Occasionally you can keep a low straight and play it out in the back end of a hand. I surprised my opponent by playing a A23 straight off a 20 count recently. Great video!

This is a great game to pass from father to son, or for spouses to play ad infinitum. And in which other game does his Nibs get his Nob out
There is or was one how-to video on cribbage on CZcams which mentioned keeping score with pen and paper. I would not recommend this. You can pick up a cribbage board with pegs for less than $20 online.
Or a few bucks at a second hand store ;)
