I know Naomi wanted to get into the deeper stories about Mariah's life but it just couldn't hit but only a few moments. I still think Mariah has the protective shell around her, but I just want her to go deeper emotionally. I don't think she feels comfortable talking about her life verbally, but in writing, she is able to fully express what she feels, what she went through, and who she is... as anyone can tell by her incredibly powerful songs

She’s had a 30+ year career so fans like me who were there since the beginning, we know who she is, what’s she been through, and like when our legends tell the stories of their lives. It has nothing to do with invading privacy, she obviously wrote a book on her life. It’s trying to overcome her anxiety in talking about her emotions.

Mariah is truly a beautiful person not only outside but inside as well. When she talked about her kids never being alone as she was as a kid made me feel so sad for her. She's A ok now though and her kids are very lucky to have her as their mom.
Listening to her memoir was so impactful for me. I related to her story so much and how she grew up in such trauma and was able to break the cycle. I felt like I know her personally and that she’s like my sister or friend. Even seeing Mariah now, it’s like I’ve know her my whole life. I’ve never bought an auto book before. So this was an experience I’ll remember forever.

Growing up my sister and I always loved Mariah and till this day bring her up in conversation as someone that we have always been able to identify with when there was no one else like us...in regards to ethnicity. Specifically, when she said that the number one question she always got was "what are you?" That is literally the exact same question that my sister and I have always received and I suddenly feel so understood. Thank you Mariah Carey for talking about this subject.
