What a great story about MJ & Prince. The media always tried to portray them as being at odds with each other, a feud even, but this proves that they actually were friendly with each other.
The way I am gagging over all of Lenny's stories! Especially re: his fabulous mother, Roxie Roker, his legendary godmothers, Cicely Tyson and Diahann Carroll. And! Duke Ellington and Michael and Prince. No wonder this man is full of grace. ✨

I watched a documentary about Maya Angelou and someone from her family was saying that what was special about her is that she paid attention. And that’s why she could write about her childhood, because as a child she was already paying attention. And I notice that Naomi is the same. Even though she has an incredible life, she pays attention to people, what they say, situations and remember them decades later. To me that’s a sign of great intellect.

Wow, two legends I grew up with sharing their thoughts and wisdom. Thank you Naomi! You are the reason I began to love my skin colour when I was told my brown skin was ugly in the 90's. I used to watch you in the music clip "Freedom" and "In the Closet" and say to myself..." if Naomi is considered beautiful then I will follow her style, makeup and her attitude, stuff everyone else". Till this day I still watch these videos . I no longer have hang-ups about my skin colour. It was all perception. This is an example of how important that women of all skin colours represent across fashion and beauty. It influences thought and perception in our youth. You a legend Naomi. Lots of love from Australia.

This was a great interview. Always love anything Lenny does and I was totally captivated by his Prince and Michael Jackson story. Being influenced by 80's music I've NEVER heard of them being in such close proximity like a studio, let alone joking in the way he described. They've always been portrayed as competitive. bitter rivals. This was interesting!

Another interview with Lenny sharing how him and Prince used to wait for MJ backstage at MJ concert for the 3 of them could hangout together. So many people try to make on that MJ and Prince hated each other which is not true. The media, tabloids and others put that out about MJ and Prince. Even Prince said in an interview by Chris Rock that there was no rivalry between him and Michael.

I remember growing up. With the Media always making it seem as if there was a hateful competition between Prince, and Michael. To my knowledge, neither of the two ever commented.
Now to hear this story from Lenny. The freaking media, and their ways of selling papers, or ads. It's sickening!
