      Hello! I highly recommend watching my older tutorial videos. I explain in more detail how to move the hook. The size I use is .5mm!

    What are the blond/brown pieces you wrapped around some ends after reattaching the large ends?

      It's just some human hair I had. I pre-lightened it to prep for the red color.

    When do you take the rubber bands off?

    • @ShondieLocs
      @ShondieLocs  Před rokem +2

      It varies, but I'd recommend taking out after a couple of weeks

    • @ilocdit
      @ilocdit Před rokem +2

      Nice work. But my clients don’t want any rubber bands. So I have to work extra hard to tighten as close to the scalp as possible

    Hi. How often do you recommend wicks being Retwisted?

    • @ShondieLocs
      @ShondieLocs  Před rokem +2

      I think this depends on the method but if you do crochet maintenance it can vary from 6 months to a year if you want more of a freeform, or fuller look. Some people retighten every 2-3 months, I've done with and without rubberbands. If you use rubber bands it's good to take them out in a couple of weeks to let the roots rest.

      @@ShondieLocsWhat are the pro and con effects of using a rubber-band vs without rubber-band?

    • @ShondieLocs
      @ShondieLocs  Před 11 měsíci +1

      The worst thing with the use of rubberbands would be tying them too tight. There are larger ones that I use for wicks (listed on my Amazon storefront) they are very gentle and can be used to train the hair to grow inside of the wick. I typically use them when the new growth is way too short to catch with the crochet hook or if the client requests it (for sleekness)

    Why do wicks require rubber bands ??

    • @ShondieLocs
      @ShondieLocs  Před 2 lety +1

      They don't all require rubberbands but it's a preference. If I do major repair work at the root, the hair is sometimes too short to hold what I've done with the crochet hook.
