Favorite. Drum Break. Evar.
I’m forever thankful to have been in the audience that night.
2008 was a great year overall
Top 6 was showin out
i dont know how this placed 3rd, i mean spartacus was incredible but this deserved at least a tie for 1st
Andrew Cerny for for first hits too close to home for me
Spartacus was literally show that you’d see in DCI now, way ahead of its time over 10 years ago. This show here deserved 2nd over BD but no way did it top PR in 08. GE score was off the charts
@@onwisconsin1794 the clearly linear storyline with the crowd involvement had never been done like that before, not like that. Not to mention how clean their drill, guard and percussion were that last night. Also, fans who were watching every night scores or otherwise will remember phantom went from Allentown to the last day in indy with each day 4th 3rd 2nd semi’s 1st finals. They *fought* for first place and earned it.
@drew
It's just you. The percussion took 2nd that year.
ghyprh Nice. Casella's book ftw!!
Ahhh... The good 'ol Gaines days. Not that they're bad now. Cavies still kick bootay.
I come back to this every once in awhile. It makes me happy every time.
Those freaking visuals!!!! And everything!! ❤️❤️❤️
On the 7/8 part, it sounds like the cymbals are giving a war cry. It might be the sound configuration from the camera, unless they intended for the cymbals to sound that way. Either way it sounds epic.
Man.... I miss these Cavaliers ;(
this has to be my favorite show of all time
That drum break though!
The dude in the beginning was war machine telling his tank story with that facial "oomph"
" BOOM YOU LOOKIN FOR THIS?!"
the Cavaliers are so iconic
Greatest drum break of the season
my fav show
I love the Cavaliers show I thought it was incredible. I think they should've gotten 2nd only to the Blue Devils.
I thought Phantom won that year though...
The Undertaker Oh shit. Whoops. I guess I misspelled.
One of my favorite shows of all time. But phantom blew it out of the water
I wouldn't say out of the water
@@thephantasticfoolI would
Loved this show!
I can't believe this only got 3rd that year.
That would be such a fun show for color guard
One word, epic
People would be screaming about "cultural appropriation" not realizing that the MAJORITY of non-returning people in this show are Japanese
Edit: and that this was the first year they held camps in Japan, thus the decision to celebrate the rich history of feudal Japan
favorite show by them!
Quintessential cavaliers
My car was made in 2008! 😻
侍
doon doon doon.... KA KA.... doon doon doon doooon KA KA HEY!
This would've won in 2009
lol, definitely just you bro
They should have been first.
1:35 might be one of the best moments in dci history
I hate the director's of DCI broadcast with a passion. You always have really cool things going on with the drumline during the drum solos. Funny how that is. These idiots always want to show you the band out there running around and full field shots. It would have been really cool to see the drums performances. They always do this. This goes back to the 70s. I hate them.
Is it just me or does the drumline sound INSANELY dirty? :/
The percussion break was a late season change if I remember.
Cultural appropriation! Cancel the 2008 Cavies! 😂
I’m ruined. I see the progressive narrative in 12 year old drum corps clips now.
