I saw a video in which a former MS employee got one of those scam calls from India saying his Windows PC was infected. He recorded the call and let them get on his computer, but he had set up a virtual machine, so they couldn’t do any damage. The scammer even got his supervisor on the call, and both of them got pretty frustrated that they couldn’t open the things they were trying to open. It was pretty humorous.
what’s the video called
So is vm really secure and safe??
@@noertri618to scammers who don't know much about computers, probably
A vm has the same security risk as any other pc. Treat it as such, maybe look into vm escape lol.
@@noertri618yeah I use it to test if a download has viruses on it
Great video, well categorized, kept short enough to not get confusing but long enough to hold all the information you need to get started and potential issues categorized. One just has to watch the steps and execute them as you go. Thank you!
By far the most easiest and user friendly way and step by step on how to do this. Thank you so much and keep up the great work!!!!!
Easy to follow and just what I needed. Got VBox installed and the installed Kali Linux. Thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial! Really helpful and it was clear what to do. For anyone who reads this: If you start the VM and there is an error saying that a critical error has occured, try restarting your PC. This happened to me and restarting the PC worked.
My man... that was a nice and comprehensible walkthrough.
Easy to follow and straight to the point! Thank you Kevin.
THANK YOU!!! I have delayed my process on the odin project this summer/fall because I couldnt figure out how to run this VM effectively! This helped so much!!
Literally this video is so helpful,
Thanks Kevin.
wow i was just looking for yet another up to date installation guide but your explanation was just amazing! subbed
Interacting with this to hopefully bump it up in the search results! This is a very clean and easy to understand tutorial, so thank you for making the video! Here’s hoping I can use your advice to get my own virtual machine running.
@Kevin, you're a mind reader!
It's just yesterday that I was looking for a tutorial video by you, on how to install a VM on my PC, but couldn't find any!
And then today, I got the notification of this new video by you!
Thanks a lot for a well explained walk-through!
you should be scared of how these algorithms work.
@@Grea812 dont think algorithms tell youtubers to upload a video
@@Grea812 right? Sometimes I just be thinking shit and it pops up. Im serious too....
Kevin ive done this before but im here for a refresh. Thank you bro.
This was really helpful. Provided just the minimum amount of information for me to execute my project.
what a nice & neat tutorial! Thank you so much! Kevin
Installed it for fun and it was enjoyable to get it running and working on the first go.
A little confused about writing in a username, password then when starting it up it asked me to do the same again.
I loved the startup window asking about softwares to install. As I like to work on hobbies I was surprised it had Krita and OBS in it's list.
I don't get how they made installing and setting up an operating system look like counting to 3 compared to simply installing and playing a game.
Soooo easy! This is better instruction than my IST prof! You are the best! Thank you
Thank you Kevin. It’s too complicated for me, but I love to watch your video. Keep flowing for some beginner aw well. 😊
Clear and straight to the point. Love it. New subscriber.
Best tutorials on youtube, thanks Kevin!
Thank you for this video
It’s very informative and useful ❤
Great tutorial brother, straight to the point and very detailed leaving no info out✅
Thanks! Totally lucid, and you anticipated all of my questions.
Probably the best video on Virtual Box I seen for newbies
Thank you, I watched several other videos but it still took me 2 hours until I watch yours.
Really great job with this tutorial, Kevin. Would love to see a more in-depth video where you add/move a vdi image. Also maybe a bit more info on snapshots and how they work and such. Maybe show a mix of various Linux distros (Ubuntu, Kali, etc.) with Windows. Or maybe toss in VMware for comparison. Also demo sharing files between host/guest.
Excellent video - could not ask for more, at this point in my learning. Keep it up
Thank you! Clean tutorial.
welldone buddy , i learned every thing i need from your vedio !
thanks for your time , good luck ;)
I really appreciate your step by step procedure. Tks.
Thank you so much for this amazing video! It was so very helpful to me...
Great video Kevin. Thank you ever so much
Virtual Machine/Box is truly awesome to have. I can't wait to start having fun with it.
You are awesome man! I am new at this and not even my favourite Tech creators have shown me how to get started in linux from the absolute bottom
Thank you so much for your insights, your amazing teaching abilities. Great job.
Thank you so much! I’ve always wondered.
Thanks. Next video talk more about virtual network settings on VMs. Thank you so much.🙏
seriously thanks for explaining sir!! really helped a lot
Thank you so much, Kevin. You explain everything way better than my teacher🤝👍
I've been trying to do this for 3 years and this is the first video I've seen that actually helped me get it done, finally. THANK YOU!
3 years is crazy
Wtf
no way are you the actual tinder
I very appreciate this video. It's a comprehensive guide, with clear voice and subtitle
Your videos are always really helpful and no dilly dally. I appreciate that
Glad you like them!
My favourite software virtualisation tool! VirtualBox is great for running Linux, any version of Windows, BSD, Haiku OS, React OS, etc. You can run so many older OS's with this too! I love this program because it works on Linux, meaning I can use Windows specific software in a VM on Linux without having to reboot into Windows, or install Windows.
As of right now, I use VirtualBox version 6.1, which I find easier than the newer 7.0, although I guess I'll have to update eventually. I don't believe version 7 is available yet for most Linux distro's.
Keep up the fantastic work with your videos, we really appreciate it. :)
Hey. Does your Linux VM run smoothly? When I installed mine, CZcams is glitchy as hell. The video keeps freezing, and the sound keeps breaking up. I checked all the videos about the correct settings. My host machine specs are good for a vm (Win 11, i7 12gen 1260P, DDR4 16 RAM, SSD 512)
@@andreynguyen2503 Linux VM's generally are good when it comes to running smoothly in virtual machines. Not exactly sure why you are experiencing issues with CZcams.
@@andreynguyen2503 Same here, it is runny awfully slow. Videos don't even load and the system is laggy!
if i download stuff in it, do i get them back after shuttingdown or start a new?
what if i want to install some cracked stuff? games, if they were infected do they affect my host?
Thank you. informative video..keep going
I really love your explanation you are like a brother we have in our church his name is Brendan. God bless you, Kevin
this video helped me set up my first VM thanks so much. it was very helpful!
This is a very good tutorial. Great job! Thanks a lot.
Fantastic tutorial Kevin, you truly are your brother's keeper.
Duuuudeeeee, thanks so much for making me understand it. At first i had some problems like the VM not working and me being dumb and not adding the CD thingy, after a while i did it. Thanks kevin
Thanks so much. Before you I watched few more videos about installing VirtualBox and Ubuntu. But your tutorial like always is the best 😁 Just one question...when you said remove virtual machine you mean remove Ubuntu OS not a VirtualBox?
It works for me. Thank you so much
This really helped me. Thanks! ❤
Very nice. Now I can test out Operating Systems before I get them!
i geting so many issues on virtual box vm - your are great sir
Did you have any issues capturing video of the VM when in full screen mode? This looks like it could be a good option for making my own recordings, so long as the screen capture works well.
Thank you Kevin, I just learned about your channel and I'm loving it.
thank you for the clear instructions
Excellent, thanks for sharing.
Verry helpfu!thanks Kevin
Thanks!
I have managed to get Ubuntu running on a Windows computer, but got stuck in my attempt to install an Android virtual machine.
Maybe you could go through that process in another video?
This is great. Thanks so much. This was a great help for my Linux class.
Saved my life bro! great video.
Awesome video, great VM tutorial!
When you delete a VM from VirtualBox, does it release the allocated RAM & Cores that were allocated to it during provisioning?
Just start Cloud Computing course and part of my assignments is to create VM and I found this video very short and easy to follow 🙂 😀
Hi, thanks for this this clear and very complet tutorial. When you pause the virtual machine the cores that you reserved for they rest free to use in the native operating system? Or they still reserved to the virtual machine till you shut it down? Thanks once again.
Nice one bro, thank you.
Thanks A LOT fot this video. I'm on my first steps on learning to code, and this will be very helpful.
Suggestion: Can you make a tutorial alike on Qemu on Windows 11.
I simply don't get how to make it work.
Amazing bro. Thank you.
this is an amazing video dude.
Thankyou very much! it was extremely helpful.
for operating a Windows file inside VM would I also have to download a Windows ISO file?
Superb intro, well done.
thank you so much man.
Awesome Video. Thank you!
beautiful tutorial
can it also be dynamic with the ram and cpu?
Kevin, you didn’t talk about installing the guest tools or the extension pack for virtual box. Other than that, this is a beautifully explained tutorial.
Be very careful with the extension pack. It is not free, it is covered by an Oracle license, and is only free/allowed for personal use. That doesn't sound too bad, but Oracle is known to keep track of VB/EP downloads, hoping to find one that they can somehow track back to a company, and then hunt down that company for an audit.
Should not technically be problem for a home user just playing around, but it means that any skills learned about VB would not be useful on the job market, and if you bring a laptop to some kind of company (employer or just visiting for other reasons) and it contains VB, you are a potential financial liability, putting Oracle's crosshairs on them.
hello, thanks for your video, helped me a lot
thank you very much!
wow very great tutorial! sadly, much better than my teacher who just expects us to know everything without teaching 💀. There goes my tuition.
Thanks for the great explanation, it works perfect for Debian OS as well.
Wow, thank you!
This works very well much better than windows mpst likely due to linux being open source and the video was easy to follow.
thank you po, da best!
Thanks bro ✨
thank you man
Great guide, thanks
Thank you finally a bid that not 3 years old
Thank You!
Hi. Would you do a video on the top 5 apps for drawing and for photography? Paid and unpaid. Thank you.
Thank you for share!
@Keven Stratvert thank you very much for this tutorial! Just one question though. Do you actually need a physical disk to actually install operating systems in virtualbox or no? I have an Alienware desktop which doesn't have a cd rom tray. Thank you.
No, all you need is an iso file, which you can download. Microsoft and Linux distributions all offer iso downloads for their respective operating systems.
not me thinking the ISO image was the icon image used for the display and skipping it XD Mr Google quickly told me the difference, so now I know what an ISO image is, but thanks for the help in making a VM.
You so good. thank you
Thank you!
Thanks kevin for the video
First of all, great video thank you for explaining it so well.
I have a question, do you know why i cannot use the auto resize function? when I click it nothing happenes and when I click it again it adjusts the whole window size to the size of the virtual desktop with the background so it stays small and just makes the window of the virtual box smaller.
Great Video... First class.... Got me up and running in VirtualBox..... but :) there is always a but... I need more help with the file shearing, or is that folder shearing?? Would love to see a video that covers ALL the in's and out's of this.....
I m trying to get old files into programs running in windows XP in VirtualBox... I am having a lot of trouble in getting to the files and understanding how it all works...
after i downloaded and activated the virtualization and then started it, it had an automatic repair🙂💪
Thank you 😊
