Thanks for another helpful video. Just bought my first Mazda (a cx-3) last week so look forward to applying some of your maintenance tips and advice when the time comes.
Thank you so much for the video. I have been hesitant to do this. I bought everything I need. Thanks to this video I'm not intimidated to do this project. My biggest dilemma was the drain plug.
Thank you so much😁🔧🔩
Thank you so much. All these videos about the Mazda3 are an absolute Life-Saver! Please keep it up, you're The Best!!!
You are so awesome, i had to change my sister inlaws stabilizer link on her mazda 3. I had a general idea of how to do it, but your video helped out a lot. You have some of the best videos on youtube. Good quality and good information.
I have the same Mazda 3 and believe me... It need so much work and fortunately, through your videos I'm getting it done little by lil
Thank you so much
Great job! I needed a perfect video on how to do this. Trick on those clamps is to slide them down the rubber hose and don’t take them off. Just grab the two sides of the clamp with pliers and slide down the pipe. Also, I would suggest (if no one else has already without me reading all the comments) to cover the alternator with a plastic bag so the fluid doesn’t drain right into it. You did an amazing job! Thank you.
Love your viddys! The magic of editing makes it look so simple.... Great stuff though!!!!! 👍😀
Most beautiful mechanic I have ever seen. Thanks for video.
Hi,
I am your big fan.
Best DIY videos made by you.
You are very smart and skilled. thumbs up....
Get yourself the tool that is made just for those types of clamps, it's a great tool, and prevents SOME cursing. At any rate, your right, those clamps are a real pain to deal with at times. Ecspecially when they are facing a direction that doesn't allow you to get at them very well. Great work though! I've seen enough of your DIY videos to tell you that I'd let you wrench on my vehicles anytime, and I won't even take them to any shops! I work with mechanics that are FAR less skilled/efficient as you appear to be. Keep up the GREAT work!
good job once again, been following you and you man for a couple of a few years now.
Great video. Thanks for the additional details in the notes frames on the video!
Back in the day I hated those spring clamps as well till I found out the hard way. The originals are self tensioning. My replacement my gear clamps leaked and required to give them a tweak as the hose got soft after heat up or as it aged. I always use the OEM spring clamps as much as I can, even know they can be a hassle.
thanks for all your wonderful an knowledgeable videos
Thank you
Can you make a video about power steering fluid and how to change it ?
I replaced the thermostat of my 2006 Mazda 3 some 4 years ago. I purchased GATES brand of thermostat. Inspect the bearing after removing the tensioner pulley just to be certain if it needs replacement or not.
Great video!
But what about the heater hose? Do they need to be flushed 2?
Great video! This was super helpful.
how did you learn all those diys.. respect
man, youtube must phsychic. i was gonna look for a thermostat replacement video and BAM! as soon as i opened YT this video was there. Good move youtube..............good move.
Phone these days can read thought waves from your pineal gland.
@@Kaio_Kid LOL!
Thanks for your help.
Very helpful video dear...
After having the P0126 code on my MS6, I just watched your video and ordered a new thermostat and fluid. Fingers crossed :)
Do you have a video on changing your clutch fluid in your speed3? If not, could you please make one?
Great job...great video. Thanks so much!
Why wasn't the radiator refilled with distill water, turn on heater and allow water to circulate through the heater core? Drains and refill with at least 2 more gallons of distilled water...THEN ADD pure one gallon of coolant and slow it to mix with distilled water in block? Top off with the 50/50 or 60/40 mix....
Where did you get your protective eyewear from ? Great channel btw.
The Mazdaspeed 3 owner's manual says to use FL22 coolant. Not the normal stuff from auto shops.
Excelente vídeo, el check Engine encendió y marcó el código de termostato y sensor de temperatura, ya los cambié pero no se apaga el check Engine, me puedes ayudar ?
nice one. can you make a video installing oil catch can please. thanks
You can get special grips to remove those clamps, but access is often a pain. I replace with old fashioned screw tighten ones.
can you demonstrate on how to replace a water pump?
May I know is it the 2013 CX-5 has the same method to replace the coolant?
i have to flush the coolant on my focus st mk2 soon, how do you avoid spilling a shit load of coolant all over the floor ? just a big bucket ?
great to see a girl knowing how to work on cars
So Speed3/6 owners don't have to do the steps at the end since our engine is self-bleeding??
Can you use long needle nose pliers? harbor freight has em for cheap.
Perfect! Thank you miss
Another great video thanks!!
Do you happen to know if that is the same thermostat that is used in a 2013 ford focus?
After adding the distilled water, did you run the engine to temp with the heat on max to get the old coolant out of the engine and heater core? I've always hated trying to flush the whole system. Gotta wonder what people's mechanic's are doing? Still enjoy watching you work after all these years!! Hope it's still fun for you as well?
Excellent video! Thanks.
Nicely completed.
What is the torque spec in belt tensioner thanks
I thought you at least need to get the engine running and turn the heater on when you put the distilled water in. Otherwise, the water won't get to all parts of the cooling system. It means the flush isn't complete.
Not always recommended to run plain water through your heater core
first! great video! I'm just about ready to do mine. lol u kick ASS! haha
how did you learn everything you know about cars? out of curiosity
There's actually tool for the clamps that makes it really easy to take off
Mis respetos a tan hermosa ingeniera del automotor😍🌹🌹
Great job! I would be concerned that you drained a green coolant and added back a pink coolant. Mixing coolant types is not a good idea for it can cause the mixture to do bad things. You may be ok but I would have run several cycles of distilled water through to completely get rid of the green stuff then use 100% concentrate to ensure your final mixture is 50/50 or what ever you want. Need to know the drained amounts and the total calcite to really know the final concentrate amount. Suffice to say you must use 100% to get it anywhere near 50/50. Thanks for posting!
I changed the thermostat and later on the day it over heated???
excellent work, i love you
Hi I have a Mazda 3 I change the water bottle and I drive my car from home to work and I saw the water leaking out of the bottle from the little hole on the bottle
what do u work mechanical or auto Electrician efi..?
dear we need one for fuel pump replacement Mazda 2010 plesssss
the mazda speed 3 has the 2.0 turbo or
Great like always.
Good work rely true respect
Can anybody help me I have a 2008 Mazda CX nine I need to know where the engine coolant sensor is located
What causes it over heat
Hey, I did a change in my 2010 Mazda 3 how long does it take before fans come on after change. Heater works fine. Engine runs great. Problem is that after 10 mins fans did not come on. Plus I don't have a temperature gauge. I just have a blue and red warning light
You've probably solved this by now but it's possible the fan isn't working and throwing the light. The fan only comes on if accessory cooling is needed. However, the fan should always come on when you turn on the A/C, that's the best way to see if it actually works.
The belt tensioner bolt torque is 14-18ft-lb according to Mazda's service manual, thermostat housing bolts 6-8.5ft-lb.
And a pro tip: Due to the way the hoses run it purges the air on refilling better with the header tank side a bit higher than the other.
Thank you!!
Good afternoon my friend and nice to meet you!
Is it okay if i can ask you for help with my vehicle's cooling system full service(2003 DODGE CARAVAN SE)?
Amazing lady!
Good enough, but what i do is drain, put distilled water back in, let it run till thermostat kicks in amd open the heater to circulate through the heater core. Drain again. Do at least twice, then fill up with 50/50.
I'm getting in love in you girl! Keep up the good work Ms DIY 😊
sweet job
Its necesary replace the thermostat in the coolant change?
No it's not.
Usually you just change the coolant
My Mazda has plastic covers under the car, it’s annoying having to remove 6 screws to get to a frikin drain plug
I need to swap out my thermostat on my Speed 3. There are plenty of Mazda 3 thermostat replacement videos. Not one good MS3 (or MS6 for that matter) thermostat video. Why? Closest i found was a CX7 with MZR 2.3L DISI. Similar but not the same. CX7 has more room and slightly different layout.
Sarm 1084 did you find out how to do it
It's not clamp its Mazda. I found that those clamps are what every car should have, they provide a specific pressure clamping force.👍
1) Drain coolant from cold car
2) Remove tensioner to gain access
3) remove thermostat & old gasket/oring
4) flush out engine with distilled water
5) replace thermostat and gasket/oring
6) rebolt on tensioner and belt (replace if worn)
7) fill system with correct 50/50 coolant and burp system (turn on heat to full blast, turn engine on and let the water pump push air out)
8) when you don’t see any more air coming out of overflow tank, close it and drive around the block for 10-20 minutes and make sure your car doesn’t over heat.
I too hate those clamps! At least it's good to know once they're on, they probably not coming on themselves
good job keep it up! :) :) ♥♥♥
@ 1.35 did you just get a mouth full of coolant? sorry shouldnt laugh lol.
Did not cover the alternator. When the T-stat was removed, coolant may get on the coils.
also before u drain remove radiater cap
No blood? You must be doing something wrong... (In replacing "those clamps") I find grinding the inner tang/stop off allows the clamp to be held open that extra mm with the vicegrips for what it's worth, while trying to reinstall clamp on (new) hose. Using a silicone hose? Be sure to use a smooth inner, clamp "for" silicone hoses...
The thumb with the up that’s interesting
Ally is cool! 😎👍🎸
You go girl ! Comes from a car guy
Wonderful job but please Put on some gulfs, 👏🏼
I think that flushing the cooling system doesn't make much sense the way you did it. It's better e.g. to fill the system with water, start the car, let the engine run for a while, stop it, let it cool and drain it.
female garage your correct
I saw you have green coolant before.... You still have the green glycol inside the engine, you have to completely flush the engine to remove all the old coolant because you don't want to mix green crap with the pink Asian coolant
ProRockJK Why? What will happen if they mix?
A little confusion here for me too. Not supposed to mix colors. Green is ethylene glycol based. She said the pink was too, but I didn't think it was.
Your lucky, my mazda3 tensioner is at the bottom .
the thumb with the up? too funny
You should also replace the Coolant sensor= with the factory one. As most cars now days will not start. If that sensor fails. And you will end up chasing an Ignition problem all day..... Cough Ford......
I'm pretty sure you gotta cover the Starter so coolant doesn't get on it when you remove the thermostat
Good idea
@6:00 my car likes kool-aid too!!
Not a bad video - as several have mentioned, you did not flush the system properly. Also, you should put the year and engine in the description.
LodniKranazon looks like a duratec 2.3 liter mazda engine on a mazda 3. possibly a 2012, these engines are everywhere from Ford escapes, focus, mazda 3, mercury Mariner.
great
DID YOU JUST PUT PINK LEMONADE IN YOUR CAR
don't forget to make sure you covered up the Alternator that is almost UNDER the thermostat. Do not want coolant to get into it!! cover with plastic bag, thick cloth, something!
Who the hill dislikes this video !??!
I hate them dam clamps also,I use a 2 inch C-clamp to open them up when I have the room. They do make a tool for them but it looks cumbersome.
NAHAAFB You can buy good hose clamp pliers from ebay about 15€. Those spring hose clamps are the best way to make tight connection without leaks.
why you change thermostat
Minor engine code. The thermostat was stuck open so the car was running too cold.
everythingdiy I have mazda 6 2008 not have problems thermostat. I what change fluid on my mazda 6
for mazda 6 2008 is same procedure,my mazda 6 have and rezervuar
There is a special tool to remove those clamps , which makes it very easy.
What the hell is it? I have a hard time with those clamps every time.
+***Classified*** search Amazon for "cable hose clamp pliers"
ajchien Thanks!
perfect :)
Ally is a turn on!
The coolant used in this video is 100% not the manufacturer’s recommended coolant. Use only FL-22 for most Mazdas.
Did you knew that some cars have a drain plug also on the block to fully drain the coolant???
Yup, my old Nissan had one.
freeze plug
Unfortunately the Mazda3 2.0 doesn't have one.
And it's why the UK service schedule says change the coolant at four and then every two years - they only drain and refill the radiator which is half the coolant capacity.
