I like this engineer, he seems like a great representative for GM and knows everything Jay is asking..
Sure hope so he's head engineer!
So did the Bentley man..... This feller actually has personality and presence
He is full of knowledge but not full of ego but also outgoing and likes his product
Yes, Tadge is awesome. :-)
I've actually met Tadge twice (my cousin was the Corvette QC Director until he retired) and the guy is every bit as nice when he meets "normal" people off camera. GM really should steer him toward ALL media events. Cheers.
"You put your beer in the front and pizza at the back"
Can't get more American than that.
Love this guy, he is a gem.
hilarious. i doubt a pizza fits flat in the back, though haha
You took the words right out of my mouth! It's the updated version of "Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet".
USA ! USA ! USA !
@Furn333 Good for Ford...?
@Furn333
That engineer is such a relaxing, laid back, knowledgeable guy. I can see why he is their top one.
I like how he said "that's where I started" when Jay mentioned working on boring door handles.
I noticed that too.
No shame starting from the bottom!
Jay, my wife doesn't like when I watch your Videos what can I do ? Need consultation, ☹️🤔
My wife of 30 years said if I buy a new C8 she is going to leave me, boy I’m going to miss her!
Name the car after her hot friend if she does.😆
What does she have against corvettes
@@Tripple_Threatt92 He can't afford to buy one for her? 😃
She must have been a Mustang fan.
See ya wife!
Tadge Juechter is such a wonderful guest, really enjoyed him here
Look like he aged 20 yrs from past episode
Obviously an extremely capable and talented man.
Oh.
Should I get 1?
@@justinbustin677 He looks like Fire Marshall Bill!
Only Jay Leno can drive around LA County in a race car with no tag, get in to the throttle, and be perfectly comfortable.
Great show. Great work by GM. Go America!
Corvettes the last few yrs have gotten better and better, with so much invention and inovension . Bravo Chevy !!! And the gauges in the dash all work together down to the last inth. Good for you Chevrolet!!
As we all know, it's not a day task to become a successful person, but the secret they use is what the middle class doesn't like to do like the stock market.
Very true, but to live a rich and comfortable life, you need to develop an investment mindset. Buy, invest and buy again is the future.
The income generated can stand the test of time depending on how you double it, as you can earn a million and spend it within days.
That's a good point! I think it's clear that the top three investment vehicles today are cryptocurrencies, stocks, and real estate. To achieve all these feats, you have to take risks and be patient enough.
John Joseph, a Certified Financial Professional, has lifted my financial situation to an all-time high with his trading strategies and I am now making huge profits from all three major sources of income i.e. cryptocurrency, stocks and gold. 'immovable.
John Joseph is not just another trader who could crash at any moment. It's completely reliable because I started a trading portfolio with $30,000 and made over $80,000 every week for 3 years.
Where ever GM got this dude from ? He's Worth every Penny.. great conversation and Most Important Confident and Informed.. Jay really enjoyed himself.. I'm a huge fan of this channel.. Jay is a legend
Im 35 and so honored to here their conversation.. if I can't afford the car until im their age? I'd be Happy 💯💪🏽
He is the chief engineer and does all the videos for new owners of Corvette since the C5 models and on but was there before to. He makes the big decisions. But this model crakes me up cuz they went back to the C5 gas cap and the Corvette written dead center on back . No one talks about that. But alot of people love the C6 great C7 model apparently the C8 is better.
@Mike Lopez thanks for the info.. you have a CZcams page?
Jay is a super nice guy in person as well. :)
@Benny Silin impossible.. it's like two Christmases and one.. I'm sure some lucky guy is getting one for Christmas..
Clint Eastwood's brother seems to be a competent auto engineer.
Haha. Props!
Huh, I thought he is Charlton Heston's brother
I think he needs a few double cheeseburgers, shakes & fries...quickly!🤣
Hahahahaha right! He looks like a younger clint eastwood.. what a badass!

If you ever wondered what really smart, intelligent, successful people look like, here's two of them!
I ordered my 2021C8 on Wednesday they said they’re going to call me in six weeks and let me know when production is going to start I got the 3LT model with the Z 51 and added a few other features it was right about 85,000 sticker price not including delivery tax registration or any of the fees. I think you can get a beautiful car without all the extra stuff for around 60,000, I probably should’ve just went with the standard with the Z 51 package in the magnetic ride control but you only live once I’m over 50 years old I’ve worked hard my whole life so I went for it.

Dead.
When Jay goes hunting in the denim forest he's damn near invisible.
He could also do a denim wrap.
The guy that insisted on the 60k mark at GM is a genius.
@Waiting for ES6 That's still like a 1/3 of the huracan which honestly won't be that much better/faster and won't be reliable or cheap to maintain at all.
@Waiting for ES6 Nope look at the standard features and performance. They are shooting out a ton at 60k.
Rj you can always spec your own car from factory
Lambo is like a Patek Phillipe watch. Budget goes completely out the window. Corvette is like a seiko. Lambo is an artisanal product that is made by hand in an artful way. Corvette tries to save cost.
@Waiting for ES6 but still you can get one for low 70s and that's still cheap for a car this nice

I agreed!
Too bad J does not listen to the engineer when he repeatedly stated that this car has less than 500 miles and that is the torque restriction (to "break-in" power-train system)....NOT because it is EX serial number or being transported around the country.
That being said, GREAT review and would love to have J's contacts in GM!
Mr .P
If only the losers at GM actually listened to people like him. On strike again and destroying the economy looking for bailouts once again
@Lazerbrainz2k3 the economy was humming along before the Great Recession too. It's always humming along until it doesn't, then everyone wonders what happened when they should have changed their business practices beforehand
They should continue to build the current version for another year along with this
@Lazerbrainz2k3 Yes, it was the auto industry bailouts from GM and other brands that caused the last Great Recession. And no, recessions are not inevitable.
I gotta say. Tadge is good at his job. No b s. No blue oval snack talk. Just good commentary. Excellent vid.
Never been a chevy guy but this car makes me want to get my credit up
I’ll definitely be buying the Hot Wheels version when it comes out.

What ive always appreciated about the Corvettes is the reliability they have over the competition. Its a car you can buy, race and daily drive on the cheap. As apposed to owning an Italian sports car.
That supercar is a bargain and a half. 0-60 in 2.8, top speed of 194mph, as well as a Nurburgring time of 7:18. All for $60k-$70k? That's why I love America.

I Swear I learned so much just watching you Jay more than anyone. I Loved your show of the young man who designed the Ford GT . Thank you Jay
55 minutes went by in a breeze. Great episode and one of the coolest guests yet!
Right , especially when he’s interviewing Clint Eastwood ( a living legend) love his movies though.
Tadge is the man, I hope he sticks around for at least the next 2 generations
2 generations? 💀😂
We got to get him on a fountain of youth drip or something, break into some CIA crap or something. Cant let Tadge get away. @Fran Galvan
@@melissahill7930 He looks older than 65.
@@melissahill7930 Thanks for that info, Melissa. I looked him up and he's 62, but his personality and enthusiasm is that of a much younger person.
I'm glad he'll be going out on such a high note in a few years ... great legacy :)
Finally a modern American sport car I like. Hits all the things I like. Good price point, nice looking, clever engineering.
Loved hearing the wealth of technical information and insight from the Corvette chief engr.
Damn they really knocked this Vette out of the park.
Save your money and get a Z06 which will be the next model released after this convertible. Pretty sure those are going to fly off the shelves like hotcakes. It will be killing cars that are double the price and more.
GM sent the right person to Jay for this C8 intro. Highly personable. One of Jay's best videos and a added boost for Corvette
Tadge Juechter is the F'ing man, knows his stuff and still articulate enough to convey the ideas. amazing, amazing stuff.
When I was at the Corvette factory a couple years ago, as a union millwright, you can just about pick up the whole chassis by yourself, that's how light the materials are
This hour felt like 15 mins.
To me it felt like 55 mins...
@@herotoall123 dang it felt like 55 min and 58 sec to me.
Crap your right. I just checked as well. Lmao
I've never been more excited to watch a 55 min video
Like Jay, seeing that beautiful Corvette makes me proud to be an American as well. What a gorgeous car and as they said, at $60k, it IS attainable for a LOT of people... (Including me!) Gorgeous, simply gorgeous!
Stay positive
Jay you’re awesome... thank you for the videos!
This Tadge guy is effin cool 😎🤙
Now, unlike the mustang mach-e. This is something people wanted
Shelby gt500 2020 sounds 5x better than this vette
Real01 S. But you gotta think about how this is the “base model”. Wait till the Z06 or ZR1
Id still take Ford GT over this, their still playing catchup. 55yrs behind
@@real01s.50 your talking about fords top model of mustang vs chevys base modle corvette
@@911sc1982 Most people would but they aren't even competing for the same customer.
Saw the convertible up Charlevoix, Michigan over the 4th of July weekend. Really made me stop in my tracks and stare at it with my mouth open. Beautiful car, very exotic looking. It was being driven by the lead interior Engineer who got to take it up for the weekend to show off.
Always loved the Vette since I can remember
This car is going to run squircles around the competition.
😄lol
Not this one, maybe the Z06 or ZR1
In '73, Austin offered the Allegro model with a squarish steering wheel, not much different in shape from the 'Squircle'. They called it 'Quartic'. It was universally hated, and was dropped after a couple of years
@@-SP. don't take this to seriously.... it's a joke
There is no competition at this price point
Their interactions are so wholesome
I bet you would have a three sum with them
@@frisbe9279 lol 😂😂 😂👍🏾
@@frisbe9279 that escalated quickly.
@@frisbe9279 yep
cant believe i watched the entire video, what a beauty, amazing machinery !!! gather up my money now
Great show Jay
Enjoyed listening
Beautiful Corvette Tadge
Great design
I like the idea of the mid/rear engine
Price range sounds great
Finally they send out an engineer rather some dufus who somehow made product specialist.
aza993a and he’s retiring, what a way to go.
EXACTLY.....not like Ford who hires a bunch of pencil pushers fresh out of school who haven't a clue about engine or vehicle design and engineering. F150, Focus dual clutch, Mustang Getrag Transmissions all perfect examples.....
Funny, a guy who has been engineering cars for 40 years is in charge of a new vehicle development......
He's the only one not out on strike
yeah the guys knows this car better than his old lady I bet.
Or like some marketing dufus.
