Notice how Christian never says "I". He always says "We". The man is the personification of humility and extremely honorable in how he conducts himself. For a man who has accomplished so much in such a short amount of time, he never hogs the credit. Top guy, definitely someone all of us should aspire to be.

That's because he is from Sweden, where team effort supersedes personal achievement (unlike American culture).

I’ve found truly successful people turn out to be really humble, a lesson taught by Andy Frisella, whom I recommend to check out if you can, but wow ain’t that really inspirational, if you wanna be truly successful, be humble... must say it doesn’t apply to celebrities like modern “rappers” and such but yea
I could listen to Christian Vonn Koenigsegg talk about his cars all day long. So involved with every aspect of his cars right down to grade and size of bolts used and engineering. Shows his love for cars as a kid and took it to a level that no one has ever done. An inspiration to all.
Same here. Have been for a couple of years and still not tired of hearing him speak about his passion.
I love how 68 yr old (?) Jay is so interested in new technology & that Christian is such an engineer at heart and loves to talk about the design aspects of his cars. Great episode!

Christian Von Koenigsegg is a very humble man. From the very start he has never had a negative word to say only praise for the competition. At the end of the day, he is an innovator who puts his money where his mouth is!
And he knows his cars inside out - never a "maybe weighs...", "maybe runs on..", "maybe makes..." Just knows the answers because he lives and breathes the product
Hes the current God of autosports.
Open Roader he puts the cars he builds were his mouth is lol
The man could give a lecture on toilet paper, and people would be fully committed to listening to his every word.
Open Roader
Yes, that is what I like about him or Elon Musk. Both humble, and geniuses in their own way!
I love how Koenigsegg was not afraid to admit that the direct drive transmission was inspired by Tesla. Very humble dude
Most piston engine airplanes use/were designed with direct drive, to save weight. High Torque efficient engines, direct out to crank/propeller.
I'm pretty sure Christian Koenigsegg is the only person who designed & engineered a masterpiece & knows everything about it
Christian Von Koenigsegg is one of the nicest, most humble and smartest villains around.

Oh I remember a documentary many years ago on Christian Koenigsegg (and his wife) when they had a Fire at the first factory. A disused Aircraft Hangar. Love the story of the Ghost logo they build into every car.
I never get tired of Mr. Koeningsegg.
Christian von Koenigsegg, the kind of guy to sell a car for $2.2 million but still cares about tire prices
Max not too bad considering that the rs is reselling for $10mil+
I imagine that the tooling required to make a tire of this caliber is well into a million dollars. For a big company to dedicate their equipment and talent into it, it’s well worth that price. When they expect to only produce a couple hundred sets, then it gets very very expensive. Koenigsegg can afford it. However when you’re only selling 80 two million dollar cars, 1 million dollars for tires is far too much to justify. Their approach as a partnership rather than an exclusive product makes a lot more sense.
Whether I have my numbers right or not is up to us to guess, but I think my hunch is in the right proportions. Tires making up 1% or more of the production cost wouldn’t work for a small company.
@Manuel love the comment lol...unless you've been to Germany you just wouldn't understand!
Max true, the guy could price tag his cars at 10 million and people would still line up to buy them. The one:1 is now selling for 12 in the aftermarket.
Makes the car usable for every day use, that is Christian's philosophy. When hammered, the car will eat rubber fast so it would be really impractical to be stockpiling exclusive tyre treads.
Christian's IQ runs faster than a Bugatti.

I love the presence that Mr. Koenigsegg gives, humble, modest, also seem determined at the same time. He also giving the presence of a leader who always put his employees first over anything else. Yeah, a leader, not a boss. I honestly would love to work with him making those rims even if it’s underpaid.
Some people said that CVK wasn't rich, because the money the company get for each car are significantly distributed for his "colleagues". But he certainly is wealthy; the Koenigsegg brand -- which includes the company's expert employees -- are definitely worth billions.
Jay is a legendary car guy and one of few individuals with the biggest and rarest car collection in the world. But he always lets his guests speak in length from their standpoint. 23 seconds.
The 1/2 mile cars that are 3K HP are far faster, of course. There are steerable versions of the 1/2 mile cars that are faster. I think Koenigsegg is simply trying to make a homologated car from a manufacturer that is very fast and he should be commended for that, but keep in mind that for far less money one can build a Lambo or Porsche with 1700 -2500 HP and be far faster.
@@stevennorsworthy2191 For less money you don't have a production car

He's deeply involved with all aspects of the manufacturing process. He practically built his first cars himself with a small support team, so he really knows his product.
I guessed so. Because he really talks about it like a proud father haha.
Amazing on every level. Brilliant.
But 1420 kg is over 3100 lbs, rather than "about 2800 lbs."
That is because that is the same man who gets his hands dirty actually working in the labs. A lot of CEOs of car companies are like 3rd and 4th generation and have never actually worked on the cars themselves. He personally oversees so much that goes into his automobiles.
It's worse than that. CEOs of car companies are just MBAs who where CEOs of airlines or tech companies before being hired. They don't have to have a passion for cars, just the skills to keep the shareholders happy.

You know he was flexing a bit there xD Still, he's awesome.
@@Shorty15c4007 they don't have it anymore
Jay is soooo content and happy like he has never been before. It's part because Koenigsegg is such a humble guy. Every time he comes to the show, it's like a Special Jay Leno's Garage episode. Love it!
You are right. Jay often talks about engineer car company owners who do things right at any cost. Von Koenigsegg deserves to be counted among the legendary (men) in the auto industry ever. He’s also a superb interview.
I have never seen a person like Christian Koenigsegg ever before . He is a great soul with awesome vision for the technology and his brand . I love his simplicity. Great man down to earth . I really like this guy . He explains so easily everything which is hard to understand LOL 😂 . But he is really a great inventor. I love this brand and this guy . Love from Himalayas 🇮🇳🫡
Koenigsegg will always be Koenigsegg❤❤
What a beautiful car Christian is the Einstein of car builders
Tesla was smarter .
Elon Musk comes first
Well said
Not really. Koenigsegg makes a profit and has an absolutely staggering amount of patents. Not to mention that Christian is an engineer and has a very active role in developing their cars. Musk is more of an idealistic business man (a role which he of course excells in).
And Horacio Pagani is the DaVinci.
Regular people: "so much torque, just like EV..."
Jay Leno: "so much torque, just like steam car..."
That's why I love him.
Gen z↑ EV....But Leno can appreciate 19th century technology so he mentions steam power...😅lol the beautiful thing is YOU STILL GOT HIS POINT.
Leno is right. Just imagine there are some 95 years and some never expected engineering in between those two cars.
And train guys “So much torque” like a locomotive!
And Jay Leno should know. He has plenty of steam cars.
The Titanium Exhaust V8 sounds INCREDIBLE. As good as or better than 427 Cobra w/side pipes .
Total Goosebumps hearing this thing !
I could listen to Christian von Koenigsegg talk about his cars all day
I couldn't. He's immeasurably arrogant
Owning a Koenigsegg is not just like owning a car it is owning a piece of history
+LaVa No, it's not, and even it was, how trivial.
Just like owning stuffed lion´s head on the wall, unnecessary.
I agree
A piece of marvelous engineering.
if this is the 1st of these cars sold, yes, it is a part of history
Does every Koenigsegg come with a Christian von Koenigsegg?
Braeden Hamson lol yeah it does😋
I come back and watch this every now and again. Truly the smartest engineer and owner alive.
Something to aspire to.
Love the sound of this car like a fire breathing dragon.
