    It should be also mentioned that why virtualization is so much more powerful than bare metal servers is because it allows over allocating resources for VMs running on the same hypervisor host. You could have 4-core CPU on the hypervisor and you would be able to allocate these 4 cores to 10 different VMs and all of those VMs would have 4 cores available. It's a whole different topic how you plan such systems, but definitely one of the main reasons for virtualization as well. Usually up to 5:1 over allocation performance difference is imperceptible and cheap hosting services will go crazy with over allocation ratios to keep hardware costs to bare minimum.

    Thanks for your effort.
    I have one question here, As you said when I'm running my Jenkins instance (in AWS cloud)with Virtualization, just Assume it today Jenkins is not running reason is I made some changes in Jenkins configuration files, now the question is if I need to take backup of VMI as a snapshot but while taking snapshot I have Jenkins data with old configuration state file, after taking backup if I'm creating another VM with an image of backup data then again my Jenkins won't run right, in a new machine?

    @TechWorld with Nana Great content, very useful information! QUESTION: Does anyone know if the resources (CPU, RAM, Partition) allocated to the Virtual Machine, remain separated even if we are not using the the Hypervisor to launch the virtual machine??

    • @trishnatimalsena5478
      @trishnatimalsena5478 Před rokem

      I don't think we can run a Virtual Machine int the first place without using a hypervisor since Hypervisor itself is what is used to allocate resources to multiple Virtual machines and/or the host machine
