Even in the happiest moments in Schumann you can always feel the darkest night. This is the big difference to Mendelssohn who was - compared - the lucky guy of these two great guys. As far as I know they appreciated another very much. Besides I am glad that Tatiana Nikolayeva evidently knows the poem (Joseph von Eichendorffs Liederkreis), so she knows what it is all about. Because sometimes pianists play these pieces in a pure virtuosic way and maybe don't know what the pieces are about, but it is clear that Nikolayeva knows it.
Thanks for this. Normally this piece is so rushed and accelerated. Nicolayeva really took her time and produced a beautiful melodious song with her fingers. This was outstanding music.
As a pianist myself, I love Liszt a lot (although of course my music is not nearly as complicated). This is a gorgeous piece and played with a lot of emotion, thank you for uploading! I've subscribed.
I never heard this piece before. Thank you for introducing it to me, it melts my heart.
You’re definitely hot, if you can play Chopin’s etudes 😃

Wonderful arrangement and beautifully played!!
Rapturous and exquisite. May have to do violin transposition, Paganini style
