Hasbro Spengler Wand KeepAlive board with unmodified Haslab pack keeps BOTH running forever-ish

- This video shows an Unmodified Hasbro Haslab pack that normally turns itself off after a few minutes of inactivity and a modified Spengler wand that would also normally turn itself off after less than a minute of inactivity.
By only modifying the wand, both the wand and the pack can stay alive for as long as you want (only as long as the batteries last!)
New features enabled by the Wand KeepAlive board:
1) Wand will stay powered up with or without the rumble motor going
2) Only timeout left in the wand is the long fire overheat. This will powerdown the wand (require you to power it off and back on), but will not affect the pack. The pack will still continue operating. If you want the wand to power back on, just power off and back on quickly (less than a second) and the pack will not notice.
3) The Pack will continuously run. No sound changes or any indication that the wand is doing something, it just keeps running continuously.
This Wand KeepAlive board (and the Pack KeepAlive board will eventually be available for purchase from eBay and through a GBFans For Sale Thread
The Wand KeepAlive board does require soldering of 8 new wires to the existing Spengler wand circuit board. No changes to any switches or internal wiring between the wand and the original board. The new circuit board, the single 8-wire cable, mounting bracket and mounting screws are included in the Wand KeepAlive kit.

I just installed my keep alive kit in my Neutrona Wand and everything works perfectly. I was able to do the assembly myself, even though I'm not super good at soldering. Thank you for your work.
Would like to see how and were to install the 8 wire , maybe a video how to, for the ones who can get an idea 💡

So, I picked up a wand and pack set from a friend who never imstalled his, and I dont have any instructions. The documentation link on your ebay store doesn't seem to work and I haven't found a good video tutorial.
What's the best way to figure out how to install in the wand? The pack was self explanitory and AWESOME.

Is this the one you already produced or is this a new keep alive board? Also, when can I buy it haha
I don't feel too comfortable opening up my wand nor soldering in new wires into it due to how new I am into this kind of thing, do you think it would be possible to have an option to send in the wand to have it done for you for an additional cost?

I want one of these but want to make a custom loom 84 version. Don’t like the stiff longer Haslab loom. Do you know how that would work?
Looks like this is the way to go for a stay alive kit. However I do like that the pack board allows for easy modification to a rechargeable battery. Do you plan to make any other in pack boards that add additional functionality?
I have several ideas, but need to focus on getting these out before I start playing around with additional features...
I've already modified my wand by adding two LEDs. I wonder if a keep alive system would work in my case without frying the main board
Probably not, but it really depends on what LEDs and how they are electrically connected to the pack electronics. The KeepAlive board just plays with some internal signals to make the wand think you are continually playing with it to discourage it from shutting down.
great job but .. I have some requests. 1) would it be possible to immediately turn off the backpack as the switch is turned off by the wand? instead of waiting for those extra seconds? 2) can the shutdown due to overheating when shooting be disabled? 3) could you add the sound like in the movie when the wand switches are turned on? thanks 🙂
1) Working on that - the pack normally waits for the wand to play the full powerdown sound before it starts its own powerdown. The goal is to get the pack to powerdown while the wand is playing its powerdown sound.
2) I have not figured out how to get around that, but the pack will not powerdown when this happens with the KeepAlive boards
3) Great idea but it would add too much to the wand KeepAlive board (more connections, additional components, etc) so not going to work on that

I have a link and sound Installed in one ..can I just swap the wands should it keep my pack alive
I’ve seen a few “Keep Alive” mods for the wand alone and they all look great but the only problem I’ve seen with the ones I’ve seen is that after 20 seconds the wand will automatically fire or swap modes (slime blower, stasis blast). Will this bored make the wand do the following???
No on-its-own firing or mode changes. You really shouldn't notice that anything changes in the wand other than it just stays on. You can see that in the video (not much happens!)
i only saw one on the store is this it? because that one says it dosent keep the pack alive.
No, that will keep the wand alive but was designed way before the Haslab Pack was even announced.
