Sadly, Ben Tramer gets no justice in any timeline. He's either run over by a car and blown up, gets his name slandered, or gets divorced by Laurie.
Doctor Wolfula, is that you?
Almost as sad as Ted Hollister.
Ben tramer is more of an idea that an actual character. Lol
He is that baby’s father!
Divorced?
Originally, the killer was going to be named Oscar Meyers and he was going to go around bludgeoning people with packs of frozen hot dogs.
Haha! Ok, now that I’d pay to see! 🔪🌭
The weiner whistle would play menacingly whenever he was near.
I enjoyed Halloween Ends a lot. I can see why it is divisive as it is more like Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer + Natural Born Killers than it is Halloween.
My personal Halloween Trilogy is Halloween, Halloween (2018), and Halloween Ends. No supernatural stuff (minus Michael surviving Loomis' gunshots). Just a killer that ages to the point where he can no longer kill - just like a normal serial killer.
Love them or hate them, in Zombies Halloween movies, Brad Dourif killed it as Sheriff.
Brad Dourif is one of the best actors of the last 50 years
I like Ends more than Kills...but they need to focus more on making this franchise way more scary moving forward. Now that they've explored the concept of what or who Michael Myers is, I'd like to see a more simple approach and have Michael Myers reach his "horrific" potential.
You explain the Halloween franchise and his timelines better than Charlie Daniels could.
Halloween + Halloween 2 + H20 = perfect trilogy
I enjoy the first two films as one complete story. They both occur on the one night and it kills off Michael.
I agree and IMO the only good Michael Myers movies. I said that instead of Halloween 1 and 2 because I actually like Season of the Witch but that's it's own thing yet still uses the Halloween name . After those the rest of the series is awful .
Wrong . 4 is great . H20 is decent.
@@julianmitchell5776 I like all of them except Ressurection and the Rob Zombie ones
I love all the Halloween films in their own unique ways, but the only essential one is the first one. 🎃
2 is essential it concludes the story
I agree. The original, like many of Carpenters films, wraps up perfectly on its own.
@@MikeG82 2 is unnecessary
@@hellion7514 unnecessary how? the movie ended on a cliffhanger, if that sequel was unnecessary than what is necessary? many people will tell you they like 2 more than 1 so how can you say it isn't essential?
@@MikeG82 It wasn’t a cliffhanger. It was a twist. The original Halloween is a self-contained movie. There was never meant to be a sequel. They only made it because the first one did huge box office. Thus… unnecessary.
With that said, I quite like Halloween 2. Just watched it the other night, in fact!
Joe grizzly was definitely an honorable mention
RIP his indigestion from that taco
@@SKREVR aye. If he could've passed that beast in peace mike would of had problems lol
@@KrisHornett_ I remember watching bonus interviews on the second disc saying that scene went awry because the actor playing MM actually slammed him around too hard and he got hurt, on top of the upset stomach
@@SKREVR damn! We coulda really lost grizzly. Mike tried to shake the taco bell out of him lol
@@KrisHornett_ And RZ said Joe couldn't stay still after his death scene, they had to still shot him laying there. Probably because he to shit his pants lol
The way you lined it up at the end with the essentials was perfect bro
Only Busta Ryhmes can defeat Michael Myers. 😂
@@KardboardKenny lots of #BDE, man strength, and cigarette breath Tom. Too manly for MM.
Halloween Ends pays a loving homage to all the movies that came before, the kid getting infected with Micheals evil is from Jamie when she got infected n couldnt fight it, halloween 3 was john carpenters dream of halloween living on without micheal but where they screwed up i feel Ends did it justice. sure you could make the movie meaner and more suspenseful but the movie we got is still great in its own right. pick your favourite n love it regardless this has been my ted talk haha
My list is short. Halloween 78 and Halloween 3 season of the witch, because it had nothing to do with the original Halloween and Tom Adkins can do no wrong, so it's basically a separate movie. The fact that poor Donald Pleasance had to endure anything past the first movie is a tragedy.
HALLOWEEN III all the way, but the first one was pretty good.
I love them all, even the 'Bad' ones...And I always enjoy a nice franchise overview...and you did an amazing job!
Also something I'd love to see ( and maybe other fans share that idea also) when a new installment is going to happen, the writers could do a continuation of the Jamie Lloyd timeline. I would love to see Danielle Harris come back as Jamie and there would be some cool pick up after part 5. After Jamie Lee Curtis, we still have one ultimate survivor in the franchise and it would be so cool to honour that second heroin and do another chapter of her character
I hope that’s where it goes next!! We can do without what comes after…..
Na, give us the continuation of 4. Make her the killer. Just to piss people off cause no Michael.
@@NYC_Goody lol… there wasn’t much Michael in ‘Ends’…. It sucked ass in so many ways…. Also the actress ‘Allison’ could never pull it off…
@@AnnieBoBannie421 that's cool man. Now give me an opinion that hasn't been regurgitated about ends.
@@AnnieBoBannie421 yes! it would be such a great continuation from another beloved Halloween character!
It was actually Irwin Yablans that sought Carpenter out, and then got funding from Akkad.
That's a big one to get wrong, right off the bat...
They got a lot wrong. Such as H20 being a direct sequel to 6. It started as one, but they decided a continuation of 2 was better and to scrap the Thorn Trilogy.
Probably an unpopular opinion because purists gotta purist, but Tyler Mane was the most intimidating and scary Michael and that version of the mask was my favorite. Also 2 needs to be in essential. You binge it with 1 and it's right up there with it! I'd argue 3 as well because it's an awesome movie.
Yeah but there are legit reasons why purists will purists, one main reason being higher ups in hollywood dont know what theyre doing.
Why does everyone say that Jamie was "suddenly psychic" in halloween 5? She had a psychic connection with Michael in 4. She dreamed about Michael at the beginning of the movie. She saw the ambulance he just escaped from outside her window in said dream
There are people who seem to feel some bizarre need to VALIDATE their dislike for that movie. They rarely pay any attention to the facts...
9:10 h 20 and halloween 4,5 and 6 don’t take place in the same time line
Yeah, even if you dislike Ends, lumping it in that tier is nuts. I just rewatched all of them after this, and honestly, it’s better than easily half the franchise.
they should do more halloween movies as an anthology series like they should have done originally
🍻
finally someone talks with sense
@@youtuber5669 Thank You
it could have worked back when they did the 3rd film had they included Michael in a cameo to please the fans, so then it could be a "rogues gallery" of classic halloween monsters that drive the franchise forward
nothing is Michael Myers fault, i blame the writers and higher ups in hollywood who dont know what they are doing, it is amazing how people fail upwards in that industry
It was originally a story of a generic killer on a generic night....it wasn't even going to be on Halloween...there was never any original intent to do an anthology...
I wish I could rewrite Halloween 🎃 cause I would try to intertwine the best parts of all the movies and make it darker
Thanks for sharing another awesome video 👏🎉
I 100% agree with your Top 4 Essentials!!! 🤩🎥🍿
Absolutely loved Ends, I'll always go to bat for it. It did something very different (Just like Halloween III) and I think that works. Michael's presence is felt through out the film (just like in the 1978 original) without him having to be on screen all the time (which, again I didn't mind) but in End's he felt more ethereal, elemental. And I really liked Cory Cunningham.
100% agree
I loved it as well! If you get the chance check out the book it’s fantastic!
As much as I love the original, I can’t help but root for Tyler Mane. That guy is a monster without the mask, and even more imposing with it. I’m 6’5, and if I saw Tyler Mane’s Michael coming at me I would run like a little girl. He really brought the brutality of Michael to the screen, and I appreciate that
I had high hopes for Rob Zombie's Halloween movies. I like the premise and trying to make Michael more grounded in reality. The execution was just awful though and none of the characters were likable in the least.
@@tonyphillips8726
There are interesting ideas but nothing comes together in a well executed fashion.
@@tonyphillips8726 I think the reason is because (outside of Laurie, Jamie or Loomis), we only really watch Halloween to see Michael killing dumb characters, so Zombie basically said fuck it, and made everyone unlikable (except for Loomis and Danny Trejo) and made a film where we actively root for Myers to kill everything in sight.
He's said himself in interviews that he always identified and rooted for the monster as a kid, so I'm pretty sure that was his thought process when making the first film, and I actually kinda like it for what it is... However, that said I have no explanation for the sequel, the film is just baffling on every possible level.
Yea! The original was so boring. It was a camera following people from a distance with almost nothing happening. The RZ reboot actually had a story from start to finish..one that you could actually follow and understand unlike its inevitable sequel.
@@chrisgreig98 and because Zombie is a huge movie monster fan he also understood that most of the monsters (especially the classic universal monster movies) mostly had tragic back stories. That is definitely on display in his reboot. He showed the reality that most killers are made, not simply born.
Halloween 3 was better than Halloween Ends.
carpenter was right, the first two and then anthology from there on out was the way to go. way more misses than hits in this series.
Lol that's just factually un true lol. Most of these are hits that made $$. Only a couple were unsuccessful
What are you talking about? Carpenter didn't want to make the second film.
Watching this all day on AMC
Yeah I'll never stop loving Michael Myers movies.
halloween 2045 micheal myers vs the retirement home
I'd put Halloween 2 on the essential because like 2018 it gives a satisfying conclusion to the Laurie Strode story aswell as an actual reason shes his target. Plays well as 1 long movie. It may bey messy to some but I actually think it's kind of cool that the Halloween franchise is like a choose your own timeline adventure lol.
All Halloweens are essential for their own reasons! Love them all even the Rob zombie shitty ones lol. Cant wait to see what the future holds. Ends was good, Corey was great character for me though so at least one was memorable lol
Imo the first rob zombie halloween wasn't shitty, just more of the same from zombie. Tho I liked it overall it could have been (and should have been) a reimagine. H2.....you got me there, it's shit 😂😂😂😂
I think the whole thing makes more sense if Michael and Laurie are brother and sister
But it's much scarier if it DOESN'T make sense.
@@aranbuzzas8000
Good story > cheap scares
Micheal Myers as a child was my favorite horror character. It's seem the only ones who ever understand Micheal was John carpenter and Debra hill wish they had made more Halloween movies together
Watching Halloween 1978 dvd right now and saw part 3 on the 22nd; it's 40th Anniversary.
I would’ve out Halloween 2 as an essential for sure. Until 2018 part 2 was literally the blue print and almost seen as just an extension of the first Halloween
I have only seen the original movie.
Micheal Myers is freaking awesome. 🎃💯
Thanks for the essential list. I hesitated on seeing any of the movies after the first but I think your essential list picks I can give a watch.
What you need to know is it was killed and ended ...happy 🎃 !
Halloween Unforgiving is the Ending Fans Deserve! 🎃
For me Halloween 1978 Halloween 2 Halloween 3 Halloween 4 and H20 they probably should have stopped after H20
@@travzimmerman1340 I enjoyed it Halloween ends was terrible
I'll pretty much watch any of them except the Rob Zombie remake and sequel. I know people defend them to the death, but his style just isn't my cup of tea. I'm not a huge fan of Season of the Witch either just because it's in a genre I don't really enjoy, but I'd still watch that before RZ's movies.
Halloween Ends DEFINITELY better than Resurrection
I don’t get the hate for the Rob Zombie Halloweens. I find them to be far superior to half of the stuff like the Thorns Trilogy or that dog shit that called Halloween Ends.
Everyone is entitled to one good scare like one good opinion even if others disagree. The only Halloween movies I’d avoid truly are Resurrection and H2 by Rob Zombie.
Glad you didn't say h1 by zombie because I actually like that one 🤷
Happy Halloween 🎃 . My favorite Halloween timeline is the original and then 2018. Kills and ends never happened in my head cannon.
Missed opportunity with the posters of the 2018 trilogy.. especially it was decided to make it a trilogy after the first. Could have done a nice triptych if Michael faced the camera on the Kills poster and added other details. But I feel like that's the story for the whole trilogy... Missed opportunity, so at least they're consistent.
I gotta say here too, I love Halloween franchise. Minus rob zombie versions. And season of the witch was actuallly cool. But felt like an adult goosebumps haha
I can’t help it. I love all the Halloween movies. Even the bad ones
Essential: Halloween 78, Halloween 2018.
Good: Halloween 2 (81) and Halloween H20.
Skip: Everything Else.
@@travzimmerman1340 you know what? I do repent. It is a terrible film and shot more like a TV movie. I was blinded by the sweeping shot of Laurie screaming MICHAEL!! whilst holding the axe.
I'd put it in the OK category.
Really, I only like H78 and H18. I dislike the brother/sister twist. I think it is scarier when he has no deeper motive like targeting his little sister.
U forgot Jim Winburn, Tom Morga, A. Michael Lerner, & Brad Hardin, they also portrayed Michael Myers.
They could make a requel trilogy to Halloween 4: the return of Michael Myers
Restore Halloween 2 and 4 to canon
Bring back Danielle Harris as Jamie, so much time has passed they could literally do whatever they want
Call it Halloween: the return of Michael Myers because Halloween requel
And retcon the requel trilogy that retconned it, it’s fucking poetic, and bring back Michael Myers in all his sister and niece killing glory, God knows fans are prolly hungry for that after Halloween ends
At least that’s what I’d do
I liked Halloween ends, I liked the story for what it was, me personally I probably wouldn’t have used that particular story to wrap the trilogy, but I just needed a bit more of Laurie and Michael fighting kind of like their 2018 fight.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN JOBLO
I stil feel bad for Ted Hollister. He was drunk and hiding in a bush. Then he got mowed down for no reason. Then he was forgotten about like Halloween 5
Halloween 5 was hardly 'forgotten about'...the white trash fans still love to excoriate it...and the more discerning fans like myself still rank it in the top 3...
eh, i gotta say that halloween the first movie is probably the best ones of all
The Curse of Michael Myers, number 5, RZH 1&2 and Halloween 4 are the ones to avoid.
Forgetting Sheriff Meeker is a sin
I honestly think that another reboot/new timeline is in order for the next phase in the Halloween franchise, where you have Michael's backstory kept intact in but taking place in the past of our current modern era, somewhere in the 2000s or 2010s. We have Michael, Doctor Loomis, a new set of victims, NO Laurie Strode or familial connections, not to mention idiotic Cults & Curses.
I don't think Michael should be explained any further than what Doctor Loomis described him to be, and any supernatural aspects should lean towards vague despite the obvious visuals.
@JoBlo Horror Originals could you please make a video about WTF You Need To Know: Friday the 13th Franchise
I still never got why Annie didn't answer Laurie on the phone because she was...chewing? You can't say "it's me," when you're chewing lol
The Halloween Multiverse🎃🌌
Halloween 2 was a fantastic sequel
Best trilogy: Halloween 1&2, H20
@@travzimmerman1340 it's better than most of the Halloweens
Was actually irwin yablans who wanted John carpenter to make Halloween and they went to mustafa to distribute it. Not mustafa wanting John to make a horror movie
Halloween (1978), Halloween 2 (1981), Halloween 3, Halloween 4, Halloween (2018), Halloween kills, Halloween Ends, H20, Halloween 2 (2009) Halloween (2007) Halloween 5, Halloween 6, Halloween Resurrection
I don't feel Halloween II (1981) doesn't get the respect it deserves but that's just my $0.02.
"Halloween Ends wrapping up the Laurie Strode saga"... Until 2038 when Jamie Lee gets her usual 20-year itch and wants another paycheck🙄🤦
i thought that that guy in the asylum qouting off serial killer facts was memorable i want to make a case that he was the same guy that was on the bus with michael in 2018
I know this is a hot take but I actually enjoyed Halloween ends yes it has flaws but it was a damn fun time when I watched it
Not gonna say how Danielle Harris is Annie?
It’s the best part of the Zombie movies.
I was just about to ask the same question!
@@swrcomswrcom5306 100% agree!
Dr Loomis!!
I only like the rob zombie halloweens because Annie was in 2 films with Danielle Harris was in 4. I love her
Wrong. Jaimie Lloyd does not exist in the H2O timeline
Sean Patrick Thomas deserves a honorable at least he actually fought Michael 😂
Halloween movies worthy of your full attention: Halloween II (1981) and Halloween III - Season of the Witch;
Halloween movies that could be considered decent time wasters: Halloween (1978), Halloween 4, 5 and 6, Halloween Kills;
Halloween movies useful as hilarious over-the-top trash: both Rob Zombie Remakes and Halloween Resurrection;
Halloween movies as in worthless trash: Halloween H20 and Halloween 2018;
Haven't seen yet: Halloween Ends
I'll never understand the hate for the zombie movies. They are far better than half of the other Halloween movies. And Tyler Mane is absolutely terrifying as Michael. Ater James Jude Courtney(who redefines the role in my opinion) he's my favorite Michael. Also, I think Halloween 3 shouldn't be included in this series and just called season of the witch cuz it has no connection whatsoever and should just be a standalone movie unto itself.
Pretty sure H20 disregards all sequels except for 2. So in that timeline there is no Jamie Lloyd
Ends was great. Wtf is wrong with people?
Halloween 78' and the sequel from 81 are my top 2. Followed by 4 lol and I have a soft spot for curse.then it's 2018 followed by kills then rob zombies Halloween. Next we have Halloween ends and H20. Comin in last places Halloween 5, resurrection and rob zombies Halloween II. two dog shit films. Season of the witch is at the end because it's Micheal Myers who to me represents the series but it is a great stand alone horror film and I truly enjoy it more then some other Halloween movies lol
Halloween Ends > Halloween Kills
People really didn't get what the newest trilogy was trying todo and it's just sad.... 1st was a homage to the 1978 film. Kills was a homage to halloween ll and ends was a homage to season of the witch. Smh... ends will be appreciated with time just like season of the witch.
I actually really enjoyed the first rob zombie film because of Michael’s backstory. His 2nd one was a letdown. Halloween kills and Ends were trash that didn’t need to be made. Resurrection is bad also. Didn’t care for season of the witch, and I’m indifferent on revenge and curse. The original, part 2, and h20 would’ve been a good trilogy. IMO.
Ends and resurrection are definitely the worst imo. But for some reason I really love the 2 zombie movies.
there's ONE timeline, the original-resurrection. the rest are imitations, the blumhouse trilogy, is it;s own thing, just pointless cash grabbing REMAKES, then there's rob zombie's remake and it;s follow up. the story is simple, after Halloween II, laurie fled, michael was thought to be dead. then, a seperate event happened in Halloween 3, 4, evil returns, laurie has ''died''. her daughter was put up for adoption (to protect her) so, michael does his thing, we find out he is a pawn of a cult, but breaks that curse. then, finds his way to Laurie, who had changed her name, but, still haunted by her attacks, (hence her nightmares) she is re-united with her BROTHER, explains to her boyfriend she faked her death (explains why she ''died'' in part 4) and yea. then resurrection happened. THAT'S IT.
There are 4 legitimate Halloween movies....1, 2, 4, and 5. Everything else was just them trying to fix something that was never broken.
I'm interested in doing a real legit fan film....
But would want to be paid for the proceeds. Does anyone know if that would be legal?
1. Halloween
2. Halloween 2018
3. Halloween 2
4. Halloween 4
5. H20
6. Halloween 5
7. Halloween 6
8. Halloween Kills
9. Halloween Ends
Avoid:
10. Halloween Ressurection
11. Rob Zombie
12. Rob Zombie 2
It's time 2 see Michael Myers in hell, & see the slashers in a team.
Hey JOBLO Can you Cover The Return of the Living Dead Franchise.
You got it!
Michael's house has more looks than Madonna.
How did he say in the 2018 version that Michael and Laurie wasn't related did he watch the movie 🍿
H20 is a direct sequel to the second film and ignores the thorn trilogy.
This dudes voice is something else
RZ halloween 2 had great kills but Loomis was terrible in that one and taking off the mask is a Capital Sin!
Man, I liked Rob zombie's halloween. It was a decent horror movie.
Rachel was a likeable final girl.
My math isn’t the greatest but if the Laurie/Michael showdown was 10 mins then how is it possible that we only get Michael on screen for 5 mins total? Lol.. obviously I wasn’t thrilled w how long it took for him to show up on screen but once he finally does like 35-40 mins in I don’t have any complaints on his usage from there on out, imo they were able to use that time in the front half of the movie to flesh the Corey character out(I thought I was gonna hate the addition of him in this film) which for me worked really well because I really enjoyed the scrap yard scene when Corey had the mask on as well as the doctors house and the radio station kills.. idk man for me personally I ended up not having nearly as much of an issue w the direction this movie ended up going in compared to most fans but I also was ready for them to take a shot at trying something new for once rather than Michael just goes around killing ppl until the final act n then we have n ambiguous ending, I applaud the filmmakers n writers for taking a swing band for me, it worked.. it’s def I’m top 5 for the franchise
Most people are reasonable in why they didn't like it being that it would of worked far better as a 2nd film to further flesh out Corey. You don't do this for a finale.
H20 ignores 4, 5, and 6. Laurie didn't have Jamie in this timeline
I actually think Halloween ends was a good movie, in the same sense that season of the witch was a good movie, but they both miss something critical and that’s the main man himself doing his thing.
Spoiler ahead*
I almost walked out of the theatre when Corey ran up on Michael “master splinter” Myers in his sewer, clutched the 1v1 and stole his mask. I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS. It was worse than in Halloween kills when fake loomis walked into the house at the beginning and started yelling at the cops.
I think this latest trilogy of films is good but they commit grave sins that are unforgivable and because of these sins, I won’t be watching again.
Do not compare ends to 3. 3 didn't need Michael and was an awesome movie regardless.
@@NYC_Goody 3 is an excellent movie and a must watch for me every Halloween. I think ends could be in a similar category if it too excluded Michael Myers. I thought the motif of the grand daughter falling in love with the psycho Corey and how trauma bonding with people can lead to dangerous entanglements was a cool idea
@@taylorjamesmovies it was a neat idea for an angle that I thought was executed poorly. I thought she Allyson was rushing the relationship way too fast. It was the moment he walked into the clinic. My favorite parts of ends was when Corey was on his own doing the killings. So I'd agree I'd like it even more if it didn't feature Michael at all. Especially him getting manhandled.
