  • Recently some 3,000 soldiers from eight #NATO countries trained together in North Macedonia. They were under the command of 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team on Exercise #SwiftResponse.
    The 2,000-strong British contingent was made up of the 2 PARA Battlegroup including; artillery, engineers, logisticians, medics, and signallers from 16 Air Assault BCT, and Aviation Task Force 1 with Apache attack helicopters and Chinook support helicopters from the Royal Air Force.
    Exercising alongside multiple Army and RAF units, has truly demonstrated the lethality, agility and expeditionary capabilities of the #GlobalResponseForce.

      I think you are spot on with what motivates the youngsters to join up. With regards to the woke campaign, all of our military branches and especially the top brass need to drop it straight away, before it starts damaging the core ethos, traditions, culture and war fighting ability that all of the British military branches have historically held dear to.

Racial diversity is something we have to accept, although I wouldn’t invite any more of that than we already have. I am yet to see proof that race mixing produces stronger genetic lines, but it might well water down what makes us white (and east Asian) people strong. No disrespect to our black and brown brethren, but why should our genes not be preserved? Since we have conquered the world intellectually and martially repeatedly, as a kind, they absolutely should be.

I think we're too used to fighting very poor opponents with no modern weapons which make helicopters viable - in the Ukraine even with Russian Hinds which are heavily armoured or the KA52 helicopters didn't last long at all ...airborne light forces have all but been abandoned in the Ukraine for slower heavier ground forces...

    The British Army has now dwindled itself down unable to sustain combat on a large scale. They are highly trained but their inability to control the Helmand and Basra has shown how unreliable they are. Their constant downsizing has hurt their overall capability.

    • @danamies8139
      @danamies8139 Před 2 lety +4

      Incorrect. The modern charactar of conflict, the joint strength of NATO and modern battlefield technology, does not require the West to hold massed armed forces of previous wars. You link 'conflict' and Basra/Helmand, however these should be separated. Basra/ Helmand should be considered under a separate heading, counterinsurgency, which is a wicked problem, defined as a problem you cannot solve (with firepower) you can only manage. It is a problem of no fixed answer (like a bayonet to conflict) and is the source of much debate. The high level of live fire, joint (both in the multinational and capability sense) training conducted by NATO will ensure any opponent (in a conventional conflict you mention) is defeated swiftly. If NATO rolled into Ukraine, NATO would defeat the Russian forces land, sea and air within a matter of weeks if not days.

      @@danamies8139 and yet the British proclaimed that they were experts in counterinsurgency. What transpired in Basra and Helmand was the opposite of that. There's no reason to sugarcoat it either, even retired British LtCol Frank Ledwidge wrote a book on it called Losing Small Wars: Brirish Failures in Iraq and Afghanistan. Don't get me wrong, we all failed. However it was your "experts" that led to those quagmires, forcing General McChrystal to literally rewrite the playbook and adopt new strategies that even your forces and leaders would adopt.

      @@DirtyMikeandTheBoys69 I agree with you, and you sort of support my point that the initial comment was wrong in that the capability is not 'hurt' because what you correctly speak of is doctrine and concepts which yes were flawed in counter insurgency but to say the capability is 'hurt' isn't right, if anything, it is more lethal than ever and counter insurgency remains a wicked problem no matter the size of your army. Easier to 'manage' the wicked problem yes, but not win like in peer on peer 'conflict'.

      Brit army is more of a 'defence force' and will continue to be scaled down like all parts of the armed services. I would have though the 'ruling classes' concept is a trans-european army so armies of individual nations within Europe are not required in their minds and will continue to be scaled down. Its worth noting that Britain also has many nonwhite people living there as well as non-indigenous whites such as Maygars and Slavic genomic peoples, so Britain itself is a genetic melting pot and is no longer an ethically homogenous country, its just a dishomogenous disunited nation which seemingly is on its last legs, with Europe and the 'five eyes nations' not too far behind.

      @sethrauldatta7456 Před 2 lety +1

      @@danamies8139 the tier 1 and probably tier 2 elements will be supported, but the traditional army (tier 3) and navy etc will continue to be scaled down and see budget cutbacks, to the ruling classes they're more like glorified jobs programs and are used as such since the real army is the NATO combined forces army, so individual armies such as UK army are no longer necessary.
