It's vital for people to understand that the deadlift is a pushing leg exercise, not a pulling back exercise. Not at all to say it doesn't work the back, but if you treat it like a pull, you will hurt your low back. Treat it like a standing leg press, and stick your rear out. That helped fixed my deadlift. Ironically, focusing on that, and not keeping my back flat, actually helped keep my back flatter and kept it from bending on heavier weights.
Love this! Thank you for sharing
It's still a hip dominant move unlike the leg press which is knee dominant. It's a pull for the simple fact your arms being attached to the bar, otherwise it's a hip thrust.
@@ericcarson342 your arms do almost no mechanical work on the deadlift.
Yes, it's more like a hip thrust than a leg press, but in terms of the mechanics, it's absolutely a push (which the hip thrust and leg press both are).
Well defined👍
The problem is that you can't do this pushing motion with the legs with light weights. Your back comes in too easily. So beginners starting with low weight always learn wrong.
The thing I have noticed and appreciate about most female trainers is that they focus on the fundamentals and not the weight. ✌🏾✌🏾
The women are also more relatable, strength-wise. The huge ripped fitness dudes are on another planet. One us natty guys will never visit! 😂
Yes 100% and did you see how consistant her reps where. I normally whatch all videos on 2x speed and that makes most wiggles and sways more obvious but she looked like a robot (in a good way). Check 5:15 at 2x speed, uncanny.
yes this is awesome. it kind of goes across most sports. i’m a not great at golfing but i do golf a lot and i actually enjoy watching women’s golf more because everything is so smooth and technical. the men are better athletes (i don’t mean this negatively towards women) so they do a lot more stuff in their swings. same with women’s basketball, i actually don’t like watching that but if you wanna learn technical and the right way to play, they can’t play above the rim so it’s good for young kids to watch the basics from professional women
i think this is the best deadlift tutorial on YT. showing how to brace every rep is amazing!
this is so great! love how she breaks everything down especially the breath work. also talks about everyone's form being different which is straight facts. gotta appreciate her non-cookie cutter bs that a lot of other fitness coaches claim
loving this series, so informative and helpful
I love these videos. Your advice always helps me so much!
This is the best deadlift tutorial that I’ve seen! Mad respect Kelly. Shoutout from Stockholm 🙏🏾
Probably the best video I’ve seen on deadlifts. Love you content😮💨🙏
Wow. Awesome instruction. I've lifted off and on my whole life. At 67 AND after 3 hip replacements I'm finally getting into dead lifts to recover my butt, lol. After a few months, I can say they work.
Best,
Steve
Extremely helpful! Thank you so much for this tutorial. 👍

More great content Kelly. Must admit I tried deadlifts once and really hurt my lower back, so I’ve stayed away since then…
Got on the platform and did them yesterday and they were not as scary as they seemed! Thanks Miss Kelly 🫡
Excellent presentation. Best I have ever seen
Thank you for the great content. I trust you and find you very reliable.
Please do a q&a on your fitness journey
So helpful! Thank you!!
Luv @ first sight. Always mention about mistakes so we can learn
Great video! Thank you👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
This was so helpful Thanks so much 😊
Thank you for this!!!! 👍🏽👍🏽
This is one of the best videos on deadlifts. Clarity in explanation, proper demos and awesome camera work.
She reminds me of Rachel Weisz (the mummy movie actress)
Definetely agree😊
Thank you started deadlifts today felt kinda discouraged as people stare . I’m trying to build my core and I wanted to make sure I’m not waking up tomorrow with back pain. Thank you 🙏
Kelly, youre a piece of art.
Big, huge fan of your tiktok and so glad you're here too! Just wanted to share, I ruined my feet doing deadlifts etc barefoot. Gave myself plantar fasciitis and had to take 3 months off which was the worst. Saw a podiatrist and physio and they both said the same and that it's becoming more common
This video is golden! Can we get more? RDLs? Good mornings?
great video as always
Excellent tips
needed this! I attended a deadlift party and was able to do 47 consistently and paid for it over the next 4 days with Lower back pain
Are deadlift parties a thing? 😂
Excellent explanation... I appreciate how you brake down each point....getting me some straps!.❤
brake down🤨

I’ve been wanting to improve my deadlifts!
I love your videos I aspire to be a goated trainer like you one day❤️
Well explained.
Great video!
This has been the absolute best tutorial. Thank you
useful video thank you
Wow great! My only question is what makes us figuring out the high of our hips in our starting position?I struggle to find the sweet spot and wondering if i do my deadlift "squatty" too much. How can i know if my hips are too low or to high at the beginning of the deadlift?
Love your content!! Can you please help me finding out which deadlift is best for me? I am a short person(162cm) with long torso, but I also have long femur bones but the rest of my legs (from the knee to the ankle) is short?
greatest video i've ever seen 👍
Also engaging your lats is very imp. You are unknowingly doing it but didn't mention it.
Wow!! She is mesmerizing.

5:35 -5:50 whoever is behind the camera falls in love with their job all over again 😁
Opinions on lifting barefoot: does that make your feet stronger? Id think so because your shoes normally keep the foot steady, not sure how to explain that better..
Strong legs, you look grate!!!, do you do competitions?.
What is the better way to set up weights ?
I tried sumo dl instead of regular dl yesterday and I lowered the weight and omg it felt so weird and I wrong that I only did one set lol
Please enable download option so that i can also watch your videos whenever i wanted
Nice video
Hookgrip, it’s better than mixed grip or straps
How many times a week should one do deadlift. I have been doing twice a week for last six months and I do around 160 pounds max..
New sub
You cut 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Tolle Trainerin ❤❤❤❤❤
🙏🏻
I love your training clothes 😘
Above all else, heavy deadlifts are first a leg press, or the risk of back injury is greater.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Once I understood it's pushing with your legs I made progress.
She looks good
❤
I'm a 44 year old man. Not a pervert. I just enjoy art and exercise. I don't do deadlifting now, because I'll do my back in. What can I do, that won't hurt my lower back?
😍
" Raw dogging of the ground "😂
Did she say something, I'll have to watch it again
I’m all about “getting the glutes in the party”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Omg what this beauty and elegance 🌹❤💋💍
Explained very well but they’re not worth it in my opinion. I hurt my back which was entirely my fault but it sidelined me for months. There a plenty of exercises that work those muscles without the risk to your back. Not saying don’t do deadlifts just please keep your form consistent and don’t try to lift too much.
I know it’s a me issue but these bother my back.
These compound movements aren't for everyone. I've never been able to squat safely. I leg press instead.
Hey you are cool and cute as well
Raw doggin’ , come to the party…
Camera work absolutely make no sense for an instructional video. Step a few steps behind and stop moving the camera up and down. Show the person while she is talking not parts of the body. And most importantly: Get a fixed position for the example sets. Moving up and down with the weights creates the impression that you are lifted. Secondly it's a compound movement you need to show the whole body.
2 things.. you should focus on driving your heals through the floor. Rounding your back is not Ok! If you get into that bad habit and you start pulling heavier weights you are asking for a lower back injury especially if you have tight hamstrings. The deadlift is a great excercise, but also dangerous if not done properly.
you are so beautiful!
:) 🤪😊
she said rounding your back is okay, brahhhh WTF LOL
yes booboo
Please marry me...not the other guys that ask...just me
She has terrible morning breath....
And not a single deadlift was performed
Are you sure?
?
Imagine this girl with no tattoos and no bull earrings. But that's what you get, progressives.
Be different, stop wearing tights as your outer clothing. But you won't, and we all know why 😉
Getting distracted from the content?
@dadbod7510 not at all. sad to see so many people scared to speak the truth. why are so many women eager to show every crease of their body on CZcams - she can get just as many if not more views without doing so...
These are shorts, not tights 😊
@@Tigerman303 short and tight.
Those tight T-shirts don't look good on you.
why do you shake your head around when you talk. looking like a bobblehead😂
Men on the internet 🙄🙄🙄
It's her channel. She can do whatever tf she wants.
You're weird
