  • SEASONS 19 On Console - PIGS! (FEEDER to FINISH) Farming Simulator 19 PS4. Modhub. Realismus Modding. GIANTS Software. Focus Home Interactive. This guide/tutorial video is to help understand how pigs in seasons work. To see what you need to do and when. This video looks at a completely separate feeder to finish operation using Gloucestershire Old Spots and Berkshire piglets, assuming it’s done by a different farmer to the farrow to feeder operation.

I have listened to all the animal tutorials as I've been working on my own farm. As I'm working, I've come to appreciate the hard work and time that you've put into these videos. Thank you MrSealyp, these are greatly appreciated.

Man, thank you SO much for this series Mr. SealyP. Being new to FS just this year and new to Seasons (console), these helped me immensely. I can't tell you enough. As far as pigs, I think I may just go the Feeder to Finish route, as messing around with different pens for piglets and mature just seems like a ton of work. I'll take the higher cost investment in exchange for my time haha I think as long as you are buying and selling at the proper times of year, like you said, is crucial. I'll probably just do one round per year, buying several hundred Berkshire's in mid/late autumn, and selling them mid/late spring.

By far the 3 video series of the pigs has been most helpful. I am glad I seen how prolific they can be before I got to the point on my play through, hahaha. I love that you laid the ground work of your tests out, and I cant wait to get a chance to try different things.

Many people don't realize if you are crafty and efficient with placeable animal enclosures and know the model mod dimensions, you can hook up MULTIPLE pens with a SINGLE water pump. Important for console in saving resource points on complex maps or you need multiples of equipment. Every point saved is a major gain in end game. It is still recommended to fill the water trough manually for maximum animal health, profit, and operational efficiency

Thank you for covering all 3 of the pig farming scenarios, MrSealyP. Glad you brought in the economy as a factor. It would be interesting to know if keeping the water filled well above the small amount the pump adds would increase their health %.

FIRST!!! hahaha. Anyway, I have to applaud you for this series. This is quite possibly one of the most informative "How To" type videos/series' you've ever done in my opinion. Generally your opinion on things affects mine pretty heavily anyway, but this one takes the cake. Here's my plan.."Farrow to finish" operation by putting a placable pen in the open area at the main farm for the piglets, as they come, and keeping the breeding stock in the built in pen. I"M SELLING THE STUPID CHICKENS!! lol

I recall water being deceptively important to health on PC. The Seasons pump kept it at too low a fill level to be efficient. I ended up using the Global Company manual pump instead. Feeding, filling, and cleaning twice a day got their health into the high nineties. It's not like there's much else to do in winter, aside from watching grain prices.

    • @FarmerKlein
      @FarmerKlein Před 4 lety

That's correct, the green bar on the animal pen menu i was told represents the risk of having animals die so while the water pump will keep the animals from dieing as it provides water all the time it does not mean it wont have an overall affect on health. The more water in the trough the higher their overall health will be. Health is a value that is averaged over time so keeping any of the trough values low will have some degree on health but again if the overall green bar shows them of low risk for death then I would not really worry about chasing the last few % of health.

Any haw loving your seasons guides watched all of your vids including mod vids and let's plays but there is a seasons thing I sm not sure about and was really hoping you was going to do a guide to vid . That is the horses on seasons, I know how they work as in you are a livery stable not owning them but haven't found anything about the money side of things?🐎🐎🐎. Hope you would be able to do this. Keep up the good work you are still the best youtuber and now commentator! Lol hope the new year is kind to you and your family. One last thing, niz sealyeg going to be doing multiplayer with you again in the holidays?

Another small tip I saw. You get more slurry than manure. You were right around 8,900L of manure and 14,800L of slurry.

So im playing on 6 day seasons with normal economy.
With 200 feeder to finish pigs selling and buying a big trailer full each day means I'd be selling 480 pigs a year. Food consumption is reading at arou nd 200k per year. So even if I only use own grown food, if I calculate the opportunity cost (selling the crop instead of feeding it) I'd be making a loss on the pigs. Profit of around 300$ per pig (144k per year) vs 190k opportunity cost.

What I do with pigs is buy breeders and when they have male pigs I take them to another barn and get them fatten then sell more money that way instead of buying feeders

Pigs I don't bother with meat pigs. I always use (f) pigs, I buy 20 of them as my breading stock, I move (m) pigs into a spare pen and fatten them up to 280lbs, I move the (f) piglets to another spare pen and fatten them up to 70lbs then sell them, once my (f) breeding stock reaches 280lbs I sell them off and start again from scratch. The breeding stock breed like wildfire by selling off the (f) piglets at 70lbs it stops the chaos of owning far too many pigs at one time.

  • @farmcatjenkins9629

I did some math on what the prices were that you showed. Just selling the four pens (not including the corn pen since you didn't show the price at the end) and assuming you only bought pig food straw and corn throughout the video, you made a profit on just the pigs of $36,100. BUT...you spent $98,818, so it was a LOSS of $62,718. In conclusion, grow the crops, don't buy pig food. Lol

Unfortunately in doing so a player loses profit due to waste. A percentage of all consumed feed is considered "overage" and cannot be recovered, if the spillage is covered. The costs are exponential dependent on number of animals, and much larger per capita day for shorter season settings If a player is against cleaning, simply use the terrain editor and "wipe" the area with identical terrain. A smart farmer positions pens for easy cleaning,

They really just ruined seasons it was way better before the update more realistic. Its sad had high hopes for the mod. Not even worth it. Better off playing the vanilla version. Sadly the vanilla is more realistic now.
