Diamond Part Wicks on 10 Yr Old Locs!

- Hi everyone! Incase you are watching with the sound off or need a quick summary, this is a video on how I completely restructured my client's locs. He drove from Arkansas, shout out to him and his family for making that sacrifice to come all this way, and even bigger shoutoutto his wife for helping remove the thread! Problems found: Matted locs, breakage at the roots, thread in the locs, buildup, and broken ends. After detoxing and removing all thread, I began to combine the locs. I started halfway just to pace myself and to use the most care when rationing out which pieces to reattach back to the ends.

Do you remove the rubber bands after you tighten the roots or leave them in?
Hello! It depends on the clients preference but I usually put the rubber bands on first just so I can get a better grip while tightening the loose hair. If they want to keep them in, I'll replace it with a new one at the very end when I apply the gel.
