Before Adam and Eve leave the garden of Eden he creates garments for them to wear. In one final act of love for his disobedient children he gives them the protection they will need to survive in a much harsher environment than they're used to and by example teaches them how to craft more garments for themselves.
It speaks volumes about the nature of God himself and the trials he sets before us. Despite overwhelming odds he is always ready to provide what is needed to persevere - even when we don't deserve it.

The clothes God makes for adam and eve came from a lamb which God got adam to slay. The lamb is suppose to represent Jesus sarfices himself for mankind. God pick up adam hand and drop it on the lamb. God said the lamb represent himself and the sacrifice he made for mankind and adam close his eyes when god drop his hand on the lamb and eve was crying. God got adam to use a knife. Adam and eve did not want to hurt the lamb but God told them they had to for the sake of mankind because mankind had become sinful after adam and eve ate the apple.

When I was a kid, I would often read a Children's Bible that was in the waiting room of a doctor's office. In that particular Bible, it was explained that Eve was not startled by the talking snake because she was actually delighted to have someone new to talk to other than Adam or God. Not to say any version/theory is right or wrong, I just thought this idea was worth a mention.

Exactly. From 6:44 in the video he asks "so why did God not want them to eat this forbidden fruit?" meaning the fruit of the *knowledge* of good and evil, and then he says there's nothing to indicate it shouldn't be eaten in the future - at 6:59 he quotes revelation 22:7 "to the one who is victorious I will give the right to eat from the tree of *life*" this is a different tree/fruit!
Some interesting points in this video but this misunderstanding of such a basic point makes me suspicious of his well researched it is.
They were permitted to eat from the tree of life which sustains life as long as they keep eating it (I.e. immortality). Once they get banished from the garden of Eden (because they ate the forbidden knowledge fruit) they are condemned to be mortal and eventually die (because no longer can eat from the tree of life) and the rest of humanity is condemned along with them. Jesus then offers a way to eternal life by believing in him, as he was the perfect sacrifice done once, and for all. This is what revelation refers to, being able to eat once more from the tree of Life, i.e. immortality.

There are a few issues with the story:
    1. If God is omniscient, he foresaw the fall, so why make the garden at all and put the trees and serpent there?
    2. The Jews do not see the serpent as Satan. To the Jews, Satan is an angel of God without being evil. Nor does it make sense to punish all snakes because Satan disguised himself as one. In addition, the text says that the snake is cunning.
Satan does not crawl on his belly in other passages either.
    3. God lies when he says people will die if they eat the fruit. The snake tells the truth. And humans couldn't have been immortal before, otherwise the passage doesn't make sense about God being afraid, humans eat the other fruit and become immortal.

Revelation 22:7, KJV: Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
I believe the verse you're talking about is Revelation 2:7
Also, Genesis 2:9, KJV: And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the TREE OF LIFE also in the midst of the garden, and the TREE OF KNOWLEGDE OF GOOD AND EVIL.
2 separate trees that God is referring to.
Genesis 2:16-17 KJV: And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
From the creation of man, they were never supposed to die, thus God not allowing them to eat from the TREE OF LIFE. Thus when they ate from the tree that was the day that started their death.
Rev 2:7 is referring to the same TREE OF LIFE when the "victorious", is in the paradise(heaven) of God. Since they are in the paradise of God therefore there is no longer any death. Just like in the Garden of Eden.

The problem with changing Religion just so to calm down the sceptics is that the sceptics and the disbelievers take it as further signs that Religion is man made and not divine while those who actually believe tend to start having doubts and become disillusioned because all the things they held dear as being the ultimate divine truth got changed or even discarded ..Because the people who have done the most disservice to Religion are the ones who made it their mission to spread Religion. It because a game of numbers rather than path to salvation and eternal prosperous bliss. They started tweaking religion just so that more people would accept the faith and in the process totally destroyed the faith.
Religion was meant for individual’s salvation not because God needed more followers but because Man needs God. Unfortunately humans sacrificed the divine just to gain personal followers and supporters or in other words Fame, Influence and Power..

It's all about picking and choosing what's literal, what isn't, and how you want to interpret what's in the Bible. That's the beauty of this old book. It means whatever you want it to mean. If science proves something false, then it's not supposed to be taken literal. It's only literal until science proves it wrong.

The first advice I can give anyone is if you have not read the Bible for yourself you should really consider reading it. You will find that the Bible says that With God all things are possible. When you read the word of God it is up to each individual if they choose to believe it or not. But you will also come across a passage that will tell you that most people are not entering into the kingdom of God when they die. Because without faith it is impossible to please God. "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."( 2 corinthians 4:18)

There were two schools of thought. The Alexandrian school, Origin, was heavily influenced by Gnostic Greek Philosophy. They used an allegorical approach to theology, note Origin’s interpretation of the Good Samaritan. They believed the basic interpretation was overly simplistic and Scripture had a higher allegorical interpretation. We see this allegorical interpretation a lot in the Catholic Church. By the way, Origin would have been considered heretical by almost any Christian today.
The Antioch school was much more literal in their interpretation. These were made up of the Jewish Christians that fled the fall of Judea. Their interpretation became much more popular during the Reformation with Luther and Calvin.
By the way, B. B. Warfield changed his evolution views as he aged. Genesis one is about the creation of the world. Genesis two is about the creation of the Garden of Eden on day six. God did not “teach” Adam how to make clothes. God made the first sacrifice that points to the sacrifice of Christ.

Look, I dropped my faith in Christianity some years ago. I follow more paganistic traditions and adopted a polytheistic perspective using an omnist system that incorporates the Egyptian, Greek/Roman and Norse pantheons, But Satan is NOT the evil or bad fellow The Church has made him out to be. Lucifer is the one to not get too engaged with. Satan (known better in some circles as Baphomet, see the Church of the Satanic Temple as a prolific example) is actually a fairly laid back individual and has a long fuse when it comes to anger issues. He's one of those that would take joy in a conversation by a campfire over a couple of beers. (He appreciates the message the Satanic Temple is trying to convey but would have preferred to not have his name and face connected to it - and yes that's his aaaactual face)
Lucifer, and a known 'relative' of his that I have a name for (Not the 'actual' name, just an answered-to name), that should be avoided at all costs. A thing about names: If you have their true name, you have power over them. The names we know them by here are 'chosen' names, for the sake of credit and identity. But without putting themselves into a compromising position. I have the actual name to one so-called 'demon' (That's another topic all together) as provided to me by his mother in times of emergency, very friendly to me and most, but like the rest of us, has a line you just don't cross -- I'm one of those lines -- and you think he's scary, his mother frightens me more than the child does - but I'm close with this family, so unless I blatantly go against them as treason, I'm in pretty good hands.
(also I did ask, yes the fiddle battle in Georgia happened, yes he lost, that was planned the entire time because he can't play the fiddle anyway, he just wanted to have some fun with a local and give him a story to tell -- he did eventually get the fiddle back by way of a loophole once the victor passed away - He plans to do it again in the future and kind of make a tradition of it with a different instrument elsewhere in the world)

Thanks for making this video, TIS! I think this is a great and fair interpretation of the book of genesis, but I think it's also important to note that this is but one theory on Adam and Eve. I think that whether you believe in Adam and Eve as the first humans ever without evolution, a pair of humans chosen from humans, or fully mythical, you can still feel comfortable knowing you are being faithful to scripture.
As you noted, genesis was written to an early culture and as many things in the Old Testament are, may not be fully literal. Especially when it comes to numbers and literal days. Thank you for being nuance to the conversation.
Anyone watching this, I would encourage you not to see the Bible and science as opposed as much as retain interpretations being opposed. God's word is true, and if you seek him out, he will be faithful to you.

As a literalist Christian I appreciate how well you presented this video from the Christian perspective, despite being a secular channel. I think it's noble and important when we tell stories or facts, especially when we don't necessarily advocate them, to be fair and objective and keep our personal opinions out of it. Of course people are welcome to have and share their opinions, but that's more well-suited for a discussion not a presentation. So kudos. Lol.
My view on evolution is this, Adam and Eve were made as adults, but if you you looked at their DNA, it would appear that they were born as babies and grew to be adults; so it's possible that while creation happened in a short time that the evidence would show a long time, if that simply was the elongated version that was sped up.
Now my unpopular second opinion is that I don't really consider macro-level evolution evident enough to find it necessary to believe it, but I accept those who do believe it, and there's no reason that it contradicts the Bible anyhow. Broader evolutionary theory is a constantly changing science that requires some leaps and assumptions. One could argue that evolution requires faith as well. Science and facts change all the time after all (albeit there are self-evident absolute truths also). But I admit it is true that some parts of the Bible are more metaphorical than others, also. So I could be wrong but fortunately I don't think it really matters that much who's right or wrong about this topic. Hehe.

A theory explains a process based on evidence at hand. Theories can be modified, updated, or rejected based on new evidence. Fossil & DNA evidence prove evolution to be a fact & the evolution theory explains how it works.

Whatever faith tradition you prescribe to, or are lacking, I find it incredibly interesting to those who say that The Genesis account is not history. Only very liberal Rabbis and some liberal Pastors/Priests say that it is allegorical.
However, the main point I would like to make is that the Judeo/Christian/Islamic faith traditions trace their ancestry directly back to Abraham. Abraham is specifically listed in a genealogy dating back to Adam.
Scriptural history aside, I find it amazing that Genesis said that we have one male ancestor, and one female ancestor.
Fast forward a quite a few thousand years with modern technology and science, and well isn't that interesting!?!?
Modern science has proven through mitochondrial DNA that we have a genetic Eve, and through chromosomal DNA has proven a common male ancestor as well.
So how would a stone age tribe even know or begin to have this concept? Because they always knew. It was an oral tradition started with those first humans. Now proven by science. Incredible!
