Everything about this video, the knowledge given, the scenery, the background music, surgically dismantling a smooth-brained troll… is just perfect. More of these please
I have to agree..... Stuff we all should already know.... But some people 🙄
Shadow systems into smoldering coals, the Alpha male equivalent of a mic drop.
"4D Smooth Brain..." That's my new favorite. 🤣🔥
YES!!!! more fireside chats!!!
Teach them that they are not even sposed to be lookin through the dot housing period....tape up the front of the dot and force target focus ...thats the way to shoot all red dots period .. great info as always
There is an incredible thread here on the interwebs called "people correcting people incorrectly". Its equally incredible how confident some of these "smooth brains" are, while being completely incorrect. Its extremely entertaining.
The explanation on cowitness and parallax was nice. never heard it laid out so well.🤘🏻
Watch sage dynamics
Nicely put, straight to the point, great info, no obnoxious intro.
thanks for the vid
I'm taking this advice because I know Mines been off and I haven't been adjusting it correctly. Thank you Overton!
Just picked up my first dot, perfect timing to get some trusted information.
Why do you trust him? 🤔
Thanks for the parallax explanation.
I now understand what I'm seeing better.
Gotta love when someone’s rocking a sphere between the ears. Makes for great and almost overly informative content that helps all us smooth brains who actually want to earn some wrinkles.
I'm new to red dots and I literally did this the 2 days ago with my new red dot because it seemed like common sense. It was totally off at first and I wanted to at least have it close in case I needed to use it... so I adjusted the dot to the tip of my irons AS IF I was going to shoot using my irons... now I know the bullet will at least hit close to the dot
"Welcome to the conversation, smooth brain" hahaha
My wife is having some troubles with shooting low left and I’m definitely going to teach her that method. Thanks, appreciate these style videos.
Just have her aim high right lol it’s kinda like my golf swing.. when I’m having a bad slice kinda day, I just aim more left. Problem is, that’s when I start hitting it straight and ends up equally as bad of a shot
I appreciate the parallax explanation
I just started watching your channel, and you have become my favorite CZcamsr
And that's the reason we use dots, much faster to dot the target instead of aligning irons on target
This is probably the very best comment breakdown I’ve ever seen. Bravo!!!!!!🥳👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My “inner monologue” isn’t as much me hearing a voice as much as it is pictures. I feel like I think in pictures in general, even when I’m thinking about words, it’s like words on a page.
You should have both I suspect . I do
Actually this is common. A little known fact is that not everyone has an inner dialogue. It’s a psychological phenomenon still being studied.
@@hindsight2022 I’m not sure, like, I don’t hear a literal voice, though I do think to myself quite often. I am not like genius level smart, but I’m average or slightly above in that regard, so I don’t think it’s an intelligence thing lol. But all that said, I have ADHD, and I wonder if the thinking in pictures thing is related to that. I also like to draw, so perhaps it’s that. No clue.
One of my favorite videos you've made
#1 Love the reviews!
Holy shit, I actually felt my brain wrinkle while watching this… I did not know! 🧠
Ive always wondered if the paralax knob could be used as a rough range estimater .
Great explanation and demonstration of parallax!
I appreciate all of the knowledge that you share. That easy comment is so clever
He actually dropped it in the fire lmao
Absolute proof...
You are my new best friend
Bro i learn smth new in ur every video... the paralax thing 👌
Thanks for the info. Ive always used bore lasers to zero my red dots but next time i go to zero a pistol ill try this out
Did not know this, thank you
We need more videos like this.
I'm very new to red dots. I really appreciate this video. Thanks for learnin me somfin 🤣
I mean, my eyes are weird. For some reason I consistently hit low right with the factory irons on my guns. It’s consistent across platforms, and others are much closer to zero. For whatever reason with a red dot it’s much less of a problem. But that is also with the dot a bit above the iron sights for clearer los.
Edit: this is only for handguns. I can hit all day long shooting skeet. I rarely use irons on rifles, but when I do it’s not a problem, possibly due to the longer sight radius.
I was taught to "lollipop" the red dot on your front sight post. That being said, this was the Army in the early 2010s, so not necessarily the best teacher.
Yeah nope, Bisect or if you want to get SUPER precise... Top Top... Top of dot, On the top of the front post. Technically, if you're super autistic, You should take precise shots aiming with the very top of the dot.
Best explanation ever. And yes this is "correct"
Wrinkling my brain watching your videos
Give us more of these 🪑🔥🔫🔥
How do you like the olight red dot?
I feel dumb for asking but… how did the optic fare to the fire?
haven't looked
Almost took a shadow systems pistol in a trade once and I'm glad I didn't, after watching you last few videos
Put the fuckin dot on the fuckin thing, and you’ll hit the fuckin thing….
Hell yeah BRUTHER
Always remember... if you let them shenan once, they will shenanigan.🧐
Good video
jesus christ didnt die for this
They do line up... With a 25 y zero my dot it a little higher than my front iron.... But yes you can shoot it anywhere in the window... That's why we have dots... It's still be closer to my 1" sticker than most people shooting with irons. Slaving is a zero trick for making faster in the very beginning. Hold the pistol perfectly straight behind your eye... It will be aligned with your irons.
Haha jokes on you . I dont have a front sight .. spent so much on my rmr i could buy sights ... Lol first world problens .
Just ordered a 407k 6moa dot for my 43x. How do you feel about tungsten guide rods tho for example
Great video explaining parallax, would you mind explaining why the 25 yard zero is preferable to a 10 yard zero?
The range near me only goes to 20 which is kinda cringe, would it be worth it to go out somewhere to actually sight in at 25
yes it would. Uhhhh, we can go into that on tomorrows video.
@@OvertonWindex nice 👍
Montana looking background.
Dude! is that FIRE ?
6:35 obvious cut is obvious. You should include the panic running you did in between cuts.
I see This RMR mounting kit for Glock MOS? whats that sealing plate about?
How do people not test the thing in their minds eye, and either through trial and error, experiences advice, or moment of logical clarity, understand the truth?
Damn why didn’t you include my comment?
“You don’t know what you’re talking about”
Lmaoooo
I dont think he knows how dots work either. If you sight in your dot it will automatically be slaved. The bullets hit where the irons line up, you move the dot to where thw bullets hit. Hence slaved
Do you believe that at the end a Glock is really you'll ever really need?
A pistol should be used to get to a rifle if in the end. And water is also pretty important.
@@RungunBisnus I get that but I'm asking for a duty point of view. But I like your answer.
A reliable weapon system should be something in your toolbox but it will never be all you need if shit does hit the proverbial fan.
@@2amichaeljwhen not if
@@banjerpicker5273 shhhhhh 🤫people might start calling you crazy
Wow, that first comment was ret@rded. The dot will separate from the irons when you only use the dot
Really starting to love your stuff but why do you hate the shadow systems so much. I understand the trigger mechanism shifting the slide sucks, for a $1000 gun that’s ridiculous but I don’t think that’s enough to completely hate the gun. To me it’s still going to be greatly more accurate than what most people could shoot anyways. As far as the trigger goes, I think a brand new SS feels better than a brand new Glock but that’s just my opinion. I know you mentioned the mag well being fragile, I’ve never had a problem with that and I’ve never heard of that problem before. All the other upgrades are just things I would prefer over a Glock without having to spend hundreds more just to do it aftermarket to another gun. The mounting system is awesome, the irons, slide serrations, stippling, back straps and threaded barrel are all just upgrades that I would want to do to a Glock anyways but this saves me an extra $1500 of having to do it aftermarket.
Either way I guess I’m just a smooth brain but I’d just like a more in-depth explanation about your opinions on the firearm as a whole
Also the trigger has been greatly upgraded for the newer models
Poor soul
@@Frank-uw5xq why?
I like to sight in my pistol dot at 50 yards
Why?
15 and 25 will still have you on target at 50 to 100 yards.
@@Schultz344 I notice when shooting my pistol sighting it in at 50 its easier for me long range or up close when having to transition from 5 yards out to 100 or more it just works well I've tried all different distences and this just feels best to me
I cowitness my pistol dot with supressor height irons. But i'm in the fudd minority.
You're in the Wrong.
How dare you sit there giving advice with a nice fire going and not enjoy a cigar… in that landscape
The red dot bullet follows one path and the iron sight bullet follows a different path. Depends what ammo your running. Get back to work, I want a better review on that olight thing so I can get a few of them. Try harder man, you had a week off for your heart deal.
I did? Haha and here I thought that was the most hectic week in 8 years
8:35 I will never conquer the flinch. I’m not afraid of it, I’m just an overthinker and I’ve lived my entire life anticipating what’s next so I’m always prepared.
Have someone load snap caps in between live rounds for you.
@@wanderingcalamity360seriously considering something like this because I am seriously struggling to get past that anticipation. It’s not because I’m afraid of the recoil, I’ve just been anticipating things my entire life to mitigate the consequences and I can’t turn it off.
@@donaldham308
The anticipating thing you're doing is a skill that is beneficial in most circumstances.
But it is hampering you in terms of precision with firearms.
I can't really tell you to "just disregard the recoil and focus on the target" because I know it's not as easy as that, even though that's really what you need to do.
I'd suggest doing a few back-to-basics range trips where you have someone else load your mags with random dummy rounds throughout and try to practice the exercise mentioned in the video until you're not flinching anymore.
It's not an insurmountable habit.
And that anticipation has its uses in working through more complex things like reloads, malfunctions, courses of fire, battle drills, etc... You just can't let it hold you back when it comes to controlling your weapon.
You'll get there.
Just take your time and be patient with yourself.
@@wanderingcalamity360agreed. And thanks for the tips and understanding instead of the usual internet interaction of condescension and trolling lol
@@donaldham308
Best of luck to you.
Hope it helps.
Lol..... Using a RDS..... Irons matter none.... Back up irons only matter if your RDS goes down... 🙄
That's a dumb...
