FAQ's
1. How long did this take? 19 hours. The longer you have had your locs, and the longer they are, the longer this service will take.
2. Did you leave the rubber bands on? Yes. The rubber bands will stay on until the hair around the loc is long enough to be tucked in without them. This is a personal preference, not a requirement. I choose this method for longevity.
3. What did you use to cover the bald spot? NO FILLERS, FIBERS, DYES, OR SPRAYS! I carefully mapped out his sections to ensure the proper placement, and I combined his locs in a manner that would not expose the skin underneath.

Hi there! Good question. So wicks are alot larger at the base than traditional locs. It can offer some relief from high tension styles, but it's not a fix all solution. With a thinning spot, it's even more important to treat the scalp and hair underneath!

Hey, so I actually prefer to wash the hair first. This was when I first started doing wicks, and he was my second wicks client. The guy in the red shirt, was my friend and he was my very first wicks client. I felt comfortable recording because of the amount of loc combinations I've done over the past few years! But I noticed there wasnt alot of videos on this topic when I did my friends hair, so I decided to record my experience and how I went about things in hopes that it would help someone else.
Initially, I was thinking, was that if I detoxed and washed it last I would be able to do all the drying and styling at one time at the end but I found that it's actually easier to work with the hair after it's been detoxed first. The wet hair dripping down the back can be a pain, but I pop one of those bonnet dryers on the ends and then start my sectioning. After sectioning is done, the hair is mostly dry!

The sooner you start the better, as long as you're sure of what you want!

Thank you! And I did both. I basically went in and planned out the parting on dry hair, crocheted all of them together, and then I did the detox, and polished them up with the crochet needle again after his shampoo! Hope that helps!
