    I think digital night vision is the future. Yes, traditional night glasses, such PVS-14 now allow you to see further, but over time this difference will disappear, but there will be an advantage in price.

    • @nightfoxnightvision
      @nightfoxnightvision  Před 9 měsíci +6

      The Nightfox team think you're right Maxim! We continue to work on improvements to digital night vision and hope that, in the not too distant future, digital night vision will be on par with, and one day out perform analogue devices. You never have to worry permanently damaging digital night vision with light exposure, unlike the pricey analogue devices! All Nightfox digital night vision devices can be used in bright daylight as binoculars. Thank you for taking the time to leave your comment, we really appreciate it!

      @@nightfoxnightvisionhey nightfox team I love your products, I left a comment on the video but just for extra exposure I think a panoramic night vision device would be very helpful for the budget community, maybe like 4 to 5 IR sensors to give a super wide view

    This is great and im going to buy one but something that would be super helpful to the budgets community would be a panoramic version with 4 to 5 different sensors spread across the unti, if anyone else agrees please try and get this comment up there so that nightfox will see it. Im sure we would all love a product like that

      Thank you for your great suggestion. We really do want a good budget panoramic design too, but at this time it is proving elusive. We do have the Prowl (head mounted monocular) that we are working on to be mounted as a dual tube in the future, which provides a really good depth of field. Thank you for your suggestion!

    I just received my yesterday and for $229US i am blown away by the value for the dollar spent. The various IR settings on the unit allowing you to see without seeing the red dot is fabulous. Yes I know if someone has a similar or better unit you are sitting duck but most of us cannot afford the PVS-14 so my comment is relative to a better than nothing statement. The rubber cup holds out any backlighting on the face and the standard head mount is very decent should you decide not to use a helmet. The clarity is decent very but not perfect. You can run with these on a known flat surface ie field or driveway but unlikely able to run and navigate in the woods. I would imagine if the frame rate was slightly better 60fps maybe but I am no expert here. Again for the value I would highly recommend these as a true entry level unit whereby you are not disappointed.

      We're so glad to hear you are enjoying using your new Nightfox! We always strive to create the best value night vision devices without the eye-watering PVS-14 price tag and we're so pleased to hear you are benefiting from many of the features we chose specifically for those reasons, such as the rubber eye cup and extra supporting head mount. We will keep working on the rest, ie the screen refresh rate! Thank you for your feedback and have fun out there!

    It would be good if you included/made a video showing how visible the headset is when on the highest setting.
    The ideal thing about NVG’s is being undetectable, so if you are easily visible to other people it defeats the purpose.
    If you could make a video, that would be great

      Great suggestion Lewis! I will pass it along to the team. The Swift 2 has dual IR so it is able to be used for greater stealth with switching to 940nm IR, and it sensitive to ambient light at night. We will work harder on being able to better illustrate and demonstrate this in future videos. Thank you for your suggestion!

    • @nightfoxnightvision
      @nightfoxnightvision  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Yes, the Swift 2 and Swift 2 Pro are sensitive to ambient light at night and so can be used with the IR off, or with a low level of IR which will extend the battery life as well as increase your stealth at night. I hope this helps answer your question.

    You have convinced me. I'm buying one. There is NO WAY I can afford a PVS-14, even a used one in so-so condition. I do, however, have one question...if I choose to mount one on a helmet (which apparently is no problem), will I need a counter-weight at the back of the helmet to balance everything out?

    • @nightfoxnightvision
      @nightfoxnightvision  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Great question! It depends on your own comfort when you are wearing your helmet with the device. As the Swift 2 and Swift 2 Pro can be used whilst charging via micro USB, you may wish to use a mobile charging USB power bank as a counter weight. Meaning you can boost the battery life and have a handy counter weight. I hope this information is helpful and please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Only 360p - 480p display... Extremely poor. Especially for the 1080p sensor.
    This could've been the best digital NVG on the whole market. But unfortunately you guys destroyed it again :(
    It should have at least a 720p display. And working/functional 50 fps or 60 fps.
    Without doing a factory reset.
    But for interested people, this is still the best digital unit out there. If you only can buy bduget digital NVGs, this is the way to go

    • @nightfoxnightvision
      @nightfoxnightvision  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Thanks for your feedback, Aesthetic! It's always a challenge sourcing and integrating these small screens, but the specs will improve as we work on future iterations. It is always a fine balancing act combining
      high spec screens and other essential components for budget nvgs. We do have other devices that have higher spec screens, the Corsac and Whisker, but not currently for head mounted nvgs. Rest assured it will be something the team works on for future devices.

    Is the Swift 2 pro better than the Prowl??

    • @nightfoxnightvision
      @nightfoxnightvision  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Great question! Well, it really comes down to what you need, I'd say the main advantages of the Prowl are the adjustable dioptre, if you struggle to focus close up on the viewing screen then the Prowl is the best option for you. As it can be adjusted to personal focal length and the Swift 2 can not. The Prowl is also more compact and light weight because of it's monocular design, and it allows you to have one eye on your surroundings if you're in moving through variable light conditions, no need to flip it up out of the way etc. The Prowl can also be dual mounted which does provide a further depth of field than the Swift 2 PROs singular viewing screen. I hope this information is helpful and please let me know if you have any further questions.

    Whats the difference between the swift and swift 2?

    • @nightfoxnightvision
      @nightfoxnightvision  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Great question! The main differences is that the Swift 2 is an upgraded version of the Swift. The Swift 2 has a higher resolution screen than the Swift, and an increased viewing angle of 53.8 degrees to the swifts 40 degree. The Swift 2 has a much larger viewing range at night of 130meters to the Swifts 70meters. The Swift 2 has increased adjustable zoom x3 instead of only x2. The Swift 2 has dual IR, using both 850nm for long range and 940nm for stealthy low glow. The Swift 2 also has a much longer battery life of 5 hours compared to the 3 hours with the Swift. The Swift 2 also has a new eye surround that is comfier on the face and helps block more light spill. So overall with the Swift 2 you can see further for longer with a clearer view on the screen. I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any further questions.

      The Swift, like all our devices can be used with 850nm and 940nm IR wavelength. So the Swift will work with a 940nm IR, but the 940nm wavelength doesn't provide a big boost to viewing range at night it is for stealth. This is why the Swift 2 and Swift 2 Pro have both inbuilt to have the best of both worlds.@@noahchapman1856

    • @nightfoxnightvision
      @nightfoxnightvision  Před 9 měsíci

      Unfortunately loss of peripheral vision can happen with binoculars, although the Swift 2 has a wide field of view of 53 degrees so you will be able to take in a lot of your surroundings. The vertical view, you will need to tip your head down to see more around your feet. If you are interested in a head mounted monocular, we will be bringing out the Nightfox Prowl next month, which hopefully will provide you with the best of both worlds.
