The beauty of ALAC is that it can also be streamed to AirPlay speakers, such as HomePod, iPod Hi-Fi (via AirPort Express and S/PDIF connection), or Devialet Mania. Please get the Mania and let me know your thoughts on its performance and how BT vs AirPlay change the sound quality, as you can do direct A-B testing from the same device.
I have reviewed the Mania 😁

Upto what resolution does Apple CarPlay with a usb-c port play?
Can you please make video about great wired earbuds
Bcs Bluetooth does not support looseless audio
Hopefully the AirPod Max 2’s addresses these issues
Aaron, Thank you very much!
Thank you!
Great information, thanks!
No problem!
Hello aaron when will you review Jabra elite 10 ??
What about listening to FLAC files? I use the Equalizer+ ios app for my FLAC files.
only aac on iphone
In Finland, we have unlimited data with every operator 😊
I didn't know that. Awesome. Is that the law? Are they expensive? Hungarian internet speeds are said to be pretty quick but data plans are sometimes tricky and expensive.
lucky you!👌
In India too jio's 5G is unlimited
Yeah. We have Jio ISP (and even others with almost same plan) that gives various options. The one I have is around 200 Mbps speed with unlimited data and equivalent of just 12 USD per month.
Not only in Finnland, Germany as well but it always comes with a higher price.
Hi , iPhone 13 doesn’t have this feature:(
I set Apple Music to 24/48 on my S23U and listen to them over Buds 2 Pro that supports 24/48 and also over Wired and DAC at times..
Nice 😁
I don’t see that option in settings…
I am not able to see that setting even do my Iphone is completely updated to ios 17.1 does anyone know how to fix this
you need to pay the sub
Is there a way to automatically refresh your music library to update to the highest resolution, or does it require deleting and re-downloading each song, album, or playlist?
If the tracks are not Apple Lossless you'll have to redownload them
@@aaronloudnwirelessif I download AAC on iPad but do not download at all to my iPhone, will I get lossless streaming on said iPhone assuming settings are all, er, set properly?
I use ALAC 24bit 48kHz on my TCL 10L with SONY MHC V83D
it's awesome
Will the lossless make a difference in my car sound system? It’s stock with 9 speakers and a sub.
Yes it did make a noticeable difference this week switching from many years of Spotify to Apple Music streaming via kenwood head unit but I plan to go directly to my dsp after I get a dac to toslink 😊
Por favor puedes hacer un vs entre los Sony wf1000xm4 y los Google pixel buds pro

Hold on a sec, this only applies if you have Apple Music then? I’m on Tidal, not joined Apple Music and quality under settings / music only shows 2 options AAC low data mode or AAC HQ 256 kbps. So no ALAC nor FLAC options comes up. Meaning Tidal doesn’t get reproduced in higher quality at all with iPhone?
There’s no point going over 256kbps because apple devices only support AAC codec, Even if your earbuds supported better options
@@shenanvindinu5120 I hear ya, however just don’t get why the option isn’t there when using other platforms than Apple Music.
I run everything over ldac on my xperia. Typically listen to flac files ripped from a cd or 24 bit audio. So much more body and personality. If you haven't heard and gotten used to lossless... Its so worth it. Lossy sounds so dead and less dynamic. Its like the soul was ripped out 😂
Very nice 😁 cd-rips are a reliable old school source
@@aaronloudnwireless reliable and better sounding than streaming 🔥
Hello, i have iPhone 14 pro max and planning to buy sennheiser mtw3. If i use this earbuds with my iPhone will i lose sound quality? or only some features? Do i have to only buy apple airpods?
Music will sound better on the Sennheiser than the Airpods, but neither will be hi-res compared to wired headphones.
@@siphonsnob Hello, can you recommend wired headphones for someone who listens to rap and hip-hop? I also want to ask, does it work with just a cable connection and without using a DAC?
@@bberserkerr sorry, I don't listen to rap or hip-hop
😂@@siphonsnob
Hi Aaron, in the case of connecting external DAC, are you sure that iPhone 15 Pro outputs ALAC to the USB-C cable? I doubt this because I couldn't find any spec in Apple's official content. thanks in advance
iphone dont support hiress audio some shit audio has
iphone support only aac not fake lossless
@@AlexMkd1984thanks, do you know where it is specified?
iPhone /ipad Support ALAC .
I use a hiby fc3/4 amp/dac on my iPad Pro 12,9 M2 with Meze 109 Pro Headphone ,this is much better than ladac 😂
Hi@@skyhero1888, do you happen know the audio format into the FC3 (output from your iPad)? I mean, whether it is ALAC or AAC or PCM or any other? thanks in advance.
What if I jave Android, earbuds with LDAC on and I listen to Apple and chose a lossless track streaming online? Is that lossless then?
It’s the same as on iPhone
@@aaronloudnwireless So when I see "lossless" is playing I don't actually hear lossless?
@@ZotmundSzele it is less lossless than on iPhone since you are streaming over LDAC, but it won’t be a stark difference.
@@aaronloudnwirelessno is not iphone dont support LDAC only aac 😂😂😂😂
@@aaronloudnwirelessiphone dont support LDAC only aac 😂😊
Man, speaking of Bluetooth, your best Option is to get Bluetooth Headphones that Support aptX adaptive and then use your mac or your iPhone (soory you need a 15 for this) and buy an Creative BT-W5 USB-C Bluetooth Dongle which supports aptX adaptive up to 96kHz. This thing costs around 50$ or euros and you can stick this in a iPhone 15 or in your Mac, windows, Playstation, switch or whatever and have the best Audio Quality which is currently possible via Bluetooth. Or else use wired with a dongle DAC for around 200$. Done -> Make a video for this, your subscribers may thank me later...
The person who buys all that just to use it from Apple:🤡
Does it work with AirPods 3rd gen? Thanks so much for your video.
No. All Bluetooth transmission is lossy. You need to plug an external DAC into your iPhone and use high quality wired earphones or a stereo amp/speakers to get the benefits of ALAC files.
Thanks for the tip. Works great with my Airpods Pro 2nd generation! :)
Excellent
Actually it makes zero difference because none of the AirPods support lossless audio over Bluetooth. I’m also an AirPods Pro 2 user and after making so much research, I decided to keep all of my songs in AAC to not waste storage and battery while listening to music. Currently, Apple does not support any kind of Bluetooth lossless codec like LDAC so you can only utilize ALAC if you listen via wired headphones.
@@SalihSaryldz Hello, can you recommend wired headphones for someone who listens to rap and hip-hop? I also want to ask, does it work with just a cable connection and without using a DAC?
@@bberserkerr Sorry for the late reply and sorry but I don’t have enough knowledge or experience with wired headphones to recommend you one.
But about the DAC related question I can give you some tips thanks to my research. I think it depends on the impedance of the headphones. Anything above 32 ohms may be too powerful for the iPhone and too quiet consequently. You may need a DAC if you want to run very powerful headphones. Anything between 16-32 ohms would be okay to use without any DAC to listen to lossless music on iPhone. However, you may need a pair of very high-end headphones with a DAC to utilize the highest quality lossless audio (24-bit/192 kHz) but I think that’s a bit overkill. Normal lossless (24-bit/48 kHz) is the optimal option for the best sound quality and audio file size I think.
Unlimited 5g in India no tension , stream anything 😅😅😂
Apple could make it easier to get better sound quality!
AAC is million times better on Apple devices than on Android devices.
I tested ldac on my xiaomi pad 5 and can’t hear any difference.
Headphones,Sony XM4,Philips Fidelio L4 and Sennheiser Momentum 4.
Nana Mouskori??? You must 1000 years old, like me.
Actually lossless is a scam cos many wireless listening devices including apple’s own AirPods don’t support it
apple ia scam avoid
No. Apple is shit.
iphone support only AAC 😂😂😂😂😂
