- Many songs from the Tamil Films have been ignored periodically for reasons best known to no one. Especially, never or rarely attempted in any reality shows, stage shows or competitions. When the nation is on a Quarantine, Subhasree Thanikachalam launches this new series.This series will feature a set of some classic songs that are rarely heard, rarely performed, mainly between the period 1945 - 1992, and she will also try and give some trivia for the songs.The songs will all be performed by young singers who came out of her shows, which mainly focused on old songs. Re programmed and arranged by musicians.

Great scriptures like Vishnu Sahasranama gets to the people through Bhashyam by great Saintly souls like Aadhi Sankara , Ramanuja & Madvacharya.
I thought, in similar lines, the great work of stalwarts like Sri. MSV, Sri. G.Ramanathan , Sri. KVM, Sri. SVV, Sri. S.M.S, Sri. TMS, Smt. PS, Kaviyarasar is beautifully explained and analysed by Smt. Subhashree. Her style is so natural and lucid that it brings an unkown graphic to the mind and prepares the audience for the spectacle that is to follow. Wonderful job... madam...👍
Santhosh has a special place not only in my heart but in the hearts of many Rasikaa that I can see from the comments. He just simply tries to live the song and hence all his renditions are so emoting and Bhaavaa-filled.
I always eagerly look for his name in any of the new release. As everyone knows, it is not at all easy to replicate TMS and So it is with Santhosh. Not easy to sing like him. Quite an un-assuming talent ever latent in him. He captures the heart no doubt as usual in this song too.
As Ms. Subhashree explained, the strings reproduction is extra ordinary. Usually faceless, I am happy to see them performing. Marvelous you have been- the strings group and the whole team.

When the word " go" was pronounced Santosh started with big bang that reverberates even after the song was over, for a very long time. Similarly the end strings, "Ho" ....what brilliance. The great composer MSV lives today in these instances.

Revisited this song today. While santosh singing is v good, i want to thank Siva for editing, bringing every nuance of the strings visually, most important factor of the orchesteation as if we are witnessing the recording itself.

Dear Madam, I don't even know, how to thank you for this incredible treat; it wouldn't have been easy I suppose, the dramatic effect of the strings, to compliment the house musicians skills; to perfectly sync a way for our ears, is already an elaborate feast, ofcourse the singer sang, played out the lines so boldly, with an explosive emotion plus a strong voice to bear it; the video artist's black and white hue manipulation is very creative too. What a verse, each and every line, its meaning is worth cherishing for a heart's keepsake, memories. And so was all, 'so flawless and soaring.' Thank you so much Mam- you really made my day.

Felt like TMS himself singing this song that expresses yearning and melancholy. Expected a happy song with the 250th episode coming tomorrow.
Was waiting for Santosh to sing a song for a couple of weeks now. Apart from his amazing singing talent, his Tamil pronunciation is impeccable and excellent singing as ususal.The strings were outstanding. Kudos to all the musicians who recreated the song. It was a treat to the ears
Firstly, our belated birthday wishes to our Makkal Thilagam, the one and only MGR, a man who's been part of day to day lives of our family all these years. when it comes to MGR songs, I would say it was a total team effort though we would like it MGR songs. A team effort that consisted of TMS, MSV/TKR, KVM, Kannadasan, Vaali and others. They used to say that MGR had a total involvement in every aspect of the movie making including music (like Director Sridhar). Though singers like AM Rajah, CS Jeyaraman were providing voice to MGR before Malaikallan, my sincere belief is that the game changer was my beloved, the one and only TMS, who sang the first song for MGR, etthanai kaalam thaan ematruvar intha naatile, the start of the golden period of MGR songs, which even SPB, Yesudoss could not replicate in the later years. TMS, not only sang for both MGR and Sivaji, but also had the vision for how to sing and emote for these two great actors, As I tell some of the current singers, the only way you can learn and improve on bhavam is to continue to listen to TMS songs. In this particular song, Sarojadevi would run out of the tent, where MGR would have just finished fighting with Sitting Bull, with a total surprise and upset seeing MGR there at the tent. Then the song situation would start. You can feel in TMS' voice when he sings அழுதமுகம்

உயிர் கொடுப்பேன், how to emote for each word in this line, something only TMS could do. I have heard that even Nadigar Thilagam used to complain how hard was it to act for TMS's expressions. My sincere belief is that the team in this song, starting from Santhosh, Shyam and others, has done a total justice to the song and made me so happy. Also, thanks to Subhashri for conceptualizing this rendition. Santhosh is the TMS voice of QFR and some of us have commented on this in the past in this forum. Awesome Santhosh. Hats off to the entire team from this MGR rasigan (veriyan) for this rendition :-)

Santhosh singing was a flawless presentation of the original. The strings section was out of ordinary. Shyam playing, mixing and programming with playings of mandolin, guitar and especially the small bits of accordion which added to the genius of MSV sir composition as in the original. Being used to hearing shorter version in the record, hearing the song in the full with the string section at the end was a pleasure and full satisfaction to music lovers. Shiva added to the beauty of the visuals and Venkat was usual at his best. Thank you my child for this priceless gem and QFR team and God bless you and QFR team for more laurels to follow. 👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏

People are talking about harmony. Look how MSV composed the Pallavi of this song. The Pallavi is very unique. Just 2 words. Anbe vaa. That is it.
How MSV tuned these 2 words as an arpeggio (singing broken chords notes).
1st line ‘anbe vaa’ - in G major chord. Broken chord notes
sa - ga2 - pa
2nd line again ‘Anbe vaa’ - in G# major chord. Broken chord notes
Ri1- ma1-dha1
3rd line ‘Vaa’ - B flat major chord.
Broken chord notes ni1-ri2-ma1 since only one word is there he uses only one note that is ni1.
4th line again ‘vaa..’ - in G minor
Broken chord notes - sa-ga1-pa.
Again since only one word is used MSV used the note upper sa note for that word.
So if you link all these notes it goes like
