I feel this crowd was very Canadian and very white middle class. Like they seemed to miss, or not allow themselves to laugh at stuff that would definitely get laughs from most crowds. Like the meeting starting late. It seemed like none of them got it...

duh. Chappell kinda fckd him over though. He never mentions that part of his story... that he also bailed on his close friend, and demanded that he not even finish producing what was already filmed.

Might be them just practicing pacing and timing of jokes...a lot of times the comedians on this channel say their thoughts on how the joke went out loud.

THIS is the set that made me love him outside of Dave. The evidence of how go he is is how comfortable he was making this audience that wasn't with him uncomfortable. Irrefutable evidence that he is actually down with us. Bravo.

So there was an SNL segment of Weekend Update not too long ago, and Colin was bombing super hard… the crowd barely cheered for him as he introduced himself but lost their minds for Che… there were almost literal cricket sounds after some of Colin’s punchlines but they went nuts for Che… you could almost see Jost squirm a little.
Apparently Che had gone out a few minutes prior to air and got (most of) the crowd to hold their applause just to mess with Colin, and it was glorious
Watching this set, I couldn’t help but wonder where Michael Che was because this was not a particularly giving crowd… this wasn’t really Neil’s best set, but even the first half featured a pretty flat crowd
