Awesome record, I don’t know this was a thing until I bumped into Pete while I was on a mtb ride near Harpenden. I stopped to ask what he was doing and he kindly told me all about the sport. Such a lovely chap. Such insane speeds.

I wrecked at about 40mph once, surgery on my wrist and thumb, broken collar bone and separated shoulder along with a nasty concussion. 90+ is insane.
I wrecked at 50 thankfully I only tore off most of skin on my palm and skinned up my shoulder and elbow pretty good

How do you skip the wobbles at that speed?
Precision truck that can cost over 600$ some hard bushing and longboard (around 35" or more) so wobbles are easier to control
the speed gets lower so there are more managable when you are used to higher speeds
all tho staying low and having tighter trucks always helps and/or carving along the way down so that you press on the bushings and the board doesn't wobble
Also a split can help. This means the rear truck has a lower degree angle than the front, resulting in a more stable turn like a car.

@@dalibortkac4553 yea as long as u have a good set of spit degree trucks and bushings theres no point of precision trucks, I RIP 50 50 slides and topped my set out at 105 kph and dont feel bad about it!

I've done 63mph on a regular board crashed avoiding rearending a car and broke 3 ribs and my wrist in the process in 98.
Also got impaled through my top of my shoulder by a 1/8" piece of steel fence at the same time... Not fun at all
I only know how fast I was going because a rookie cop just happened to be in the other lane and caught the whole thing .
Luckily he had some bolt cutters to clip the damn fence wire and called for an ambulance.
You've gotta have your balls strapped in pretty tight doing 90 on anything.
Miracle I'm still alive if I'd have had hit my brachical artery I would have bled out before an ambulance got there or so the ER folks told me

As a downhill skater and street skater. You definitely didn’t go 63mph on a regular board. The truck geometry doesn’t allow for those speeds and street wheel diameter is too small and core support in the wheels is too little for them to go that fast

@@B--en4db No. The whole point of forged trucks is to offer a product with a level of precision and strenght similar to a cnc machined truck, for a much lower price. These are Sabre Precision Race and go for a little over 100$ a piece, same as other popular forged trucks as Kodiaks and Savants. But i'll happily sell you one of each for 300 a piece, since you seem to know the business inside out

I understand you have gear to help with the wobbles but DUUUUUDE I get even so much as 15mph on my board and get froggy 😭😂 how tf do you do this kinda speed???
Wobbles only come from the back truck so if your still and have all your weight on your front foot in a tuck position like Pete was doing in the video your stable

I feel like the right road on the right hill probably exists somewhere to go that fast. At that point though, you're really not skating so much as you're falling down the side of a mountain

longboards are a type of skateboard
Modern race boards are the same length as a street deck. Also no street skater could ever go close to this fast. My current setup is 32” long about the same length as the average street board
He said it's "easier" like he did that a couple of times.. hahahaha
