“Salí con alguien y terminamos y no le volví a hablar en unos cuantos meses. Escribí sobre el en ‘The Altar’ y me sentí bastante incómoda. Es raro cuando escribes sobre alguien y probablemente ellos lo sepan- Pongo todo en mi música, y la gente a la que amo y que me ama probablemente sepan que lo haré. Pero no hablé con él después de un largo tiempo. Unos años más tarde, terminé viéndolo otra vez, y me tocó esta canción que había comenzado pero que nunca había terminado, pero era sobre mi, y era un verso de ‘Godless’. Fue como una pequeña semilla, y yo estaba como ‘oh dios, necesito terminar esta canción’. Es algo gracioso- somos buenos amigos ahora, pero es como si no pudieras obtener mayor cercanía de una relación hasta que colaboran en una canción sobre lo que pasaron, supongo.”
