During the year 1983, the frontlines of the BETA War have been drawn at the borders of East Germany. As the disparate nations of humanity fight to prevent the loss of Eurasia, the Cold War still burns between the US and Soviet Union. Caught in the middle are the elite pilots of the Schwarzesmarken.
In the world of Muv-Luv Alternative, humanity is at war with an alien race designated as the BETA. Due to the nature of their foe, mankind has developed Tactical Surface Fighters (TSFs) to better adapt to the battlefields of this new war. However, none of this has ever stopped humanity from engaging in their squabbles against one another.

Should be noted that apparently Schwarzes Marken isn't accurate German. It was a name attributed to the squadron by a foreign officer, and was proudly adopted.
I've read Schwarzesmarken. About that moment. The officer was russian, so he came up with Chyornie Metki (Black Marks) and did literal translation into Schwarzes Marken.
As a token of appreciation for the high status officer they didn't changed it, and used for the squadron 666.

This is pretty great stuff. Considering that the visual novel and anime both beyond displaying the 666th's tactics made it a footnote to them finding Katia, it's amazing you got this much detail. From the source novel itself I assume?
Thanks. Yeah a lot of it was from translations I've read of the first few chapters of the light novel, as well as inferring what I could from supplementary pictures and the maps depicted in the show

Yeah. Tank-class are actually vulnerable to assault rifles but as with everything else with the BETA there’s always 10 more for each one you kill

Yeah as it turns out, the voice tracks were always setting themselves to Mono and only playing from one side. Surprisingly easy fix once I figured it out.

I have a question that i want to ask is how you american think about the design of F22 in your country in mecha form ?
It's a great design. You can really see where the real life aspects have transferred over to the mech. Even its technical properties, use in battle, and abilities in the series all make good parallels to the real thing.
9:01 how hard is it to kill a hive
Pretty damn hard. They had one shot to take out the Minsk Hive, everyone worked together, and still they simply have enough troops
Very hard since there might be thousand laser class
It was so difficult that, without one off experimental superweapons, they wouldn’t capture a hive until 2003. Which is AFTER muv luv alternative ends. The heart of the issue is that BETA are the ultimate kings of attrition, with hundreds of thousands or even millions of them involved in most major battles, and any fight with them that turns into a slugfest will end in their favor.
