namari is kinda great 🥲
Namari, like Chilchuck, is first and foremost a professional dungeon delver with very keen knowledge on different weapons and metals. Very cool character! Very wholesome to see Marcille take helm in cooking after being so apprehensive towards eating monsters all this time!
DunMeshi is becoming my most favourite anime after each episode. It just gets better and better every week.

I really appreciate how Namari is given an obsessive interest that parallels Laios, with the only major difference being her's is more practical, and therefore considered more societally acceptable. I really wish we got to see her interacting with the party more, because she brings a fun dynamic!
I think there’s a huge difference between obsession/interest and a hyperfixation. Neurotypicals can be obsessed with an interest, but that doesn’t mean it takes over their entire life. For neurodivergent people, it almost can. Kamari doesn’t get the “crazy eyes” when she speaks about her interest,
You’re on point with the societally accepted interest tho. Hers is “practical” , and I think to an extent ppl do treat ASD ppl differently based on their special interest.
It isn't mentioned in the show, but Kaka and Kiki are the gnomes' adopted children.
They were abandoned by their biological parents as children, and their full names are Kakakaka and Kikikiki which is the Japanese equivalent of naming your kids AAAA and BBBB.
Did the parents who abandoned their kids name their kids that or did the gnomes do it? Cuz if it’s by the parents then it’s depressed, but if it’s by the gnomes it’s funny cuz they probably did it without knowing what human names are haha

my favorite detail in this episode is Namari's first view of the stew. It looks dull and unappetizing at first, but as soon as she tastes it her perception changes and the next time she looks at it the colors are brighter and more saturated. there are things that I feel the manga did better? but overall im LOVING the adaptation and the attention to details like that in the animation
I feel like the anime has used its color and animation to really make the story more cozy and dynamic in ways the manga can’t.
It’s like FMA, the source is amazing but the adaptation does a lot of unique things (including that one thing in the dragon fight)
@@BelBelle468yeah I totally agree. There's details I wish were kept in the manga, but I'm in no way upset by anything in the anime. (Except for the change in intros cuz the first one was perfection to me lol)
But yeah the use of color in the anime for both food and environments is everything I ever wanted out of an anime adaptation of Dungeon Meshi and more 😍
Without getting too much into spoilers all I'll say is that elves are kind of like the white people of the Dungeon Meshi world, so that's why Namari, Mr Tansu, and Senshi are like "typical elf 😒"
It’s not a total parallel for obvious reasons. The race politics aren’t the same as the ones we got, but we can kinda see from history that elves were the “top of the world” in a way.
Also, if it was intentional it makes the whole Indian/Nepalese coded Kabru’s storyline even more interesting lol

Gnomes and dwarves are raised to be racist towards elves, hence why Namari, Senshi, and Mr. Tansu all nod in agreement when they start badmouthing them.
It also speaks to how rare elves joining dungeon parties are

Tansu's remark about the glyphs is not meant to be racist. It's just a comment about bad handwriting. In general, these subtitles are confusing sometimes
I believe the subtitles also have her chastising Laios for using "that same old sword" when she was actually noting the new sword and telling him to get one from a reputable source for once.

You will grow to love Namari further, her backstory isn't entirely spoken on in the manga proper, so I can provide a little bit here for your edification, and because I comment on youtube, I also have a pathological need for attention~
She kind of has a harder stake in reputations and looking at bigger pictures for personal reasons, as her father was a noted weaponsmith back in her homeland. The problem is one nite, he just up and vanished after essentially robbing his customers and splitting town. Dwarves in most western mythos are known for being notoriously honest and strident people, oathkeepers. Any favor done to them will be honored reliably and without question, but a disservice done to a dwarf is a damning thing, especially among their own kind. Because she was _totally_ unaware of any of her father's plans to do a runner like that, she was pretty much the only one left standing tall in front of the other Dwarves who demanded someone answer for the crime, and it'd fall to her since she's his flesh and blood. Now she's pretty much an outcast to other dwarves, since news travels very fast about such things, and she's more or less had to give up on her dream to follow in her beloved dad's example and stay alive by taking up with work at the dungeon. So, needless to say, she plays things as honestly and risk-free as possible because it's the only job she's got, and its an unfair reputation that precedes her in most places where Dwarves work. You'll see more of her later, don't worry~
She's also got her father's eye for metals and blacksmithing, so she takes specific interest in equipment and weaponry. Its another experienced character showing reasons for why they are, just that her reasons are less fun... although neither are Chuck's, because his attention to details and professionalism came from being killed by mimics and traps so many times, often in exchange of each other ✨

Not for leaving the party, I mean very few people could enter in that dungeon to fight a dragon, but she couldn't care less about falin or the other ex members' feelings
She doesn't have any kind of touch when talking to marcille who is so worried about falin
to her its all buisness, and you really cant blame her for that, some people just enter the duneon to make some cash, the fact that she assisted them at all in itself is a big deal
