As with any new purchase, it's always nice to go on our very first adventure at sea. We decided to go to Key West, since it was not too far out of the way and would be a good learning experience. We hired a captain to take us on this Christmastime Journey for four days. What happened next besides the weather turning bad will be revealed in the video. As always, thanks for watching. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the ride (or should I say sail?).

Hello everyone. Thanks for watching our crazy trip tale. We will be providing a lot of content in the near future about things that need to be fixed. If you have already heard the story, we hope this footage helps you visualize it! And yes, all sailing is not like this! We just started with the bad stuff first.

From a 22 year career Navy guy? Bravo Zulu….very impressive work! That’s quite the shakedown cruise you endured! Very commendable work! You make a great team from what I’ve seen in past videos….and boy does that make the difference! Both in relationship….and in your “crew “ ! Really enjoyed this! Captain Kaylen USN Retired.

When ever I took my boat out for a longer trip and made it back, I felt like I survived to live another day.

  • @seewhatiseahk

I'm a big Porsche fan and a sailor and love your channel's transition, and all the fun lessons you'll learn on the way. Hard times makes great videos. Big thanks!

  • @michaelwilliams8781

Yep, that’s what it’s like. Things break on boats and let you down! Surveys only get you so far. Sea trials are the only way to really find out what a boat’s like and you guys certainly did a good one. Well done! 👍

  • @dialedindetail5899

    Buy a boat they said.

  • @TracySwingKid

I am so proud of you two working together to sort out the problems as they arise.

  • @wernerdanler2742

Talk about making it go right! You did it, Franny.

  • @obi-wankenobi7160

Loving the content Heidi and Franny!! I missed you guys and especially loved your porsche content but I am still watching now 😃

  • @paulmoe1

Wow, what a trip. Glad that you guys survived. Great video. Great visualization of the hardships one can run across when out at sea. Impressed with your perseverance and tenacity in addressing all the problems that came up. So many on your first trip. Hope your future sails are smooth. I ran across your channel about the time you purchased the I8 which helped me purchase my I8. I sold it about 1 1/2 yrs later after a $14,000 repair bill. Keep up the good work. Will be looking forward to your future vids.

  • @Number27

Wow, what a trip!!! Was bound to happen though first time, weeding out all the problems. Hope boat life is more enjoyable from now on!

  • @schmidt28117

What a great adventure. I admire both of you for your determination. It was interesting watching Frannie go "compute bound" on her engineering skills troubleshooting driving the boat and troubleshooting. Good luck in the future

  • @will4688

I’m enjoying your new format. It’s relaxing.

  • @johnnysupertramp1090

I absolutely love your channel! Your VW videos are the best I've seen (I have learned so much from you) and your sailing videos are terrific! Thanks for making fantastic videos!

  • @lowreedman

What an adventure. Glad you came through it well. Safe travels.

  • @maxwilbanks4646

I just came across the video explaining your transition to boat life. I have been a boater all my life sinse a young boy. I first found your car channel while searching for Volkswagen repair information. Your channel is far superior to anything I've seen ever. I have a 34' Trawler and have enjoyed cruising the second half of the Great Loop. I'm a Florida native and have boating in my blood and sand in my shoes. I'm looking forward to following your adventures and wish you two the very best. You are certainly a huge compliment to the arena of great informational videos. Best Wishes

  • @craigheller9053
