  • This Leica-M Summaron 1:2.8 / 35, had some problems with the bajonet because it has been droppede on the street, so the bajonet need to be bend back to almost normal shape, to work proper again.
    Remember before disassemble to make small marks, so you can put the parts back at the exact same place
    There was some dust in the front lens system.
    The lens assembly was loose and need to be thighten again to the focus assembly, use a lens spanner and screwlock to thighten the retaining ring for the lens assembly.

    Hey Mike, I've lost the retaining ring of this lens. Do you know the part number? What's the best way for me to get the ring?

    Hi Mike, thanks for this very interesting channel! I have the same 2.8/35mm Summaron, but with "goggles". I´d like to clean, lubricate & adjust the focusing distance, as there is some haze in between the lenses and the images seem to be somehow "out of focus". Most of your video ist very helpful for my project. But what is the tool shown at 6.10 min. and do I need it necesserarily? Is there any difference between the "goggle" version and the one that you´ve repaired in this video? How can I adjust the focusing distance? Many questions... I´d be very grateful for your help. Best regards from Dresden, the city where they invented those overrated SLRs ;-) Tobias

    Hey mike,
    I have the same lens and its stuck on the infinity lock and the focus ring won't move. You think in your expert opinion it needs to be disassembled or maybe it has to be mounted on a camera to unlock? I got it used seemed brand new very minor traces of usage. Would be very cool to hear your thoughts on it.
    Thanks :)))

    Hi Mike, maybe you can help me. I have a Leica IIIC and, by mistake, I unscrewed the scale ring from the lens Leitz Elmar 3.5cm F3.5. Now I can't screw the ring again. I suppose that it has a special point to start srcewing.Do you have any idea how to solve this issue ? Thanks

    Hi Kenneth, is the aperture system the same as in the summicron 35mm f2? Then i could use your video as a reference

    Hi Mike, I have the same lens and when holding at the ring with the red dot and at the filter thread area - the lens has some light play - can you tell which inner ring must be tightened?

    What was the black liquid and for what? Grease, nail paint, glue, plastic? Thanks!

      @mikeno62  Před 9 lety

      erickpro It was actually black nail paint (I did not at that time have anymore Locktite 243 blue screwlock..), because the lens assembly has to sit proper, and because there is only the retaining ring to keep the lens assembly in place, I add just a little nail paint around the lens assembly, it works very good. The good thing is.., you can still disassemble it with no problems :-)
      Cheers
