I wish I knew this when I had braces. I had to use entire packs of wax in a day because I had to line every single one of my teeth top and bottom with wax because the brackets were cutting into my lips and cheeks daily. There was a lot of blood, I still have scars on the inside of my mouth from it. But they never gave me enough wax and when I asked for more they told me "you shouldn't be going through that much wax that fast" and refused me. God I do not miss braces

I had certain times where my wire would hook on to my inner cheek, and it would rip, swell, and then stick again just to rip and repeat the cycle. No amount of wax would work, it kept falling off, and the Dentists and Dental Assistants were absolutely no help. I wish I had this info on alternative options before, because it would have saved me a lot of pain. I wish you all well with your journeys with Braces. And I'm sorry to hear about your painful experiences.
guys one of the best things that worked for me was just letting the braces cut my mouth, and even though it hurt pretty badly, eventually my mouth built callus's and I didn't feel the wires anymore. Imo it was worth to go through some pain so that now I don't have to rely on wax all the time
I have a spring right now and that's honestly the only part that really bothers me. It cuts up my cheek/lip pretty bad. But I started using my wax and it was like heaven 🙌
As someone who has braces for almost 5 years (had to restart) it’s so much better to just let your mouth callous. If you get used to the wax you’ll have to keep buying it and keep dealing with it. I got used to my braces after a couple of days and never needed wax.

@@albaaviles7148 I used to get that especially when my teeth were moving closer together. My dentist always told me to go in whenever and they could clip off the ends a little if they became too long. But wax can definitely help make that more bearable.

I have a tip, don’t use anything at all. Yes it will hurt for a bit however your skin will get used to it, meaning it’ll build up protection. Your skin won’t break anymore after some time

Bentist is 110% correct. I had some seriously gnarly stuff in my mouth when i was getting ortho work done. Wax is amazing if you take the time to apply it properly, dry the area, really warm it in your hand, and use enough to fit all the way round the bracket. But for daily wear and regular hot-spot use you are going to want what he is talking about in this vid.

Gosh i remember when i had my braces. The inside of my lips always had an open hole on one of the fangs. Not only did i have a painful hole inside my mouth, the brace on my fang would get stuck in it and pull on it. Ugh the memories hurrrt
This saved my life when I went on holiday. my back brackets weren't put in properly and they broke whilst I was on holiday, but luckily I brought wax and it saved me the pain I would have felt.

i've had braces for almost a year and a half now, and for me, the wax never worked. i tried it multiple times. even tried to use it when my wire snapped, but it didn't do much for me. i find if you're in pain or you're getting canker sores, bruises, or anything else, coconut oil works really well! put a nice glob of it wherever your pain is and do that a few times every day. it's helped me a lot 💞

The wax never stuck to the springs and it just fell off every time I tried to use it. Braces weren't all that terrible for me, but those springs... hated it so much.

As someone who has braces for almost 5 years (had to restart) it’s so much better to just let your mouth callous. If you get used to the wax you’ll have to keep buying it and keep dealing with it. I got used to my braces after a couple of days and never needed wax.
