Not only was Borodin a pianist, flautist, cellist, and a talented composer on the side, he was also a very respected Russian chemist.
It's clear to me that Ravel modeled his "À la manière de Borodine" after this suite’s Serenade. Both pieces are beautiful in their own way!
I love playing these pieces. Makes me feel warm inside and kind of nostalgic. Love Borodin!
And that's where Rachmaninov's inspiration for the beginning of his second piano concerto comes from
Not sure I agree, Rach uses it slightly differently to me.. hard to say he stole that idea from this piece
@@AndrewKierszenbaum Not to say Rachmaninoff "stole" it, but it's definitely an inspiration for him. He adapted the technique for his own purposes.
Nocturne also sounds like his etude tableaux op 39 no 7 middle section
Glimpses of genius here. Such a shame Borodin composed so little during his life.
The first theme of the C major Mazurka is so similar to the Mazurka which was a contribution to the Chopsticks Paraphrases by the same composer. The repeating Fs and Gs also remind of the Chopsticks motif.
Baroque and Romanticism together, nice
Чудесно!
It's good to see that you're still producing high quality videos, just like the ones that you uploaded before I disappeared. I hope I can join your next live stream now that I have more time. I am really trying to discover more composers and your channel has helped me a ton. See you some time in the future.
Ahaha, thanks dude! Glad to see you're still around :) And yeah, hopefully my future computer can support livestreams haha. Best of luck in your learning!!
@@TheExarion Thanks it's been going pretty well. Hard work pays off 💪
Such a nice piece! Thank you for sharing.
Btw, are you still getting the request?? :)
Haha, yes I still take requests
@@TheExarion Oh! Really.
I really recommend Jea Hong Park plays hammerklavier sonata in busoni competition. I heard even zimmerman praised him. It's extremely good.

Awesome! I will work on this soon :) Whenever you have a request, please let me know! I feel like I never have ideas for score videos these days 😅
@@TheExarion LOL. OKAY😎 Good luck bro:) I will request more soon👍
Would you upload the scherzo (the last movement?) love your channel :).
The scherzo is a separate piece, it was just included in the orchestration of the suite by glazunov
easy to see where Ravel got inspiration for this gem: czcams.com/video/E4jTZFgkGaE/video.html 😇
