After watching your review I decided to give these a try. I was going to add a few of my own comments, but after typing a ridiculously long amazon review I decided to just cut&paste it here as it probably has some reasonable info for your viewers.
I received these and briefly tried them out during the day where they seemed to focus OK. I waited until dark and found they couldn't focus and only had a little more than a half a turn from stop to stop on the focus wheel. I was about to package them for return, but first examined it and could clearly see that there was room for more travel on the focus wheel. I just put some firm force on the wheel and it broke free to continue turning for 2.5 full turns. It appears that for daytime viewing with the cap in place (with the small aperture), the focus range is smaller and there is an indent on the focus wheel. Night viewing requires focus past this indent. It seems that my indent was quite stiff at first and took more effort than expected at first. After repeated travel through this indent point it now moves smoothly while still providing a stop point. This could be avoided by quality checks, where this travel is ensured to be free and also a better explanation in the manual under the focus wheel description.
So after that was taken care of, I'm actually really impressed. These work pretty good.
One concern that I had that nobody seemed to ask or report on was the visibility of the IR light. The IR light that it emits is invisible when you are looking out into the illuminated view, however when you look directly into the light it is a soft red glow but it's not really relevant at all. There are 7 levels of IR illumination power. At level 1 you have to be holding it in your hand to see it. At level 7 it is still just a soft, not obvious, red glow that is not easily seen beyond 10 yards. I walked out about 70 yards then walked back (in the dark) only having an idea of where the light was and looking hard for it and didn't find it until at 20 yards. I backed up until i couldn't see it any longer at about 30 yards. This was out on my archery range so those distances are accurate.
The IR power at level 1 is good for seeing objects clearly out to 30-40 yards. Using a higher power will overexpose and objects become washed out. Level 7 seemed too much even out at 70 yards. I'll have to go out to another field to test it out to 200 yards.
So if you use the correct IR illumination level I would say that there is no way the red glow will be an issue at all. For animals that are close in, use a low power setting and they won't see it and long range animals won't see the high power IR setting either.
The viewfinder has a rubber shield that forms to your face. If you wear glasses, this rubber shield sorta sucks, but it is removable, however with it removed the screen backlight (even on low) will reflect on your face which can be seen (it really spooked my horses). As I generally wear contacts this won't be problem for me, but it might for others.
I just went out and got some good pictures of my horses at about 50 yards at IR level 1 and am very impressed, however when trying to upload these pics to my computer, it won't recognize the drive. This may be my PC fault though as this is an old one in my workshop. I'll troubleshoot this later as I've already spent way to much time on this review.
So yeah, once I got the focus issue figured out, I'm pretty happy with these.

Not a bad price for what you demonstrated. I'm not very familiar with night vision, but for basic perimeter surveillance or maybe on a bigfoot search, maybe just the ticket. Thanks Tim for a fun review.

I was looking at similar ones a while ago but the trouble with camera based ones is quality. These look pretty decent. I'm still saving my pennies for some real white phosphorus night vision though lol
I have exactly the same device and agree with you. It's good for the price and for what I need it I wouldn't be willing to pay more. Tactical military night vision binoculars that can be folded on the helmet are in a completely different league anyway. Thanks for your Video!
Ive got aa nightfox cape i really couldnt afford mutch more than them but there pretty good they give you the advantage of seing in the dark pretty well for super cheap, it really comes down to me rather having them than not, sure if ur using them for airsoft or something people will see the IR but besides that great advantage multplier. here in aus its pretty far and few between who has night vission digital or not.
Amazon currently has a $30 coupon (April 6, 2022) bringing the price down to $120. The only limitation I see is the distance the IR light can travel. I'm setting up 2 Univivi IR Illuminator floodlights (Amazon also) in my backyard so I can see my dogs at night. The IR can't be seen by the naked eye but the camera will be able to use it up to 150 feet maybe more.
Thinking about a set like this to look out my rv windows from inside. I assume the IR lights bounce off glass straight back at you like flashlights?

Hey there, great question! IR is pretty power hungry, so anything that reduces the use of the inbuilt IR in the device will help prolong battery life. The Corsac has a great feature when outside with ambient light it can be used without triggering the IR which should prolong the battery life, you can also try using an additional IR illuminator to boost range and also spare the battery. I hope this helps!
