I think it depends on your region too. In Canada the Steam deck is quite a bit more expensive than a Switch. The Switch used market here is pretty good too.
But what about games prices? For the price of one single Mario game I can build an entire steam library
hello I'm ken and i want to give my opinion on witch one i would rather pick for me as a student in Malaysia studying electronic i would prefer steam deck over Nintendo switch because for me i would like to get that portability and productivity that steam deck has to offer.
Ok when he said the pokemon running better on the steam deck oled, that’s not true. I have the steam deck oled and emulated pokemon violet and scarlet, and they both run at 20-25fps respectively. They don’t run well, and yes I’ve tried to use the mods that give 60fps but as of today, in 2024 those are outdated and won’t work anymore. Now I’ve tried the same emulation on my Lenovo Legion Go, used some 60fps mods,(was a lot to even find btw) and get a solid 45fps on both games BUT the battery dies really fast on the handheld which sucks. The steam deck oled and the switch have better battery life but can’t run the games well. The Lenovo legion go runs the games well but has horrible battery life. I wish the new devices will be better in the future.
i wish Nintendo sell them game on pc
That would be the dream
I disagree that the Switch is the budget king. I was considering getting one until I looked at the store. Almost every game was $60, even if it was years old. The Steam Deck might be a little more expensive, but you don't have to pay for online and the games are much cheaper. Emulation is just the cherry on top.
I have both and prefer the Switch.
1. Cheaper
2. Huge library of games that all work
3. No messing about with settings & controls
4. More portable and a wider range of chargers work with it.
The Deck is better for the enthusiasts who don't mind having to spend a lot of time trying to get games to run at all and then more time getting the controls to work.
Emulation
Games that work! You mean Batman Arkham Knight.
These isnt a fair comparison. Its like asking to choose between a ps5/xbox and pc. Two different devices for different use cases. You can somewhat argue to get ps5 over a pc coz of exclusives but you can fully emulate a switch on a pc as powerful as a steamdeck
Both if you can...
neither. Get an Ayn odin 2 pro.
If you want a cheap alternative simply take your phone buy a backbone and its basically the same thing
@@Strangedude48 yeah I'd recommend that but not everyone has an android. Like myself, I have an iphone. But yeah, I'd say use your android phone if you have a relatively new and powerful chipset.
