since that's the best one any way.

@@WhatCassRead haha yeah I definitely do not think you'd end up liking that second book overall NOR the third book. And I shan't be continuing to find out about the rest - lol
I think I'll forever be mad about HOSAB because even when I re-read HOEAB it held up for me -- definitely like 200 pages could be cut out and it's not high quality LiTeRaTuRe but it is fuckin FUN. So the next book being that friggen terrible just... UGH!
